GM's thread about nothing (12 Viewers)

Tom the Baptist reminds me of Father Corapi.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Corapi

Corapi was a real estate agent in Florida in the 1980s. He was into wild parties, illegal drugs, and lots of sex. He spent $10,000 on drugs. Eventually he affected his performance and his career tailspinned. He wound up a homeless man with a mental breakdown.

He blamed demons for his problems. He became a catholic. Then he entered seminary.

On May 26th, 1991, Pope John Paul II himself ordained Corapi to the preisthood. He later earned a doctorate in dogmatic theology. He became the most popular priest on the EWTN (Eternal Word Television Network), becoming famous for his incredibly charismatic and powerful lectures.

In March 2011, an investigation began based on allegations by a former employee that he was involved in a sexual relationship with her and was using drugs. He was placed on administrative leave and left EWTN. In June 2011, he left the priesthood.

He started a new website called The Black Sheep Dog to express his feelings about how the Catholic church treated him unjustly. He was apparently involved in sexting, owns $1 million real estate, does drugs, owns numerous motorcycles, ATVs, etc.

Tom the Baptist could be another Black Sheep Dog for all you know.
If he is he would be the equivalent to hide-n-seek champion Jan Frank.

Wow, I leave for a couple of days and kinds of cool crap happens here. I really like that guy who can talk about Internet things that happened when most everyone else was still on AOL. That was groovy.

OKCupid dating update:

So after about a week of nothing, I get a couple of hits. Not Guster/Zooks quality, but decent for slumpbusters and getting things started. One in particular gets pretty graphic on what she is into regarding the sechs :excited: and I am feeling pretty good about my chances. We set up to meet tomorrow for coffee. Then yesterday she drops on me that she has some "skeletons" that she wants to let me know about. In a painfully long text session I find out that she has a felony on her record, doesn't have a job due to said felony, and her ex is still living with her due to her not having said job.

We are not meeting tomorrow. But the funny part is before I could cancel, she cancelled due to not wanting to "meet" someone while her ex is still in the house.

Conversation with the other one is moving slower, but I do know she has a job. So will be pushing to have coffee with her soon enough.

GM, my cousin is leaving for Portland tomorrow with his family. He has 3 SIL that live there. Oh, and he's driving his wife and three kids too. It sounds like fun "in theory" but I'm pretty sure I would go insane before I got out of Missouri.

My wife just sent me this email

Henry was just listening to some Johnny Cash that came from the Cloud (I think). Is this all our music or did he buy something?
My thoughts:1. I like that my 3 year old is choosing to listen to Johnny Cash2. I'm impressed that he was able to bring it up on our Fire3. I'm  that he seems better able to find his way around the Fire better than my wife.

It seems like you're being awfully judgmental here. I mean, there's a big difference between possession with intent to distribute or spraypainting, "Kill whitey," on the side of IRS Headquarters and duct taping a former lover's limbs to bed posts, stuffing his mouth with an arsenic-drenched rag, and leaving him naked in the middle of Central Park.

Can someone who is better than I am at the Internet help me?

My sister is getting married in 8 days and [long story withheld] she is in search of a 6-pack of Diet Dr. Pepper in glass bottles for the reception. She swears she's seen them everywhere growing up, but now she can't find them. I've looked a little online and will continue to do so tonight when I get home from work, but the best I've been able to find is a collectible set for ~$80. I want to help her, but not that much.

I'll be looking into little supermarkets that typically carry that stuff around here, but if any of you has an Internet go-to for something like this (or local, even - I'll pay you cost + shipping + baked goods + karma), I'd be appreciative.

My linkETA - You're a quick one, Bob

Yeah, like I don't hear that every 14th Saturday of the year.

I'll take Things Mrs. SLB says for $1000, Alex.

In fifty shades of weakness Mrs. SLB finally talked me into going to a bed and breakfast with her in wine country. So I'll be spending next weekend here. Of course there are two wineries about twenty minutes from the house but it isn't special unless you sleep in another person's bed.

Looks like I'll be at a few of these places getting stupid all day.

ETA

If anybody would like to try a bottle of wine or microbrew, I'll be happy to get it for you.

Last night, I attended a two-hour presentation from the Texas Center for the Elimination of Disproportionality and Disparities. My conclusion: It is, indeed, hard out there for a pimp.

Tecumseh/Pack, thanks to you as well. Normally I might not try to thank everyone individually, but I've been so hesitant to say anything for fear of negative reaction that I truly appreciate the support more than you could imagine. :)
If you're happy, that's all that matters. I wish you both the best.
I only wish you the best. I wish him like 4th or 5th best at most. Not bad wishing from strangers on the internet, though, imo.
:goodposting:I just know that one day Krista will arrive at my house riding a white stallion, blond hair blowing in the air, then she rescues me from my family and we ride off to Nicaragua together.
Hopefully she'll bring a little step stool so that you can mount the stallion. :badknees:

At this point I'd take being the stallion, just to get to Nicaragua.Wait, does that mean Bob would be riding me?:gay chicken:

For those that are following along, might be kicking things back up with FWB. If you recall, she was the one that really enjoyed :pics: and crazy stuff. The honey incident apparently left a very good impression on her. Now accepting ideas for next time I see her (maybe next tues?)

Well that was interesting.

I brought a bottle of JD a bottle of Skyy, a cooler full of ice and a 12 pack of 7up. Another uncle, Tom The Baptist brother, had 6 cases of beer iced up. A couple of cousins and myself were having a drink in the parking lot when a security guard walked up and told us we couldn't drink in the parking lot because the hall would lose their liqueur license. According to him, liquer patrol stops by all the time. We all told him no problem, thanked him, finished up, and went inside. Of course me, I took a minute and had a little talk with him. I told him that if we had drinks in cups that wouldn't be a problem. (nodding my head yes) Right? He started nodding his head in agreement, I slipped him a $20 and every time after that when we walked back in he said "I didn't see nothin'".

Damn it feels good to be a gangsta.
