GM's thread about nothing (127 Viewers)

I'm partying with 20 years Olds. Literally. Right out of work with my buddy who is banging a 20, we're in suits from work easy over dressed for this bar packed with 21 year Olds. I'm in heaven.

I'm playing darts with a kid who i think is ######ed, but all these chicks think I'm cool for hanging with this weirdo (totally kicking his ###] i totally feel like Homer, and i loved it

I played basketball with my 2.5 year old today (throwing a pink plastic ball in the emptied-out wicker laundry basket), and I swear the best part is knocking it out of her hands right before she dunks it. DE-FENSE! *clap* *clap* DE-FENSE!

Speaking of, did anyone say they had a broken tailbone before? She says it doesn't feel that much better and it's been like 10 days.
Isn't the tailbone actually all cartilage? I didn't think there was a 'bone'. But anyways, my brother fell out of his UPS truck and did the same thing. Took almost 2 months before he said it stopped hurting. Good luck to Mrs. Shuke.

My wife slipped on ice and fell a few years ago and broke her tailbone. It took her quite a few weeks to feel a little better and even now will complain a little bit about it. The biggest thing would be to get her one of the donut pillows for her to sit on. That should help somewhat.

Why doesn't flysack hang out in here anymore?
Not going to bother searching for his post, but I think he felt we were too elitist/cliquey/judgementalToo bad, cause I like the guy
Heyo. Nah Gust, I don't remember saying any of that. I guess I wandered off for a few reasons. Part of it was the bad taste Imp's assault left me. I tend to walk away from crap like that nowadays. Another part is me being a moody mofo and Pickles making a snarky & snide comment during my manstrual cycle. And also because you all just got too stale and unantidisestablishmentarian. I've been posting :e:lsewhere a lot, where all the hip kids hang out. ;)

Now for something completely different.

I'm going to be 40 in a couple months. This isn't a big deal but yea it's totally a big deal. I've been thinking a lot about an impending mid-life crisis, about how I'm going to want a penis-shaped red sports car and a young paramour who isn't exactly attractive but WHO CARES SHE'S NINETEEN AND LOOK AT ME WITH MY HOT YOUNG MISTRESS, I STILL GOT IT, YEA!, I CAN STILL MARCH MY WHITE SOLDIERS DOWN NARROW TUNNELS!@#, etc. I'm wondering when it's going to happen. Which, I think (stay with me now), means I'm already having a Hipster's Mid-Life Crisis. Lately I'm thinking about getting extra serious in the gym, just to see how I can carve my body for my fortieth birthday. Which I know is totally superficial and ridiculous and kinda sad and pathetic, but then I want to do it anyway. Be prepared for shirtless pics on my Facebook page. Yes.

Feel free to ridicule me now and/or offer sympathy and understanding. Is the end nigh?

Oh, cos > do you need a world class recipe for bloody mary's? I think I may have posted one in here at some point, but I can dig it up again if needed/requested
I'll take it.

Ok, here's guster's no longer top secret bloody mary recipe that I pilfered from a local bar:46oz tomato juice (I'd recommend spicy v8 or similar)1 pint Guinness1 pint vodka (No need to get fancy, I usually use Absolut Pepar for some extra kick)1 cup hot sauce (Frank's Red Hot or personal preference)2oz (insert Woz joke here) Rose's Lime juice2oz (anyone got another Woz joke?) Worcestershire sauce2oz (again?) pickle juice (preferably from the garnish pickles listed below)4 teaspoons sugar1 tablespoon horseradish1 tablespoon Cajun spice mix1 tablespoon celery saltGarnish with part of a stick of a Slim Jim, a cheese cube and an olive on a toothpick skewered through a Mandingo spicy hot dill pickle. Salt rim of glass with 3:1 margarita salt to Cajun spiceServe with a rocks glass of PBR or Yeungling

And probably best to avoid doing it dog-fashion for a bit.

Cool on the travel and I hope you don't think I was implying you couldn't afford it. I figured from your post that it was not financial but if that was even a 1% consideration I'd take that issue away. Figured it wouldn't help but it wouldn't be right for me not to offer, since I know how much it would mean to people.
I appreciate it. But I think you're overestimating the importance of my attendance.

They've invented Old Bay vodka. Can't wait to have my first Bloody Mary made with this stuff.

Looks like a good crew. I don't recall the three PM's. I only recall one PM that said you had an extra ticket to the Rangers game which you sent about 2 hours prior to first pitch. I couldn't make it anyway. If I'm in Austin next weekend, I may crash uninvited and meet you guys at Matt's.

Slam the door shut there! haha. My wife found that place and asked me to ask my ifriends, so I'll tell her no.We will be at a church on Roosevelt Dr. Roughly a mile from this place. Not sure of the exact address or the name of it, but it's close. Thanks!

Anyone feel free to post suggestions in the What Kind of Beer Are You Drinking TOnight thread
I have been on a bit of a stout kick of late. Probably has to do with the seasons... winter time I generally gravitate towards a heartier brew, and that's been amplified with these bone-chilling 75 degree highs we've had lately in Houston.Rogue Chocolate Stout is my go-to and I'm mixing in the occasional Clown Shoes Chocolate Sombrero.I'm not big on "flavored beers" but the Rogue is so delicious.

Haven't been to this thread since Monday night. I'm pleased that I am only 8 pages behind. Really expected it to be three times that.

Paid off 13k on the credit card. It was close to maxed out and no doubt was hitting both of our credit. So I'm glad to have gotten that down to 1k, which I hope to pay next week. Wife is very sad still. Not angry anymore, just sad that it our plan for the business didn't come to pass the way we wanted. She knows that me getting another job will provide more stability and income and give the business a chance to breath and grow. But she had become used to having me just up the street and seeing me often and now worries that ill be gone 12 hours a day and "forget" about her and our daughter. It IS sad, but even if I could work for free it wouldn't be worth it over time; there is no guarantee the business is ever going to be super lucrative. And I'm in my prime earning years and have only accumulated debt.

Heading up to Detroit/Windsor with some buddies for the car show and a weekend of debauchery. Should be a good dry run for coshole

I'm not trying to be mean about your wife, but after a few of your posts, I'm starting to lose sympathy for her. She seems like she wants to have her cake and eat it too.

I can see how it comes across that way. But I've been in her ear with the sunshine and rarely the rain for years The business has been in trouble for months and she only discovered that last weekend. I imagine it was quite a bombshell for her to discover that I had tied all of our money up in a company that was losing money compared to the picture I painted that everything was fine and we were getting ahead.

They all do. They don't want to work. They want to go on trips and have houses like the HGTV house of the year, and they want you home before 6pm and all weekend.

My wife is actually very frugal. She buys her clothes at Wal Mart and when she splurges at Macy's she takes the item back within a day or two. We go on vacation to my parent's second house to save money on hotels. I drive an old car with 200k miles on it and she bought something very used a couple years ago when we could have (at the time) bought new. Outside of our house, we really haven't made any financial decisions that are out of bounds for my income. I'd really be up #### creek if she were a big spender.
