GM's thread about nothing (29 Viewers)

So, towards the end of soccer practice yesterday while the team was scrimmaging, one of the girls kept saying "my dad is gonna kill me" over and over again. Obviously that is a bit concerning to hear, so I asked her why to try to understand. One of the other girls on the team kept bothering her and trying to talk to her while we were explaining drills and she came and complained to me and the other coach to the point where he had to pull them aside and talk to them about being good teammates and paying attention, etc. I assumed that maybe she was upset about being talked to or something like that.Nope... she had peed her pants. After practice was over, she came up to me and said "my dad is going to kill me" again and then finally told me about what had happened. Then she went on to tell me how she still has to wear pull-ups at night and how she has some device that goes on her pull-up/panties that is linked to a necklace thing that she wears and when she starts to pee, the necklace vibrates and lights up and makes noise to wake her up so she can go to the bathroom. She told me lots of other details too. Poor kid. I felt so bad for her - she's such a sweetheart and has been one of my favorites on the team since day 1. It's nice that she felt comfortable enough to come to me and tell me...I almost went all Billy Madison for her and peed myself.
Luckily you probably had 3-4 changes of clothes on hand for her.
:lmao:
:lmao:here, you want a shirt? Not that one? Ok, how about this one... Or this one... Or .... :lmao:

A kid I had as a student last year beat his father to death with a baseball bat this morning and put his mother and brother in the hospital, both critical. My mom was taken to the hospital with congestive heart failure. A violent case of the Monday's going on here today. At least the Pens are down 0-3.
Damn. I hope Mom is ok. And hey at least the Pirates are doing...well....oh they're in last place again. Go Steelers!
Addendum: one thing I always admired about Pitt is that city's rabid spirit. Even the subversives bleed black and gold. Check this pic out. I took it last time I was down there. Inside the O it says Go Steelers! or something like that.
SofaKings is a Michigan man. I can't imagine he cares much about the Pirates or Steelers.
You know, I knew this but completely misremembered it. I need to quite this PhD program and get back on the sauce, pronto. It's filling my head full of garbage.

I gave my Mom & Dad a couple of pounds of ground Faith and they made burgers last night. He e-mailed twice on how awesome she tasted. This morning he said it may have been the best tasting meat he has ever had.
Dude.
Do I need to read the wallaby thread to understand this?
I bought a 1/4 of a cow. As I was waiting to make the transaction, the farmer was bring a new calf up from the lower 40. They figured he was a day or two old. He was really cute. Anyhow he dismounts from his tractor and joins me and his daughter in the house to figure everything out. Farmer informs daughter that he named the calf already which I read as a good thing by her "awwwing". The farmer says "Yep, I named him King. As in Burger King" then looks at me and starts laughing hysterically. His daughter stared at him for a solid minute with "those eyes", you married guys know what I'm talking about. I just want to get out of there now when daughter insists on getting my meat from their freezer in the basement and loading it in my car. It wasn't until I got home that I noticed the bags were labeled "Faith".
Completely acceptable. My aunt and uncle are ranchers. Their grandkids name the calves and later end up enjoying them between two buns. "This is Pete." Country folk.

Aaaaand, one of our close friends' little brother has been struggling with drugs. Well, struggling may be a misnomer because he hasn't been appearing to struggle sourcing or taking them at all. What I'm not exactly sure. My GB speaks in glowing terms of his little brother, has a ton of potential, great kid, really hoping he kicks this. He just got back from spending two weeks back with his family, I haven't even talked to my GB since he got back last week.Little brother killed himself today. I can't even imagine what that feels like.
sorry, GB.

Listening to The Sound of the Smiths this morning.

Still one of my biggest regrets in life was being in my "Jesus Freak" phase of music listening during the heyday of this particular Brit invasion. Little Bogart would have been all over this music.

I guess I was the only one. The first time I read the bolded "he" and "she" as Bobs dad and mom, respectively. :o

Atlanta friends (Tecumseh>hi):

Heading to Atlanta this weekend for the UFC (got my husband tickets for his birthday :bowtie: ). I lived there from 1999 until 2006 so I know my way around the city, but I have to think that some new restaurants/things to do on Saturday have popped up since I lived there.

We are likely going to stay out by Perimeter and MARTA into downtown (although I need to check into late night MARTA schedules to see if we would get stranded at Philips.

So, any suggestions for must-dos would be appreciated.

I guess it's good to keep most of these guys in one thread?

What's happening in the interracial marriage thread? No way am I setting foot in that dumpster fire. Seems like a good way to get a TO.
