Who am I supposed to bet on today? I swear I saw someone with some picks in here, but I have been drinking quite a bit and have a bit of an imagination
Indy +9.5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
at 10 now, but I'm not biting
FWIW, lumpy in the gambling thread has NE as a "cadmium" lock.
Is cadmium a good or bad metal?
I think it's pretty good?
Not real good to play with nor inhale, but batteries use them and stuff.
Speaking of inhaling, anyone ever cleaned an oven with that Easy Off ####? So you're supposed to spray pure lye into a heated oven? ####ing genius! I thought I was going to go into cardiac arrest today using this ####. Can't believe it's legal.

Had a terrific overnight trip with Kellen down to Eugene for the Oregon game. It was his 10th birthday gift/celebration and it was probably one of the best memories either of us has and will have being father/son. Just had a blast. He's really growing up. We had a pretty nice hotel room in downtown Eugene that was a gift from my friend from SFO who had to cancel on going to the game. Kellen thought it was sooooo fancy. We walked about 5 miles on the day, around town, around campus, to the stadium, back to the hotel. Kid swam in the indoor pool for an hour while I read the paper and sipped on a cold one. Then we got room service at like 11:30pm and stayed up late just talking about life and watching the History Channel. He's made the transformation from little kid to young adult and it was really cool bonding with him. When I dropped him off with his mom today, he had a little tear in his eye and said "I'm so sad the weekend is over, that was the best time of my life". Cool kid, really cool memory for us. Game sucked, but the weekend ruled.
So awesome.

 Made sure our new oven was self clean because of that #### when we redid the kitchen. Stuff is like sniffing napalm. Make sure the gloves don't have holes in them when you clean off the residue because the chemical burns from it suck.

cos> f'ing genius marketing with the mo donations, my friend.
huh, Honestly didn't even think of that. Just wanted to make you look like a big shot getting 40x as much as everyone else. But now that you mention it, maybe I should find some groups in Dallas and Houston to donate to. That's where most of my guests come from and a buck a head is cheaper than direct mail.

Tonight we're playing a game with our 2.5 year old where we have her dog toy on a blanket, and we're tossing him up in the air. Out of nowhere, unprompted, she says "We have a great family." How ####### great is that? She's also pretty advanced, linguistically. My wife and I look at each other, amazed, and she just keeps rolling right along with throwing the dog up in the air. She'll also completely melt down, and an hour later, apologize to us unprompted.

Kids are pretty awesome. They can also be a massive pain in the #### and they guarantee you're going to get laid about 82% less than you normally would, but it's so worth it. I think. I'm pretty sure.

COWHERD! :towelwave:

You can make toys out of anything, really. There is not much of a correlation between money spent on a toy, and said enjoyment received from that toy.

My parents are coming into town today for the first time since last September. At the time I was still with the now ex-gf, so this will be the first time ever that they've come out with it being just me (and my daughter).

As some of you might remember, my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer this summer. She had a lumpectomy and just ended radiation last week. Things are looking good/hopeful that all the cancer is gone and she can live a normal life from here, but she's been using this trip as her motivation to get up everyday and go through all that. Every time she saw a doctor, she would ask if she was still going to be able to make the trip here for thanksgiving.

So I'm trying to go big this thanksgiving and make it one she'll always remember.

I've been slowly cleaning my apartment over the past 2 months, throwing out/giving away at least a third of the non-furniture stuff that was in my place (including >2/3 of my daughter's toys!), turning it into my home and my space. The metamorphosis of my back bedroom from storage unit into guest bedroom was finally completed late last night. I think everything is in place for their arrival mid/late afternoon including decorating their bedroom with pictures of me when I was little and some pictures of my daughter.

I have a massive thanksgiving feast planned, which should be awesome since my mom still sees me as a little boy and is still surprised/impressed that I do laundry, etc. I'll be smoking 2 turkey breasts, gravy, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, apple and bacon stuffing, asparagus, butternut squash soup, along with pumpkin cheese cake, apple pie and strawberry rhubarb crisp.

Oh and my mom is a big Patriots fan, so ending the day watching them beat up on the Jets should be the perfect nightcap to an awesome day
