GM's thread about nothing (35 Viewers)

Any shtick ideas on how to tell our parents about our pregnancy? Right now, the idea is to start up a round of "what's everyone thankful for?" that will end with us handing a printout of the ultrasound to each parent at the table. Will be effective, but fairly lame.
Stuff a baby inside the turkey, and then have your FIL cut it open.

Is Portland like Austin without the heat? Or is that Seattle?Whichever one it is, I want to go there, and maybe never leave.
Doesnt Portland have one of the highest suicide rates in the nation? I think another difference between Portland and Austin is... Austin actually has a lot more to do in terms of night life.Over looked the Seattle part.. only been to the airport but Ive read it has the most college graduates and is a nice city.. just rains a lot. Believe it also has a high suicide rate.

anyone need a mattress? I posted this in the best mattress thread, but its so good I'll repeat it here.

My link

This is about the highest rated mattress and seller on AMazon. Use code BEDSALES to get 40 percent off. Free shipping, no tax.

I got a 10" king and 8" queen for about 600 delivered. I've bought about wight mattresses over the last six months and this is far and away the best deal I've gotten.

Rules. Use one of those little plastic babies.

K4 if you need a cause for that March money you can fund my son's hockey - that shizz is 'spensive.
I feel for you. I had a friend with four boys, all of whom played hockey, and he kvetched constantly about the expense (as well as the early mornings). Hockey is so awesome it's worth it, though.
Yeah, that's probably a better place to live. Better weather, closer to the ocean, better beers, tremendous wine country, low crime, lots of access to ski slopes, waterfalls and river rafting. JUST KIDDING!
:lmao: Luring K4 here would be like Reggie White coming to Green Bay. She would help change the perception and show the world the awesomeness that is Milwaukee as a destination for GMTAN free agents

Ok even I can't say that with a straight face
:lmao: I like Milwaukee. And not just for its proximity to Chicago.

Portland would certainly be my preference, but the job in Milwaukee looks to be a better one. We'll see.

The best job that has come to me as a possibility so far is in Goshen, Indiana, which was described as being "just south of Elkhart". Like that helps. :lmao:

that's seattle.
Believe Portland is also in the top 10. I know Seattle was #1 for awhile.

Get one of those "I Love My Grandma/Grandpa/Granparents" picture frames with spots for two pictures. Copy of ultrasound on one side, write "Cant wait to see you, XX/XX/2013" on the other. Wrap as early Christmas present. Watch surprise and tears of joy.

Actually, I need to but Cal a new mattress, thanks! Do you think I need to buy a new box spring too? The one he has now is freaking noisy. I know because his room is right above ours.ETA

Never mind. Went ahead and ordered this too.

He has practice tomorrow morning at 6:30. That's tomorrow as in Thanksgiving.

who's he railing up there?

:wub:On another note, there's probably a ton of big oil companies needing someone with your talents. Would fit as far as good to great cost of living vs salary levels, perfect for travel, easier to get to Nicaragua, good food scene, great 9 months out of the year, but otherwise pretty warm.

Gifts of baby clothes that say things like "I love my grandpa". That's what we did and they dug it.

Show them the video of how it happened

South Bend-ish. North central part of the state
My wife lived in/around that area for several years. We now live a couple hours from there. They also have a pizza place I'm itching to try. Esquire named it the 15th-most "life-changing" pizza in America. In BFE, Indiana. :loco:

Btw, maybe I should start looking into other locations as well. We don't really have anything tying us to Houston anymore. Anywhere I should consider?

Yeah I hear you. St. Louis has a lot of great things going for it. Problem is there is a certain segment that likes to get killy. Thanks East St. Louis (Illinois)!!!!
HEY! If you didn't horde all the good stuff on your side of the river, we wouldn't have to come kill you for it.

I think you may want to lay a piece of plywood on top of that. Over time memory foam starts to ooze thru slats.

Checking in to say hello to all the JIMTANNERS and wish everyone a safe and sane Turkey Day. Gonna brine some turkeys and get hammered. :banned:

I didn't go to Oregon. :bag:My point is it is LESS money to see college football than it is to see NFL. Hell, it is LESS money to see college football than it is the NBA and as much as I enjoy going to Blazer Games, I'd rather watch college football any day of the week.
well, I'm sure you get a great deal with season tickets and obviously as a season ticket holder, you've grown to love the Ducks.I'm not planning to buy season tickets for any team anytime soon. Can anyone get those? With such a small stadium and such a good team, I imagine they'd be hard to come by.
Very hard to get and very expensive now because if you buy them, they force you to pay a 'donation'. I bought these in 2000. I'm grandfathered in, meaning I never have to pay the donation, which can be steep. I sell about half my tickets every year. There is NEVER a problem finding a buyer. It's a hot ticket and I can make up a lot of the cost I spend on the season tickets. College football is fun.
I drive up sometimes just to tailgate and watch the game outside the stadium. It's a blast

if any of you ####ers are serious about coming here for the Super Bowl, let me know. My GB is renting out his 1 BR apt in the CBD (walking distance to everything) and want to reach out to friends of friends before he posts it on CL or anywhere else.

Never seen a liquor store that is out of Crown, JD and others. I blame the Mayans.
Bought some Wild Turkey Rare Breed for tomorrow. 9 lbs of food and that should put me in a nice coma.
:thumbup:Craving some Pappy
Man, still haven't had any since that weekend. I'm scared I'll just drink it all at once.
Been looking online at some bottles, but also afraid that if I splurged I'd just run through the bottleSo GOOOOOOOOD

We need to get our hands on that March bonus Krista is going to miss out on. How do you look in a pencil skirt?
