GM's thread about nothing (22 Viewers)

I have about 4-5 pages to catch up on.

But, about 50 minutes ago, I was called outside to have a sit-down with my father. This sit-down informed me that my older sister was very uncomfortable with my language and general behavior in the first half of the Clemson/USC game.

I'm trying to be respectful and am sitting here mute, which may be for the best.
Well she can uncomfort herself right out the ####### door for all I care

Ugh. My poor dog has been at the emergency vet all weekend with what appears to be pancreatitis, thanks to sausage grease that I poured on his food Thanksgiving night. This sucks.

:( He going to be OK? Would never have thought that would be an issue.

Aaron- can we get this thread password protected?
:goodposting:Can't believe someone Shick!ed the truck driver thread. What ########. Was it Drifter? Banworthy IMHO. This thread could use protection to make sure that doesn't happen here.
What happened? I haven't even been in there since the guy couldn't name common truck parts or the name of a form he supposedly fills out every day.

called the guys work?
Yes. Someone accused the OP of fishing and making up that he was a truck driver. He posted some details, apparently one of the doubters called up his employer and started asking questions (knowing his CB handle). Now the OP has to have a sit-down with his boss tonight and answer up.
Not me. I don't take the internet that seriously. I also continue to doubt that story.

if true, this explains so much

Don't people know what it takes to make butter the old fashion way? Maybe it's my Amish upbringing but I figured it was common knowledge as to how butter is made.

You are being accused of being a BIG TIME child molester who really knows his trucks
Both of those are, in fact, false statements. That's why the guy was fishing. I know the industry and I know a fair amount of trucks but any driver I've ever know knew a crapload more about the trucks themselves than I do.

I could be your sidekick
I'm pretty sure it's the scotch and soda talking, but this conversation makes me laugh pretty hard.

You know when Zooks says he's going to send you a drunken PM he delivers. WITH VIGOR.
Good lord that was strange and kinda creepy. Though I thought the "talk to you soon" at the end was a nice gesture on my part. By the way, the 22 year old texted me today asking "who's the cat-lover guy?" :lmao: Apparently I ended the night with her by saying that "I had to get a message to the cat-lover guy".

:( He going to be OK? Would never have thought that would be an issue.
I didn't either. He's eaten stuff like that his entire life. The vet said that if a dog is on a regular diet, a sudden high fat meal can cause the pancreas to go haywire. Not sure if he's going to make it. His vitals are ok, and he's drinking water, but he hasn't eaten in 2-3 days now. Just no interest in food.

wiki:"Eighty percent of pancreatitis is caused by alcohol..."feeding the pooch booze, Bob?
Is this supposed to be funny?
kicking people while they're down is his shtick. I wouldn't pay him any mind.

fwiw, I put my dog on a raw diet about a year and a half or so ago. He had no health problems previously, but he's been doing great ever since. I don't search out deals, but basically I feed him for less than $1 per day these days and he used to go through a $50 bag of dog food in a month. I'm sure the daily rate is higher than $1 considering I through beef and leftover and slightly spoiled fish into the mix as well, but I think he's eating healthier these days for equal money or less.I probably wouldn't have him on a diet like this if I had kids. He's knocking out a bowl of raw chicken every night before I let him in the house each night afterall.

How long does it take to start throwing up if you have food poisoning? Twelve hours?I have about 45 minutes.
A man can do a lot of living in 45 minutes.
Unfortunately, I have to go to work. Probably a false alarm.
What do you think gave you food poisoning?
Something hit me at work last Wednesday right after lunch - about 30 minutes. Might have been a coincidence with a "stomach bug" but the timing was suspicious. After 2 trips to the can in a half hour, I made a tense drive home just in time for round 3 and the subsequent reversal of the aforementioned lunch. I missed pretty much all of the turkey-day festivities, was still feeling like a soda dispenser on Friday, and as of Sunday, still got winded taking a shower. So whatever's ailing you, good luck

Man, that is horrible. Sorry dude.

Thank you. I spoke with the vet at about midnight last night and nothing had changed, so I went and picked him up early this morning. As soon as I got him home, I offered him a small piece of boiled chicken (recommended by the vet) and after sniffing at it for a few seconds, he ate it. He's eaten a few more pieces since then, and hasn't vomited in almost 24 hours, so we may be getting out of this very lucky. :fingerscrossed:

You seem like a good guy so you might not want to get involved. A lot of people will jump down my throat/pipe up for me coming back. In my quick read of this thread, it seems that most of the people are the kids that weren't popular in school and now think they can redeem themselves with stories. There's a few of you who are genuine but your stories don't cut it. The fakes and liars seem to run it.
Sorry my stories don't cut it or am I a fake liar? For example, I wasn't even going to tell the story of being dragged to the football game yesterday and watching an excruciating quarter of Rams "football" before making my way back to the casino. Then I got the Scooterguy lost and told him to pick me up in the wrong parking garage. I certainly wasn't going to post about how after finally finding me and talking the whole way home about how it wasn't fair he had to do the driving job because he couldn't earn a living with his Engrish Lit degree how I accidentally then stiffed him on the tip. Math can be hard. :bag:
It's debutante, Bob.
