See, now I respect your opinion and think we have pretty similar tastes. What about that movie did you not enjoy? I thought it was great and have seen it 2-3 times. Would watch again.I like wine.

Pretty sure he's also friends with the Wu Tang Clan, so...you know.he directed the ATCQ documentaryAgreed. How come nobody casts Michael Rappaport anymore?Aaron Rudnicki said:Beautiful Girls is one of my most watched films. Nothing guilty about it.
also had a bit of a stalking problem I think.
he was great in Higher Learning as Remy.

I'm sure Frostilicious can find a VHS copy of "Mannequin 2: On the Move" for you somewhere.I saw Sideways once and it was more than enough. I think it had a couple funny parts, but I can't really recall them.
Pretty much my take too. Some parts are visually great. Some great scenes. But the film as a whole failed somehow and I've never been able to pin down why. It's probably because Tom Cruise stars in it.Still not sure on that. There were moments of brilliance and then there were some dead-spots. Probably need to watch it again.Crazy Canuck said:Tanner> thoughts on Eyes Wide Shut?

Now here's an example of a woman I find utterly annoying but would absolutely love to bang until I died of a heart attack.ATCQ?
He was the stalker or he was being stalked?
I've seen Higher Learning more than a handful of times. It's not a great movie, but it's one I can't stop watching if its on. Kristy Swanson, Jennifer Connelly and Tyra Banks all in their primes.![]()

I didn't think Cruise did a bad job. Kidman, however, has never impressed me with her acting and Eyes Wide Shut was no exception.Pretty much my take too. Some parts are visually great. Speaking of Kubrick, I still haven't seen Barry Lyndon. It's supposed to be great. Anyone? Is it worth the time?
I'm siding with the big guy here. And not just because he runs a mean horse race. I didn't hate Sideways. I remember enjoying it but don't remember a thing about it. C+ to B- flick. Sorry Tanner.I saw Sideways once and it was more than enough. I think it had a couple funny parts, but I can't really recall them.
Oh I know and you're right. But Cruise inspires loathing while Kidman inspires boners. Acting has nothing to do with it.I didn't think Cruise did a bad job. Yeah, I've been spending a large majority of my morning trying to decide between Connelly, Banks or Swanson for a night minute of passionless love making awkward humping. Now here's an example of a woman I find utterly annoying but would absolutely love to bang until I died of a heart attack.ATCQ?

Connelly is the clear choice of hipster guys who like intelligent yet sexy women. I love her confidence. And breasts. Those are nice too. Also ###-to-###.Yeah, I've been spending a large majority of my morning trying to decide between Connelly, Banks or Swanson for a night minute of passionless love making awkward humping. Now here's an example of a woman I find utterly annoying but would absolutely love to bang until I died of a heart attack.ATCQ?

I know Connelly is a FBG favorite and yeah, Banks was a cover girl for SI Swim Suit, but I'm going to go with Swanson here. She's more my speed.

"Are they gay?"
"No."
"Why are two straight guys heading to wine country together?"
"One of them is getting married. Call it a bachelor party of sorts."
"You're sure they're not gay?"
"No, they're not gay. In fact, they're going to hook up with women while they're there."
"How's that?"
"They'll bond over wine. Well, the guy getting married isn't really into wine, but..."
"... so his friend is taking him to wine country?"
"Yes, but it's not about that. It's about him finding himself through one last fling..."
"... so he's going to wine country to have a fling? Have you ever BEEN to wine country?"
Really? It's a movie about a hapless drunk who can't get anybody to publish his great American book. How does English Lit guy NOT find some sort of place in his heart for this sorry sack?I'm siding with the big guy here. And not just because he runs a mean horse race. I didn't hate Sideways. And then you have the dude from Wings banging all the austere women in wine country. Winning!
Yeah, that's pretty much it. Solid work, Sepinwal."Hey, I have a great idea for a movie. Let's have two guys take a trip through wine country together."I don't. These guys are wrong and dumb.See, now I respect your opinionI like wine.

When I saw it, the only thing I knew about wine was that it was what I drank at weddings if it was free. I've since come a long way, baby, but Sideways was a perfect movie for a wine noob who has never been through Wine Country in California. I can see that criticism, however. The scene where Giamatti explains why he loves Pino is handled so ham-handedly and with an assumption of audience stupidity that it feels out of place in a movie that is attempting to be "smart".
Of course it is. I know an excellent movie when I see one. 2Not coincidentally, that's one of Homer's favorite movies.Beautiful Girls makes me feel like Homer J. NTTAWWT
Do we want them drinking hot water with lemon only? Hell no. We WANT middle aged women tanked up on grape sauce. Least, I do.What's with middle aged women and wine? I mean, seriously.
Isn't that what boxed wine is for?I've seen them, but I was hoping for the whole shooting match in one spot.Exclusive Facebook posts.Where can I find your kid's show reviews?Good movie chatting.
Ahhhh...the 2009 Cab. I know it well. An ambitious little wine but not to presumptive. Delightful oakey aura with just suggestion of ambergris and fennel. Some would say even a suggestion of lanolin and retsin.Easily a top ten poster today...
My parents hosted dinner last week and the lady she invited over talked my mom into making Sangria. My wife cringed when they opened a nice bottle of 2009 Cab to dump into the sugary mix. Why ruin a good bottle of red wine for sangria?Isn't that what boxed wine is for?
Interesting. My ex has a costume exhibit at his gallery right now of attire from the movie. Should I see if he could fax you one of the actual movie costumes? (Would have been pretty bad-### if we could have gotten you one borrowed.)I'm going to a premiere of the Great Gatsby tonight where we are supposed to 'dress up' in 20s attire. I find myself in need of a sweater vest.
I took a bottle of Pinot Noir to the movie. Seemed fitting. Sat in the back row but seemed always to be pouring a glass and get that loud glugglugglug noise just at a quiet part.I like wine.

I'm worried about it being Baz Luhrmann. He's done some good stuff, but when he's bad he's pretty bad.I'm a little worried about the Great Gatsby. One of my favorite books but it has never really translated well to film. And the way they're promoting this new verison but simply pimping the modern-day artists that contributed to the soundtrack? Dicey.
I'm half-assing it at this point. Going to probably pull an Abe, wear my sweatervest and tweet from a strip club later on.Interesting. Yea, there's concerns with Baz, but then consider it's Baz shooting for 3-D (Gatsby in 3-D,I'm worried about it being Baz Luhrmann. Oh, and count me in the "meh" camp on Sideways. It was fine. Wouldn't watch again.
