we sold my GF's car recently after she paid for her registration. Any way I can transfer those plates to my new car? Transferring plates costs $25 and registering for new plates costs $95. is this allowed?

If both cars are in the same name, yes. If she sold her car, and you bought the new car, no. Same thing happened to me. Renewed my wife's plates, then traded it in and bought a new car in my name (better credit). Had to pay for new plates.

Another stupid question. I bought this car from a private party and have to go the DMV. Do I need to insure the car before doing this, cuz i'd rather not go to the DMV more than once, if i don't have to.i think i know the answer to this.

Update on my nephew:

They're still stuck out in Denver, and there's good news and potential bad as well. He's up to 3 lbs. 11 oz (from 3-5) which is good, and has been moved from the critical NICU to the graduate NICU which focuses more on growth and feeding. Great news.

However his brain bleed has been moved from a level 2 to a level 3 (not good). This is common in preemies and can lead to developmental issues down the line with speech, etc. He has also had some head size growth which could be completely normal, but could also be hydrocephalus, which is an accumulation of fluid in the brain (also common in preemies). He is going to have an MRI done early next week to check and if it is indeed hyrdrocephalus he will need to have surgery to correct it - a scary proposition for a 2.5 week old premature baby. Hope for the best.

Depends. In general, lots of people do it from time to time but Amazon has a bit of an out of control meeting culture problem, and people generally like you to be face to face for a lot of those.

I wonder if this is a Seattle thing. I spend all day in meetings and I'm only middle management.

No the insurance from the old car should carry over 30 days, I think. A quick call to your agent should verify that though.

For the last couple of months, I've been playing catch up on this thread, so I don't really want to see the last post...I want to read where I left off slowly and try to crawl towards the end. Course, that doesn't always work out because I end up replying to a bunch of posts that then take me to the end, which I see and then begin to reply to those, so then I get lost and forget what I'm doing and HEY LOOK! A SQUIRRELL!!!!

Excalibur (also available to download for free) has "send to Device" button that sends books to you nook. You can call me once you have the program installed and I will be happy to walk you thru it

Just found out my 14-year-old Godson, who is "on the spectrum" of Autism/Asberger's, kissed a girl at summer camp. This is HUGE. I'm so proud. And I can't wait to ask him if tongue was involved.
