GM's thread about nothing (26 Viewers)

So who is liveblogging coshole? How many shot videos can I hope to see?
Here are some pictures that I'd like to see taken:Kev's magic outer space hair (duh)Homer rubbing YSR's bellyGM violently eating somethingMrs. Frosty and Mrs. SLB doing "stuff"
We couldn't find anyone to watch the kids for three days, so we are out. Maybe they could skype and do "stuff"
How about you spread your wings and fly?

Someone signed up for an Amazon account with my email address. Now I get a bunch of emails from Amazon every time he orders something. Which is often. There isn't any unsubscribe option, only a link to the "my account" page which I obviously can't access. Any idea how I would go about fixing this?
For whatever reason, my Gmail address is hugely popular with people thinking they are emailing someone else. I get all kinds of things: invites to baby showers, dance team updates, reminders to pick up my prescriptions, school closing information, etc. Usually I realize it's a losing battle and just delete, but sometimes I email them letting them know they are idiots. You might do something like that.
Actually happens to me a decent amount as well. There's some Honda dealership that's been emailing me nonstop, and some doofus sends me craigslist ads of all sorts of things. I've tried being polite. Maybe I should be shticky instead.
Hi Mason--I realize this reply is a little late, but you could probably change the password for the amazon account by having them email you a reset link. I also get a lot of emails from Africa and India because Chet is a common name there. Typically, I just report them as spam. One time an Indian girl registered a FB account with my email. I changed the PW, put a pic of the prettiest Indian girl I could find and went to town. Had some fun for a couple of weeks. Lots of dudes tried to friend "me".

1. We have three litterboxes--one for a sick old cat that has to be kept separate and the other two for the other cats. We're putting our house on the market Friday so I went to Target today to buy three fresh new litterboxes.2. I have a paralegal who always keep those peanut butter/cracker little six-packs in her desk, one package of which I steal about once a week. While at Target, I remembered finally to pick up a bunch of cases of these crackers to repay the paralegal for three years worth of pilfering.3. I haven't been wearing my wedding ring, because I am fat.1+2+3 = that look on the cashier's face? Pure pity. :sadbanana:

Because every time one us tries to buy a baby wombat, Tanner goes off and tells the Feds. :hot:

Yeah, none of those anywhere.Too late for you to fly in? Please?
I was thinking at lunch of how badly I wish I was going, seriously. It's one of those things that you don't do but you know in advance you're gonna regret not doing it. I'm buying a scratch ticket after work, if I hit big I'm gonna go to Arby's for dinner and then book my ticket.

Have you guys read the Ashley York and Otis thing? The blog story linked in there actually changed my mind about Te'o.

I've applied in the past for head coaching jobs, but so far no response. I think Al Davis changed his fax number after I got a hold of it. I used to tout my fantasy football victories, my Madden franchise championships, and my ability to tell time as my strongest selling points.
I guess I'm not the only guy that does this.
:lmao:
Brian D

Career job title: "Financial Analyst"

Current salary: "$48,000/yr"

Desired salary: "$50,000/yr"

I have no football coaching experience at any level. It would be a huge mistake to hire me for this position.

Thank you for your consideration.

Successful trip to Granada?Cos, what (if any) is the dress code at coshole's Saturday Night On The Town eatery? One more day of Gamma rays this week, then a break to see where we are. E-cigs are going well; still mixing in regulars but am gaining ground. My biggest problem is 30 years of taking breaks to "get away from the desk for a few to think about things" habit is hard to break. I think I mentioned I can't use the e-cig like a regular, but I need to try to do some kind of bastardized version of "gaftdfafttat".Tanner, loved the story about your dad's poker buddies.

You're going to be in Austin, so as long as your genitals are at least either covered or festively decorated, you should be just fine.

Update

This has been another rough day, but there are some bright spots.I went first thing to a potential customer who wanted us to do some assembly work. The work is the type we would do in house instead of farming out. I did it for 90 minutes before thinking "WTF am I doing here?" Even doubling my speed it would still come in at about $15/hour and I don't have the in-house resources to commit to it anyway. So I talked to the owner and we parted ways. Definite downer as i hoped adding that to our portfolio would be a good idea, but in the end it would have cost us more than it's worth. Finally told my parents what's going on and they are concerned. My mother thinks I need to find someone to talk to asap and offered to pay for it. We'll see.Wife finally backed off the divorce talk and said she isn't going anywhere but she needs me to shape up and act like a man in the family instead of a selfish brat. I couldn't agree more.Friend at one big local company put me in touch with his best friend who is a top-salesmaker at another big company. The friend gets $2k for everyone he helps get hired on and he is going to talk to me by week's end about trying to get in the door there.ANd finally, I sent a note to an old friend who owns a smallish tech company here in town. I saw him twice around Christmas and he was friendly. He had tried to hire me when I left my last job to start this company. i emailed him saying I was looking and he replied right back with his company President copied saying they would like to speak with me.I am still having trouble understanding how much I'm worth. I was thinking any job that paid 80-90k would be awesome. Wife (who is probably right) told me, "Do NOT be an idiot. You are 35 and have experience at all levels of sales in a number of sectors as well as management and general dealing with the bull#### of starting your own company. If you take a job for less than 100k then you are an idiot." So, that's today. About to head home and not drink.

Have to imagine the general consensus here is going to be yeah, shoot for as much scrilla as you can make, but hard to limit yourself to >$100K jobs if your family needs the money, no?I am not doubting that you can land a job that pays that. Didn't mean to come off that way.You are a good dude Herd. Best of luck.

Regarding salaries, PM me some info around your skills and I can help, S.Thanks. My brother is an HR Comp director at dell and has bee helpful so far. I know what they pay and they work really hard to make sure they are in the right range. There I would be in the 80's range if I am "on target" and many salespeople finish above $100. And they have excellent benefits.

There is no dress\s code in Austin. You could wear a tux, Guster a bustier and a tutu and THorn some ratty gym shorts and a tank top and no one would think twice. THrow in that its Carnaval weekend and we might not even be the most unusual group at the restaurant.

What is Monkey Bread?
according to wikipedia, it's " a sweet, sticky, gooey pastry served in the United States for breakfast. It consists of pieces of soft bread with cinnamon sprinkled on it."
My link
I asked for special food requests and Guster responded with monkey bread. Ive never had nor heard of it so i googled it. The typical recipe is canned biscuits dipped in butter, tehn cinnamon & sugar and place in a bundy pan. You fill up the pan, then bake it. SO that's how I will be making it, except I will use real biscuits rather than canned.
