GM's thread about nothing (60 Viewers)

PV had an old gymnastics injury that they said must have been a broken tailbone because she had a lot of pain during pregnancy. I just like thinking of her doing the splits.
I could never do the splits. Sorry. But yeah, I broke my tailbone when I was 12. It took more than a month to heal. Then when I was pregnant, the weight of the baby re-cracked it. Terrible.
Can't believe the weight of Tre didn't crack it while getting pregnant.

My very Midwestern, Slavic grandmother loves the hell out of some SkipBo. She even goes double deck which is some serious business in the world of SkipBo. She sports the same attire.
Dude, SkipBo was the shiit, although I rarely won. When I was a kid, my old Mexican granny neighbor use to bribe my family with tamales to play SkipBo with her. As sweet a lady as you can imagine until the cards were dealt, then it was Kevin Garnet in full Honey Nut Cherios mode with the trash talk.

I'm shockingly nimble.

Hey GM> Hi. It's been awhile. Why do you want an ubergay meme from Tanner?
Hipsters don't say "hey". Hipsters say "YOLO Cat Daddy".Anyhow...Long story and not all that funny, so tl;dr, but...my boss got something from Nike called a "Fuel Band". Picture one of those Live Strong bracelets, only in black and with a piece of computer machinery that measures and displays the amount of calories you've burned in a day. He got it for Xmas. He's almost 60, but in better shape than all of us..except maybe you. Our head trader is 35 and I have for years called him out for being 'gay' for my boss, in a jocular, funny-but-also-sort-of-true sort of way. When we were at our last company and we ordered our lunch every day, they would order the same thing. Every day. So FREAKING gay. They order the same coffees from Dutch Bros on Fridays. And of course, they are both dedicated gym rats. Our trader wakes up at 2:30am, goes to the gym for an hour and is at his station by 4:30am every day, usually trying to race my boss into the office. So it was only a matter of time before our trader got his own Fuel Band from Nike and they admitted to texting each other at night to compare numbers. So.....I have been mocking them all week long and have pantomimed their late night chat sessions the last few days. And now, I'm going to email everybody at work a bunch of these memes to what I hope will amount to a crap ton of laughter.The. End.And yes, I'm a fat tub of lard who needs a fuel band and a better work ethic.
Can you ask those ladies what they think about the Fitbit Flex? I've been doing some reading on it and it seems to be a neat device.
Same thing, no? Only they can't wear their's on their ankles. For bike riding, the Fuel Band wouldn't work.
Pretty much. I think the major difference is the Bluetooth on the Fitbit.Checking the thing and texting your boyfriend burns calories, right?

Speaking of work, and imparting a rare bit of good news, I got a job offer today. It's the one that would allow me to live in Chicago or Atlanta (or other places, but those are my top choices at the moment). Not sure if I'll take it, but at least I know I have an immediate option to GTFO of here March 16.
I got free tickets to the Blues game from my FA today for March 16. :thumbup:I also got my wife out of a speeding ticket today. It pays to be friendly to the cops shooting radar around town. Another benefit of walking outside. Then I stopped by a dormant account to find out why they haven't been buying. This sort of happened right around when I broke my neck and I had the unfortunate luck of the buyer I opened the account with leave at the same time. Stopped by today and she went back to work there. Really small account but it was one of may favorites to open. This makes me happy. After that I made my way back to the office when I noticed (it was hard not to but cars just kept driving by) and crap ton of smoke on the side of the road. I pulled over and some dickmitten threw a lit, barely puffed cigarette out the window and started a fire. I keep a bunch of big bottles of water in my car since I travel around town a lot. They came in handy as I was able to put the fire out although I reek of smoke now. Pretty sure the office thinks I was camping this afternoon. Was supposed to play in a poker tournament tonight but it's in the old hood and don't feel like playing sober. Plus the kids have a movie night at their school tonight which starts at 6:00. I'm going to middle this ******* and spend some time at home by myself drinking whiskey. My phone will be on.Flysack, nice to see you back.
isn't Pinewood Derby Regionals this weekend? After you blew everyones doors off in districts last weekend.

Holy #### Batman & Robin is one if the worst movies of our generation. I remembered it being bad, but damn it is way worse than I recalled. There isn't a single redeeming quality.

I think it may become a cult classic. My kids loved it. It's pretty hilarious to watch after all the super serious Nolan flicks.

The difference between the banes really epitomizes the divergent philosophies that went into making batman Returns+ and the Nolan films. The acting in this one is so much worse than Returns and Forever. I could buy Val Kilmer as batman and Jim Carey as the riddler.

Well if I ever see it again it will be too soon, that's for sure. Kids today have oddball "ironic" tastes though

:lmao: :lmao:You got the wrong guy. We finished last, last year. Our goal was not to finish last. It's good to have goals. We didn't finish in last. WIN!I've learned a lot from the PW thread though. I'll be helping to make two of these bastards next year. We'll do better.Still need to get the pic of the cars off the camera. The thing that drives me nuts, even more than the length of time it takes, is how obvious it is the Dad's did all the work. Some of these cars were a work of art. I'm not exaggerating. See, I'm teaching my son(s). You want to do better? Work harder. I'm not doing it for you. I'm happy to help, but I'm not doing all the work. Other than spending time with Cal, it's the only redeeming factor in the thing IMO. Sorry GB's Shuke & Stu.

Dead Presidents just starting on BET. Good flick.
Better than good. Also a goodfellas ripoff.
You serious, Clark?Other than a bunch of black guys going to Vietnam, what are the other similarities?
Ripoff wasn't the right word. I know the Hughes Brothers have said Scorcese was a huge influence on them and I thought they said they modeled that movie after Goodfellas but I can't really remember what the specifics they talked about are. I know the use of voiceover by the lead character ties the two movies together. It was awhile ago when I heard or read them get interviewed and talk about this stuff so I might even be mixing things up.

Paid off 13k on the credit card. It was close to maxed out and no doubt was hitting both of our credit. So I'm glad to have gotten that down to 1k, which I hope to pay next week. Wife is very sad still. Not angry anymore, just sad that it our plan for the business didn't come to pass the way we wanted. She knows that me getting another job will provide more stability and income and give the business a chance to breath and grow. But she had become used to having me just up the street and seeing me often and now worries that ill be gone 12 hours a day and "forget" about her and our daughter. It IS sad, but even if I could work for free it wouldn't be worth it over time; there is no guarantee the business is ever going to be super lucrative. And I'm in my prime earning years and have only accumulated debt.
I'm not trying to be mean about your wife, but after a few of your posts, I'm starting to lose sympathy for her. She seems like she wants to have her cake and eat it too.
:goodposting:

Oh crap. :lmao: :lmao:

Well, Michael Imperioli gets killed in both movies. There's a starting point.

Sorry about your problems at potential lucrative works, Cat Daddy.
YOYO, hold up! I'm out of the loop here. Why do you want out of Memphis?I know why anyone would want out of Memphis, but you used to defend the place like it wasn't Detroit's slutty southern cousin. Something go sour?
It's my job, not Memphis, that I'm desperate to leave.

Tim Jr. sent me a text this morning shortly after 7:00 that he had been approached by two colored gentlemen in our driveway when leaving for school. They asked for a ride to Feise Road. This was probably about 6:35/6:40 am which is when he leaves. Obviously getting a ride to Feise Road makes no sense. I have not been able to talk to Tim Jr. since he is at school so I don’t know all the details and don’t want to jump to conclusions but Tim does leave his truck running for 10 minutes or so outside before he leaves for school and I know a lot of other folks do to. I don’t know if maybe they were looking to take the truck and he caught them when he walked out or what. Just a word to be cautious. Dayna and I arrived at school this morning at the same time and she also said she had seen them walking around and I believe she said they were at or around the bus stop when she took Kate there this morning which would have been around the same time I believe. I don’t have all the email address for the neighborhood watch (sorry I should but I don’t) so Robyn maybe your or Natalie could forward to them and also everyone else just pass this along as you wish.
Do we have a ruling on whether this is better or worse than "Negroes"?

Directv genie is pretty sweet. Picture in picture, can record 5 shows at once, and it only required one cable from the dish to the receiver.
I didn't even know this existed. Pricey?
if you call and order it, they probably try to charge you $400 or something nutty.if you call and say I'm cancelling Directv for (made up reason), they will probably offer it to you for free.

I have some old PMs that I never deleted. A couple of interest.1) Rudnicki congratulating me on picking "The Plane from Wings" in the sitcom draft2) Me explaining to GM what a "Lemon Party" is (not sure what the context was????)

Going with worse. I've found out since the post that this was the only couple at NYE that I found cool. Hey, he says he keeps a bunch of different whiskeys on hand. Siren song, man. They also live right at the top of the street. It is all very odd. They have black neighbors, maybe it was just a couple kids staying with them.

Needed to be said, IMO.
I speak the truth. Gets me in trouble a lot. You think I would learn. Anyhow, I don't know how Shuke or Stu run things. It's more than a little sad to me that parents care this much. Did I mention there is a separate race for Dad's and siblings? Yeah. That Dad was SO PROUD he beat a bunch of little girls. :lmao: JFC :lmao:

You guys are right, I am a really awesome dad.
Show us your teats.
Schtick stealerOne of my GB's tonight has had a pending multimillion dollar lawsuit ongoing for the last three years. Real estate deal. The bank got rid of everybody he was dealing with and he has been negotiating with the new brass. He wants 27m, and he'll go away. Otherwise they have a jury trial coming up and he'll be asking for 40m. Now THAT'S poker.
