GM's thread about nothing (9 Viewers)

Like every 10 days i check into this thread thinking "You know, if I just read the last 10 pages, I'm pretty sure I'll know what's going on"

I don't :kicksrock:

Anyone have any schtick suggestions for a Cystic Fibrosis walk I am attending on Friday afternoon? Its a work event, so nothing that will get me fired.

TIA

Bentley: nice United Way pic on the facebooks. The girl in the red sweater in the front kinda scares me.
Thanks? Can't believe that ******* Martinez had his hands in front of my face.

I'm actually pretty happy with that photo. Made it my profile pic on Twitter.

Things went well in Corpus this morning. Got to chat for a while with Big Mike & CoCo on 99 Country, Rex & Gino on 101.3 Rocks, and finished it up with a guy with a super-soothing voice from NPR. Had TV and newspaper interviews in between. We had a crowd of about 80 at lunch, and most importantly, I didn't say anything that would get me fired.

wife is currently in full meltdown mode over about 6-8 spiders in our kitchen. we're talking crying, shaking, screaming. about 6-8 very small, completely harmless, spiders.

the smell of Raid is so strong in here that i'm opening the windows.

Cool. Lots of FBGs handling national interviews these days.

So it's tarek and Christina with their own show. They have a money making system like the montelango crook here in San Antonio. Anyway, he's a dork. She is hot.

Tomorrow is my first day at the new job which means today is the last day at the company I started. I've decided not to be sad about it and instead be happy today and finish as well as I can. I am excited about my new job and think I can do well for the company and for myself. It's a "Xbox in the conference room, beer in the fridge" kind of place and I think the service offered is valuable to customers. Things at home were bad yesterday. My wife had another bout of "how could you sink our life savings in to this thing?" but by ysterday afternoon she had thawed some and made dinner and didn't bring it up again. I am excited that the personal and financial stress this has taken on me and on our marriage will start to go away over time. She is upset that I have this great new opportunity but will still have to deal with our company although she understands why we can't simply close. I'm meeting with my partners tonight to discuss getting our expenses down to near-zero so that every order can be profitable. We haven't been able to string together any consistent profitability each month because our overhead has been so high. Even with me off the payroll it still needs trimming. I had typed out a bunch of other stuff but closed the window on accident so - good news for you - this isn't a Guster-length post. Summary: I'm excited for my new opportunity and thankful that as bad as things have gotten, I'm on my way to keeping them from getting worse.
Good luck.

Meh. She's a fine a dozen. Standard fake blonde hot chick.
Reminds me of Tyra from Friday night lights. Which is a good thing.

Well, we're here. Mrs. Slb got on me for drinking so much. "You've had 12 vodkas and this thing tonight, you need to stop." It was actually like 18... :oldunsure: Manged to smile my way to 6 free ones and a Heineken. I haven't had a drink in several hours though and my bac is dropping dangerously low. Well off to the party!

12 person managed services company in my town (suburb of Austin). Need to contact dell tomorrow and tell them I won't be showing up next week.fdell, they sold me some crap hardware (returned), ruined my portfolio and the lives of several friends having the misfortune to work for them.

Got my lab results back today. No, I don't have syphilis, but my diabeetus is still raging out of control. That is more my fault than my doctor's, but surprisingly, he did not read me the Riot Act. He is putting me on a different med, plus weapons-grade niacin for my cholesterol, which isn't that bad anyway. I need to eat better...and less. Fingers crossed.

:lmao: I've known him since he was in medical school. Went to Grateful Dead shows in Vegas with him. But he's kind of a Nazi about getting these numbers down.

And I guess if I started growing a horn out of my head, he would handle it.

SLB doing vacation like a rock star.

I'm slowly starting to think he's an alien. Him and his wife. No couple as old as us should be able to party like those two. When the CCs do vacation we drink more coffee than booze. SLB and Mrs. SLB? They inhale so much booze the local economy is affected. Six pack prices go up a dollar. Vodka stores go into drought. When they hit the beach, people grab their Corona buckets and run. There's no way they're human. They live too large to be human.
