I had one when I was around 14. Actually took a long time--more like a month--before I felt a bit pain-free. It's not something, as you've discovered, that you can really treat...there's no "cast" to put on there or such. It's just a question of waiting out the healing process. It might be harder for your wife given the other issues she was having already.Cool on the travel and I hope you don't think I was implying you couldn't afford it.
