GM's thread about nothing (29 Viewers)

A pigeon slammed into my window today. It managed to hit the absolute center of a 9x6 pane of glass and It's body left an imprint that has mesmerized me all day.

Haven't been posting here too much recently, so figured I'd give a little update for those following along at home.

So, when we last left off, I had an epic doctors visit to cure all my ails.

For the tl;dr crowd, all is basically well, carry on

The ADHD drugs have been pretty good to me. They've really helped me focus and I feel like everything I put my attention in effort into turns out another level better than what I was doing before - both at home and at work.

There have been some side effects that have lingered - started having shortness of breath this week after forgetting to take my pill one day, alcohol affects me differently, I constantly feel thirsty, so I'm constantly drinking water and as a result, going pee like 10 times a day. The alcohol one might be the biggest bummer. I'm not sure if it's tied to the thirsty/dehydrated thing, but if I have more than one or two drinks, i don't really start to feel drunk - its almost like the hangover starts to hit before the drunk sets in. And then the next day I feel really dehydrated/spinny. Kinda a bummer. Makes me want to drink less which is ok I guess, but limits some of the fun I'm used to having. Oh, and it's also suppressed my appetite a bit - between that and the drinking less, I've lost 8-10 pounds in the past month!

Things have been crazy busy for me at work - I've been traveling a bunch recently. When all is said and done, I will have spent maybe 3 days in the office all of September. And I'm not a sales guy - usually I travel maybe 3 days every 2 months. I've gone about 3 weeks now where I have put in at least 2-3 hours of work each weekend day in addition to 10+ hr days during the week. I'm used to being an 8-5 guy and not working at home, but my department size has contracted and I've taken on some higher level responsibilities ("opportunities"). All in the name of trying to get ahead :-/

Things have been extremely quiet on the dating front. I went on 3 dates with this one girl and it was going fairly well, but started to get a little too deep emotionally and had to eject. Nothing on the horizon at this point either, but I'll be out of town 2 of the next 3 weeks and I'll have my daughter most of the time I am in town, so it's just not worth it to me at this point. FWB has turned a bit too clingy and keeps telling me how she likes me but knows I don't want anything more than FWB. I had a married girl i work with trying to get with me, but that always leads to too much drama and I end up developing a conscience, so I didn't persue. I haven't had a cold stretch this long since I was married but my crockpot has been getting a good workout

So essentially, I'm old and boring right now

Oh and after my epic doctor's visit, I started using one of those neti squeeze bottle things. I left it at home this week while I was out of town and I definitely noticed the difference. FML

Heading to Seattle for an interview on Sept. 24.
You sure do interview a lot. Say hi to my uncle Raymond while you're there. :bye:
I couldn't figure this out, as other than a brief dalliance with a Chicago job earlier this year, I haven't interviewed in three years. But maybe you're thinking of times when I'm the interviewer, in which case yes. My boss correctly does not trust our "talent acquisition" department to hire legal people, so I do all the screening.I'll give Raymond a sloppy kiss on your behalf.

:goodposting: Can you say 'Hi' to any random person for me? I don't know anyone there, but feel like passing on a greeting to someone.
I don't see anything that could go wrong with my just stopping people on the street and telling them Stoneys says hi.
