GM's thread about nothing (25 Viewers)

If I go on vacation, it will be for posting in the Boy Scout thread. Started off tame, but I really want to make jokes about "secret merit badges" that were earned.

Speaking of Homer. My freaking zipper broke just before I left for lunch. Spent most of my lunch hour trying to rig my pants so it didn't look like my fly was open. One safety pin later and it's about 75% fixed. I also re-tied my tie so it hangs down almost to my the back of my balzac in the name of camouflage.

So it took you an hour to safety pin your zipper back together and retie your tie?? Guess Jeopardy isn't so hard to get on now.

"Lunch hour" is really 45 minutes. I left to grab a sandwich (10 mins). Went into the mens room to take a leak...that's when the zipper broke. Spent about 5 mins seeing if I could get the zipper 'back on track'. Then I went and got some safety pins from the secretary. Another 5-7 mins figuring out how I could fix it without a safety pin chilling on the front of my crotch. Add in travel time between the office, my classroom, and the restroom and my 45 minutes was pretty much shot. Oh, and I spent a few minutes trying to get my kid on the phone so he could bring me some other pants. That good enough for you, Nancy Drew?

I think you've just solidified your picture entry for the picture tree. Full length shot of the tie covering your hastily fixed zipper with a Shuke facial expression.

I'll work on it.

My former employer and I have each threatened to sue each other. I've only been gone 2 full business days.
Punitive damages!
Erie doctrine.
Any sort of recap here on what happened? I thought you were kicking asss and taking names?
short explanation is that the owner of the firm is driven by greed, and loyalty is a one-way street. Lots of stuff up in the air right now. When everything settles down, I'm pretty sure I'll end up better off.

You need a lawyer. I know a guy from the internet that is a lawyer in Washington Sta...never mind.

ANNOUNCING GMTAN PHUNNY PHOTO CONTEST

For some reason somebody decided to decorate the teachers lounge this year. The centerpiece is THIS...the "Lipschitz Middle School Family Tree!"

1. GAY

2. Good thing they put a photo of every teacher in a spot where only teachers are going to see it.

3. The photo they put up of me makes me look like Chris Hanson is waiting around the corner.

4. According to what I've learned from Freemen on the Land and Posse Comitatus they have no right to use a likeness of my person.

So I took my photo down about 2 weeks ago and nobody has noticed. Now there's a nice big space just waiting to be filled.

I'm looking to replace my photo with something with a very high shtick content.

Rules:

Must be Safe for Work obviously.

It should be something that I can make into a 5x7 and print out on a color printer.

That's about it.

BONZAI!
A little late to the show here, but I think THIS would be a good pic to put up

Sorry, I'm not staying to watch an entire Gopher football game on a beautiful Saturday when the kids are at my parents' house for the majority of the day.
Dude, we're embarking on an epic season here. When's the last time the Gophers were in the driver's seat for the Big Ten? Man...good thing we have true fans like me and Tre.
Did I miss how you're a Gopher fan? Is my notebook down? Is my shtick meter down? How's your little one doing? My GB has his third daughter yesterday, Olivia Faith. We visited them tonight and got a pic of Charles with her laying in the bed. I said "Mark, I hope for your sake this doesn't happen in about 16 years".

He said "You mean for his sake...she's the one crying and they haven't even touched each other" :lmao:
Oh, I'm just being shticky. Last year, we were all Bills fans until they started playing games in October. I like teams that are kind of off the map, so to speak. Central Michigan, Boise State long before they were the program they are now...hell, I even started going to Oregon games in '96 just because. I have no ties to the school, but bought season tickets in 2000 because I love college football. When I went to Scupper's cabin back in '06, I bought my son a Gopher's sweatshirt & matching pants. Love the colors. Plus, when they had Barber and Maroney, I used to LOVE waking up at 9am on Saturday's and rooting for the Gophers. They made me a ton of dough back then.Blah blah blah, bad attempt at funny. Little Hazel is doing sensational. Had her 2 month appointment today. She's doubled in size and is now in the 90th percentile for weight. Good little eater, this one. Pretty good sleeper too. Not much for chores or conversation, but she likes to watch football with me.

How is fatherhood going for you? Game changer, no doubt.
Game changer for sure. I went back to work the day after we came home from the hospital so I don't think it's really settled in yet. He and I were hanging out watching Peyton so his best Cutler impression tonight and I thought to myself "Holy ####, I have a son and were watching football together!" I'm still trying to get my head around it. But it's been great so far. Strange times indeedI've been to every Badger-Gopher game since 97. Barber III and Maroney were beasts in college. A GB of mine played for the Gopher in the late 90s (Tre, you meet Jon). He said they were NFL bound their freshman year.
I think she found my stash....
What a cutie!

Is there anything appealing or even bearable about visiting Pensacola, Florida? Invited to a wedding there Sept. 2 and haven't been able to decide whether to go.
I'm going to see Pearl Jam there on Sept. 23. let me know if there's anything good there.
you serious clark?
It may be the 21st. I know it's that weekend. I just remember that DJ Jazzy Jeff is playing the same day. Foo Fighters are the 22nd.
No I know...I'll be there too. Just don't ever recall you in the PJ thread...maybe you're not a huge fan though
I lurk in the PJ thread occasionally. Saw them in Vancouver last September. I had plans to go to Stockholm/Copenhagen/Oslo this summer, but a trial got in the way, so Pensacola is it for this year.
:thumbup:Where are you staying?
At a friend's house someplace around there. I really don't know a whole lot about this whole trip. Someone else put it together--I'm just going.
you still going in light of everything? perhaps an onsight shot video is in order?

nope. had to bail. sucks, because everything was set up, but I can't afford it at this point...ramping up a solo practice on no notice isn't going to be cheap.

So, the Today show is here today for some sort of college spirit competition (we are in the final six schools). My understanding is that it's all going to get underway around 10:00, as that's when our marching band (k4> :hey: ) will be here playing. Right outside my window. Pretty pumped about my productivity today.
