Anyone else ever have this happen to them? Yesterday about midday my left ear felt like it needed to "pop" like when you are ascending or descending on a plane. I couldn't get it to pop and as the day progressed my hearing in that ear became more diminished. By the time I went to bed it was making me dizzy and driving me crazy. When there was low ambient noise I heard ringing and a slight thumpthumpthump type noise. Woke up today and it was even worse, so I went to the doc. He didn't know what it was so he sent me to the ENT. Apparently I have hearing loss in the lower frequencies in my left ear, which might be caused by swelling in my inner ear. No fluid build up or wax. It's driving me absolutely crazy, I can't hear really well and feel almost drunk. Can't concentrate or focus on much.
WHAT?
Great comeback post :lmao:

After a year or so of "prodding" by my wife, SLB's "prodding, and 3 reminders from my doctors office, I finally scheduled my first colonoscopy.

:oldunsure:

I had an ear infection a couple of weeks ago after having the flu. It was a #####. Antibotics for a week, eardrops for 2 weeks, and a week of taking Claritin-D.

But it was all swollen in there so if the doc didn't see that, then that's not the issue.

I did ask about the 'ol spider bite inside the ear and the doc said that is pretty obvious when it happens. Big swelling and often visible from the outside of the ear.

At Changi airport waiting for flight to Bali ( :pickle: ), using free internet, and the 80-year-old Filipina beside me has had me lead her through the whole internet, using mostly gestures since we don't speak the same language, so she can get to her e-mail. After many fits and starts and guesses and what-have-you, we finally got into her e-mail and what was there...about 90 Facebook notifications.

She's really adorable, actually.

Houstonguys: TF and I are meeting at 5:30ish at Home Plate Bar & Grill for tomorrow's 7:05 Astros/Mariners game. First drink is on me.

That sucks. What can they do for it?

Went back to foot doc today, about 5 months post-op. Operated site feels better, but still sore. My left midfoot has been absolutely killing. New X-rays show developing arthritis along medial sides of both feet. #### yea.

Gave me a cortisone shot and getting fitted for custom insoles, but I'm at this rate I'm guessing more surgery is in my future. I could barely get through cutting the grass yesterday.

Prednisone, and hope it clears up. MRI to make sure it's not from some serious tumor/nerve problems in my brain

Man that sucks, sorry to hear man.

The brilliant people in Milwaukee county softball decided to start the season 2 weeks ago. Well, 35 degrees and rain isn't conducive to softball so the first two weeks were cancelled. Nevermind that with the April 8th start, the league would end on July 8th where 80 degrees and dry is the norm. So we had a double header tonight. It was a nice and 40 degree windy night. We won one and lost one.

But the night was only beginning. I'm honestly not trying to be degrading here, but there was a handicapped man sitting behind us. I don't know his condition but he had a curled right hand and didn't speak very well. At one point his friend went to the vehicle to start it up. He was apparently waiting for the handicapped man to come out so they could leave. Well, said friend didn't come back after about 10 minutes. The guy tried to stand up but couldn't manage it so my GB and I asked if he needed help. He's got snot coming out of his nose and he's drooling a lot and I'm pretty sure he peed himself. We could barely manage to hear what he was saying. He said (I think) "No I'll wait, thank you". About 3 minutes later he topples over on top of me and is shaking on the ground.I'm thinking "Oh #### this guy just had a seizure." He didn't , he just couldn't figure out what happened from being on his chair to being on the ground. My GB and I lift him up and hold him upright while the waitress goes to find his friend, Dave. Dave comes back in and the 3 of us have to carry this man out to the car. Oh wait, it wasn't a car, it was a work van.

So my GB and Dave are trying to lift him into the van while I go to the drivers seat to help from that side. I"m sorry but I had to laugh a little bit when he looked at me, turned to his friend Dave and said "That ain't Dave. I ain't getting in unless Dave's here"

Long story even longer, my GB and I were covered in snot, pee and saliva. Dave tried to give us some money but we refused. When we got back inside I asked the bartender if he was a regular and they said they had seen him only 3 or 4 other times and he had never been like that. THey had as much to drink as they would normally have....essentially 3 beers. Dave called the bar later because he felt so bad and said that he had been on a new medication and this was probably a reaction to that. He was not aware of the new medication.

My wife is a social worker so she has connections but I wasn't sure if I should pursue something here. The guy obviously wasn't well and whoever he was with, should have been aware of any medications. RIght now I'm chalking it up to lesson learned for him but...I don't know. I was pretty scared for him.

When I get severely depressed, I eat. I don't care to get drunk, I eat stuff I like that is awful for you. Then consider it rained every day last week so I didn't walk a single day. I had Chik-Fila-A, Steak-N-Shake and a whole artery clogging stuff I made myself. Plus sweets, ice cream, cake, cookies, donuts and Mrs. SLB made Brookies which are brownies made in a cupcake pan with chocolate chip dough in the middle.

I generally weigh myself every Monday morning and i wasn't looking forward to the results.

I lost 3 pounds.
Ball cancer?

FYI, I'm way behind and just getting into a good drunken state, so expect a full-blown drunkeling. :pickle:

And since I think I missed the boat on YSR's pic, allow me to make a couple of points:

A: YSR, you look f'ing spectacular! Your worries about being shown up by your non-pregnant friends was totally unwarranted. Makeout offer still stands.

3: But yeah, PinkPants needs all kinds of Homer-Loving. Is her self-esteem low, by any chance?

c.1: Would also like to do bad things with the blonde next to you...the one with hair.

Just realized how bad I would feel if this actually turned out to be the case. Go get yourself checked out, GB. I'll even volunteer to do the exam. :pickle:

So I've been doing a low-carb thing for the last month or so, but not adhering to it very strictly. Basically, just eating a lot less and cutting out the starchy crap except for pizza once a week...no exercise to speak of, because that just sucks. There are days--hell, theere are entire weekends where I don't take in more than a few hundred non-alcoholic calories. I can tell I've dropped some pounds, but the scale is upstairs and frankly I'm too lazy to walk all the way up there to weigh myself. Harkens back to the no-exercise thing, really.

Anyway, Saturday night/Sunday morning I was absolutely hammered and I noticed the next day that I had taken off my jeans without even unbuttoning them. So I weighed myself today before work and I'm down 20 pounds. I've still got another 6 weeks before bikini season really takes off, so I should be looking a lot less horrible at the beach this year.

Considering this good little start and the fact that by Memorial Day, my bar will be 5-deep and I'll be sweating my ### off for 8 hours a night, I might start getting back to the 200 lb in-good-shape PJ that used to bang chicks that didn't necessarily need to have low self-esteem. :)

I sympathize. I've been killing myself trying to get back into fighting shape. My problem is the exact opposite of yours: I hate dieting but love exercising. In the past I just relied on my roadrunneresque metabolism & psycho drive in the gym to burn all unwanted calories, but that's starting to slow down. It's never been this tough for me to get into hardcore shape. I'm getting old. I need to pm Tanner for fiber supplement advice. I'm one dismissive laugh from a sorority sister away from pming Busted Knuckles for HGH advice. /midlifecrisiswords.
