GM's thread about nothing (29 Viewers)

You seem like a good guy so you might not want to get involved. A lot of people will jump down my throat/pipe up for me coming back. In my quick read of this thread, it seems that most of the people are the kids that weren't popular in school and now think they can redeem themselves with stories. There's a few of you who are genuine but your stories don't cut it. The fakes and liars seem to run it.

Since I never post in the wagering thread, I'm putting this here. I'm up $320 for the week going into today.$300 on Tennessee -6 @ Kentucky. If that hits, $550 on Baylor -13.5 hosting Texas Tech.If that hits, $1100 on USC -16 hosting UCLA.I fully expect to have $2270 at the end of the day.ETA: If/when I lose one, I'm out.
Are you a Southern Baptist? I can think of no other reason that one would wager $550 on the Baylor Bears.
Not betting on Baylor so much as betting against Tech.
I would like to take this opportunity to tell Derek Dooley and [icon] to go #### themselves.

Today Sean, I can't wait all day for your rant against me.
Sorry, we're gonna go rantless right nowlove the first name shtick though:thumbup:
You've done your best to hate me, it's the least I can do. You'd be surprised at how many people in this thread are cool with me because I've made the effort to end all hate. Three people have legit reason to never want to have anything to do with me ever again and two of them let me do my thing.

You're at 110, I have a feeling furley has had more.
Furley's had more on his lunch hour.
Yeah, should have clarified in my original post I meant for myself (or maybe on a weekend  )

My last day in the states until probably April.

Got to see Smokey Robinson last night. Such an incredible concert - if anyone has the chance to ever go, please do. No opening act, no crazy shtick - just 2.5 hours of Smokey singing. A few of his songs gave me chills and had some of the women around me in tears. Dude can sing.

Anyway - hope everyone has a fantastic New Year. Thanks for the few days of entertainment. I'm hoping to have a steady internet connection in CR soon.

Peace.

Take care, John. Drop us a hello now and then from a cafe.

Had a friend who reads this thread make me aware of a post so I decided to read it and the replies. When someone posts a long, detailed story about past suicide thoughts and/or attempts and how there is a trust "lost" because of a girl...only the people in this thread would side with the guy who has a history of suicidal thoughts...except for GM. GM is the only one who saw something. For all of you who sided with Dr A, you are all idiots. Dr A has been, will be and will always be looking for people to blame. A "safe room" that has no locks, etc and is built on trust...he has always wanted to be found out and the girl that did it needs to follow through. This little group you have is amusing, you are the misfits of every group that seems to bond because you are misfits. You make fun of people outside your circle that are no different than what you were. I'm ashamed of people that I personally know in this little group. You went from being bullied to trying to be the bullies.
;)

On a serious note: wild turkey or scotch?
I wish I liked both of those.Just cannot get my palate to accept them.I might try harder on the scotch. Is there a scotch out there that doesn't taste like alcohol?PS, I'm not really stalking you, it just seems that way in these last 2 posts. My apologies.

It's Saturday night and I'm fighting over the internet about how much marching bands suck and how fake Xmas trees are cool. FML
Hey, hey, hey there! :boxing:
I like my musicians stationary and not dressed like a battalion of ice cream men. TYVM
My Super Bowl party says screw you.
Bringing a marching band to your house for a SB is good shtick. Personally I would have brought in a Frisbee dog.
There's always 2012. :excited:

While I disagree that the people siding with Dr. A are idiots, clearly they are not and want him to get better.

The part about this group making fun of outsiders and making it their own little clique and not accepting of outsiders is spot on.

However this is not a reflection GM, or how he wanted this thread to go as he's a good guy, it's just evolved into that.

If you're not "in", you will be ignored and ridiculed, and that's the way it is.
OH BULL####.I just started posting in this thread this year, even though I've been around the FFA since 2005 or so.

So I was an "outsider." Yet here I am receiving texts from the "little clique" about boners and thumbs. Why? Oh I don't know. We share a lot of the same experiences and stuff? I'm in my 30s. I'm a parent. I like to drink. I'm educated. I have an outrageous sense of humor balanced by a serious sense of compassion for the plight of others. Seems like a lot of regulars here share those qualities.

It's as simple as some people get along and some people don't. Not everyone likes each other in the world. This 'group' has its tastes and flavors, its demographics, its values. If you're whining about them being a clique and ridiculing outsiders, then that just means they're aren't your group. The mature thing to do is to leave and find people more your flavor and enjoy life. The immature thing to do is to stomp and whine like a high school kid crying to his guidance councilor.

You may want to grow up. Or, more pertinently, find some other immature dweebs and enjoy life.

:lol:Most of the people in this thread have this common bond. The majority of you are the ones who want to complain about others yet you get indignant when someone complains about you.

Fred>I just started posting in here a few months ago, and I'm not exactly the most popular kid in the world around here. People seem to treat me well enough.

Also, I agree with Bentley. If you couldn't figure out that was Doug after the first post, you haven't been around very long. Doug>hey. How've you been?

Doug>hey. How've you been?
I'm good, man. How's things with you?
Great. Couldn't be happier. Very blessed, and don't deserve it. I know you've got some demons. Let's not focus on the rest of us who don't know what we're talking about with Dr. A's thing. What do you think the best way for us to be good friends to him over the interwebs?
Why are you enabling this nonsense?
Let me introduce you to Doug. He'll say what he wants regardless of what we ask him. Plus, he might actually have something good to say if we get him talking about something besides how much we all suck.

Being supportive is great and is highly encouraged but it's very common for people to use that sort of "advice" and apply it to their own scenario. If what Dr A said is true, you have a group of people in this thread doling out ideas based on one side of the situation. If there was someone else reading this thread with similar thoughts and they took the advice of the people who replied and it set them back... It's easy to get the answers you want when you appeal to this audience.

That's all good and well - but how do you think we should have responded differently?

Oh he has a keen analytical mind, no doubt, one fueled by anger and self-righteousness. I wouldn't be surprised if he's a mild schizophrenic. Let me take a wild guess: "Doug" is Imp/Misfitblondes? Or am I totally wrong?
