GM's thread about nothing (33 Viewers)

I bought Cal an iPod Touch for his birthday tomorrow. I really don't believe in buying expensive gifts for my kids but I know my Dad (he didn't believe in buying his son expensive gifts) and he's going to buy him something really cool and it would be nice if for once my gift was his coolest. Plus I kind of splurged and bought that robot vacuum cleaner off of Woot yesterday. :bag:
Awesome!
The way your brain works is fascinating.

Stu> T shirts and ironic neckties? What a completely expected wacky clothing choice.
Sure. T-shirts were required unless you hate free beer and love cancer. I have the courage to admit to loving free beer and hating cancer. We'll let America decide.
Were you at that Cancer Pub Crawl in Dallas Saturday night? Got invited but had my kids. Would have been most stellar to run into Stu in public. :banned: :banned: :banned:

Joined a gym. Went through the whole "interview/getting to know you/what your goals are" BS last Thursday.

Had my first workout with the trainer at 6am this morning. I throw up twice within the hour session.

This is not normal, right?

If you've been pretty much sitting on your ### for years, yeah...I can see that happening.

You ever complain or whine about some issue or problem in your life, only to hear of a friend's real tragedy and then say to yourself, "Man, I am a ####"

I never have this problem because I typically don't listen to other people. Feel free to borrow this strategy.

 My old man lost his ears yesterday in a mix up at the deli. How dare you be so selfish as to have ears and not use them to their fullest potential.

I cried because I had no earmuffs until I met a man with no ears.

Weight loss was a goal. That does happen with throwing up, right? But specifically, no, it was not one of my goals.
You seriously vommitted? Right there on the gym floor?
Nope, I made it to the bathroom both times. Had plenty of notice, but knew it was coming.

I have some friends who do Cross Fit. They are in tip-top shape. Both have barfed during workouts in recent years. It happens. In your case, the workouts will get easier over time and you'll not boot. It's tough at first. What was it that got you? Blurpees?

Even after telling the trainer that my upper body is weak ###, he started me off on 2 cycles of assisted pull-ups/push-ups/squats. That first 10 mins had me spent and my head spinning. By the time I got to lat pulls, I had to blow.

I had lunch with Cal at his school today for his birthday. Two different little girls gave me hugs after finding out I was his dad. They both were really anxious for me to watch them play with and without Cal at recess too. Now I'm sort of jealous of GM having a little girl on the way. That jealousy expires in 2024 however.

Are there any San Jose FBGs worth having a beer with, or should I just assume nobody worthwhile would live in this ####hole? I'd rather be on Bakersfield. (just kidding. Only Modesto is worse than Bakersfield).

Fortunately, I'll only be 51 by then and will have plenty of energy to deal with a pre-teen/teenage daughter. I'm skrewed.

I'll be 51 when my daughter turns 18. Hope I make it :bag:

Not unusual to boot. Just stick with it and work through it. The first few days are always the hardest. Which reminds me, I haven't lifted weights since late March. :bag:I love coaching little league, but it cuts into workouts/gym time like a mother effer. Also provides ample excuses to avoid workings/gym like a mother. :bag:

Just keep at it. I'm so out of shape I #### my pants just from watching 3 seconds of a Perfect Pull-Up infomercial.
