GM's thread about nothing (39 Viewers)

FYI Everyone here knows Disco Stu and Bogart are cool folks to cornhole with, but unialias is now also top-rated on the cosmeter,

However next time, i will insist on cabs home. I have no desire to spend the night in the Dallas county pokey.
He's been rocketing up my "want to cornhole list" for the past year or so. We need more shot videos and debauchery from him.
I'm still up there on the list, right? I feel as if I've been slacking lately.
Still the number one seed GB
sure, if by seed you mean semen.

:pickle:We are sooooooo gonna make out.
Just dropped down behind eaganwildcats. At least he'd put out, and tell everyone in GMTAN about it

Good Lord. Girls in their 20s are so attractive and well dreseed and smell good and have nice skin and are so full of energy. And girls in their 30s are so sure if themselves and forward and easy. But luckily I've been married for 10 years and don't have to worry about chasing girls that might be morally ambiguous and up for certain illicit activities.

Oh, and hooray beer.

Big fan of the Cos. Couldn't have asked for better company all around on Wednesday.Agree regarding the cab situation. I'm a little embarrassed about the stubbornness to drive considering what kind of shape I was in. Appreciate you helping me find my way back to the highway in my own city. :bag:I think I did a shot video with Stu after a pub crawl this year. It's blurry and I look like a complete moron, which is pretty typical. Starting tomorrow off with a local brewery tour at noon, followed by lots and lots of drinking afterwards.. Will try to sneak in a shot video or two if I can.

I think I mentioned that I landed a very big corporate client a couple-few weeks ago. They are selling 10 branches/locations, real estate and business both, and I'm acting as local counsel for all of the deals. Which basically means I'm doing about 10x of what I usually do, probably through the 3rd week in September. So I'm essentially sleeping at the office lately (Krista>hi. congrats. take me with you to Seattel.)

Also I'm supposed to leave for vacation Monday, so I have to have things in some sort of order so that another person in my office can pick up files and know what's going on.

So that's why I haven't been around, and it's why I can't cornhole in NYC, and it's why I had to tell a former FWB that I couldn't meet her "just for a drink."

:deadbanana:
:hifive:

(aside from all the extra work).

I met an old friend a couple months back who had gotten as fat as me in the 20 years since we last saw one another.

It was really cool how we picked up right where we left off as friends,

Anyway, we set up a weight loss challenge, since we are both degenerate gamblers, as well as fat.

Its been six weeks and today is the weigh-in. I'm down 12 lbs and I hope he hasn't been fasting the last couple of weeks, since the wager is $20/lb. We plan on doing these back to back to back until we get somewhere near a suitable weight.

:goodposting:UniAlias and Stu were better than advertised. A shot video should have been made, but someone kept ordering wine. Need to drink more with these guys.

Nice work!!

Oh Aaron...... I'm ready for you to post your "GMTAN-only IDP sleepers".

I can't remember the last time I didn't finish in the top 3 in my magic football league. I don't put much effort into it, I just do 3 things:

#1 Load up on players from a high scoring offense (thank you Lions last year)

#2 Since it's an IDP league, I do whatever Aaron, Bramel and Norton say to do (no one else from the league uses this site and they consider me an IDP genius because I always have the highest scoring IDPs, which is only cause of this site)

#3 Follow Coach Otis and his Hawk thread

Very simple and involves little work by me. Little nervous this year since I'll be doing the draft in the Adirondacks and I'll be drinking/golfing all day before draft starts.

So the ex and I recently had a talk about whether we are in Cincy for the long haul (well, at least until our daughter is in/out of college) or if there are other areas of the country where we'd be interested in living. Neither one of us is going to move without the other because we want to be involved in our daughter's daily life. We decided to independently come up with a list of our top 10 other places we'd be interested in learning more about and possibly living in. The good?/interesting thing is that our top 5's are pretty much the same (in no order):

Austin, TX

Portland, ME

Portland, OR

Minneapolis, MN

Seattle, WA

Any other places we should consider that might be similar to the list above?

Any thoughts on the places? Pros/cons?

One things I'm stuck on is trying to figure out employment opportunities. Even in my current company, I've managed to craft a bit of a unique role where I'm viewed as one of the experts in company for understanding the consumer and talking about changes in our products/new products will impact their lives. My background is in chemical engineering, but the work I do and love is more of a hybrid between Industrial Deisgn and Marketing. Most of the roles that I have found in quick searches in the cities above require a degree in one of those disciplines.

Also, it appears as thought most of those places have a higher cost of living than Cincinnati, so in order to maintain a similar standard of living, I'd have to make a good deal more than I currently do, so that further narrows the pool of opportunity. For example, i did a quick look at Portland, OR - to maintain the same standard of living, I'd have to make ~27% more, but employers typically only pay ~4.5% more than Cincy.

The lone exception to this is probably Portland, ME, where I have plenty of family and I would end up doing more things with them, so my net expenditures would likely be less.

Does anyone have any tips? Thoughts? Suggestions? Somewhat similar experiences?

I vote Portland, ME just because it makes for better chances of us Thornholing.I have no other advice, neither me nor my ex have any plans of moving so I've never given any thought to this type of thing. Good luck with it. And by the way, it's awesome that you and the ex are the same page.
