At our department holiday lunch* today, I won tickets to the company suite for a Kid Rock concert. *Avid readers of my posts will recall that the company disallowed company-sponsored lunches this year and are allowing us to search for gnomes instead, but my boss paid out of his own pocket for our lunch for 50+ at a good restaurant. Pretty nice.
I have to imagine that Mr. K is over the moon about this.

Still want one of your gnomes. If this can't happen, please suggest guster as a gnome name. TIA

So Zach (the original SuperBaby™) turned 8 today . He told us tonight nonchalantly that his teacher gave him "birthday spanks" today. We tried to ask him the context, but he acted like oh whatever no big deal. He said maybe 3 or 4 times, but wasn't sture. We asked if she did this with all the kids on their birthday and he acted like he didn't remember it happening to anyone else.

Feel like maybe we are overreacting but we have been teaching him that NO ONE touches him in his "bathing suit" area, and are afraid that stuff like this undermines that. We have met his teacher a couple times. She seems really nice. Seems to have a normal family at home with kids. Pretty torn here.

Tanner, any thoughts here based on your experience? Is it possible to make a shtick-free post?

Random FBG dream I had last night- I was playing MW3, and jumped into a lobby to start a game. There was a person on my team that I, for some reason, thought might be Capella. I had a microphone, but he didn't, so when I asked "Is this Capella?," in response he typed in "Eff Woz."
:lmao:

Dickhead at my work got promoted and hosted a happy hour in his own honor. He paid for drinks for everyone that showed up - ~9 of the group of 25 or so including one guy that openly hates him and just showed up to get drunk and call the guy an #######

Drinking and watching football now. I love Thursday nights

Yeah, this is weird. I couldn't imagine why a teacher would think this would be a good idea. I don't even pat my kids on the head.

This makes me a little sick o my stomach. I think I would at least have a face to face with the teacher to hear that side of the story in a non-confrontational way

I think you're supposed to challenge her to a duel.

Saw Kid Rock play a few years back at a Mardi Gras ball....I didn't know what to expect, but he put on a fun show. Obviously a party atomosphere...so as long as you're expecting that, you could have a good time

Yeah, have you read Mr. Krista's posts on music?

I would communicate your concerns with the teacher. I would think a phone call would do. Be as non-accusatory as possible while still being firm about why this worries you. I'm willing to bet that this is completely innocent but if it makes you uncomfortable or you believe it counteracts something you have taught your kid then you need to talk to the teacher.

:lmao: This would be like Mr. Pickles winning tickets to a Dane Cook show or MoP winning a book with no pictures in it.

Well they aren't doing a very good job. That doesn't look like them at all.

Old lady also sticking her lips out a bit. #noracist

Thinking of talking to boss about staying at the company but working remotely much of the time, spending 8-10 days in the office every month. I think not living in Memphis and not being physically in the office much of the time would make things more bearable.

Just came up with this idea at dinner and discussed where we would live (Nicaragua would probably be too difficult to go back and forth from). Thinking New Orleans. :coffee:

I can see how it could be fun, though I can't name a single song of his. But one of my paralegals really wanted to win, so I gave the tickets to her.

So usually I try not to have more than 4 or 5 files on my desk at once. If I do, I'll take an hour or two after work and catch up and get organized.

I just surveyed my desk and the floor. Twenty-one files. Twenty-one. And I took in two more cases today. I'm on salary, and I'm still at the office. The prospect of even getting things in order to form a plan of attack seems like a full-day project.

Wish GM was here to partake in this medicaljuana I'm about to enjoy. Nailed down a 62k furniture job today from a prospect. A prospect. That's a first for me. LOOK AT ME!!!
