Tried going to a friend's house...got stuck getting out of the driveway...20 minutes later I'm out, get to his place and his power had just #### the bed...coming back home couldn't get the car up the hill so it's parked 2 blocks away...trudged home soaking wet, freezing cold, and filled with a rage only MoP can relate to. Had an offer of drinking and "board games" from the waitress that wants the Homer-lovin, but I was just too pissed to go back out. But hey, at least I have beer to help me freeze to death.

Oof.Anyone heard from Thorn or Homer lately?I love all of the he-men in the Snowmageddon thread saying everyone's overreacting (I do agree that TV oversells it, though). Tell that to the million people out of power, many of whom are older folks. As someone who grew up in a rural area and has lived through probably a dozen week-long power outages, this #### is bad.

Not to beat a dead horse, but this is exactly why I'm only a faux hipster: I have no idea what you people are talking about. My music rotation gets an update once every 2 or 3 years. Current favs are NIN (since like 1990), Rollins (since like 1994), Interpol (my aughts addition), and Duke Ellington. I know. And growing up on a farm, I've always tended towards early rising.Back in the 70s and a good part of the 80s, I had long hair (shoulder length for much of that time). I was also as big a druggy as there was in my circle of friends. Now people think I'm a cop or military when the reason I chose this haircut is about as mundane as it gets - I got tired of dealing with the 8 million cowlicks in my hair.
