Soooooo my boss and I like to vent to each other about work stuff. This morning I sent him a scathing email about a co-worker, to the point where i stated i would like to choke said co-worker. An hour later he still hasn't responded, which is odd. Probably because I just realized that I sent it to the co-worker by mistake.
Male or female coworker? Yes, it matters.
female. late 50s. tattletale. RIP me
"Captain Quinoa would like to recall the message..." down? Easy fix.
Yeah it was like an hour before i realized it. My boss is trying to convince me it's not a big deal. He already alerted his boss. I apologized via email and then in person. There was lip quivering "acceptance".
Oh good. She's not angry, just emotionally devastated.

just how I like them

My boss took it to the CFO who is also the executioner around here. He said don't sweat it, her husband probably says that to her all the time.

Still feel like crap but maybe I'll survive.

When I was in the Army we worked in these trailers that had a whole bunch of listening workstations hooked up to computers and digital recorders. Each workstation had a primary and a secondary headphone jack so that two people could listen in and try to figure out what the Rooskies were saying, plus there was a sort of intercom feature where you could talk to someone sitting at a different workstation.

One day I'm chatting with this girl on another workstation and she asks me "What do you think of Sergeant Wilborn?" To which I replied, "You mean Sergeant Wildebeast?" (Very clever, as she was something of a portly woman with mannish features.) Of course, SGT Wildebeast also happened to be jacked in to the secondary headset and heard the whole exchange.

:bag:

Would it have made it better if you would have said "I don't dislike you at all. Quite the opposite really. I meant I wanted to choke you with my #### because I find you sexy. "?

So post it. :coffee:
I swear to God she just asked me “Hey CQ, blah blah blah?”

Are you f-ing kidding me? Do we not meet twice a week to discuss this?

Oh as I’m typing this … “There was an email from Jim to Steve about shipping two touch screens with that order. How can we note it to make sure that happens?” Uh, YOU PUT AN ORDER IN FOR THE TOUCH SCREENS 2 DAYS AGO.

I am going to choke her. Not in the mood today.

SLB - my sons' headmaster at the private school (it was really a co-op daycare that liked to bill itself (and me) as a private school) recommended it to me after listening to me battle a sinus infection one afternoon while working in the classroom. I was skeptical at first, really hated it the first few times I tried it, but now? I never have to take allergy medication. I spent three hours in the hard with all kinds of dust, pollen, dirt grass flying in and out of my passages, came inside, showered, hit the neti pot and I'm golden, boy. Used to be sucking down benadryl and chasing it with pills. Now? I just take the benadryl for fun. ;)
How often do you use this thing? Daily? Weekly?

Wife update: finally went to the new doctor today. Very cool guy, good bedside manner for someone in chronic pain. Seems to want to attack the problem from multiple fronts. Wife is going in tomorrow for an outpatient infusion therapy to try to break the current headache cycle. Spinal tap next week to rule some things out, followed by a sleep study, trying to focus on treating the depression and weight gain issues, etc.

Also talked about a clinic in Cleveland that's like a headache "camp", where you go, go off all meds and get correct treatment, exercise program, psychological assessment, etc. Sounds like something that would be beneficial, but want to wait to see how next month goes.

My wife seems very relieved, as she has not had luck with her past couple doctors. Also, her spirits were up this week as we got a lot of unsolicited help and support from our neighbors and family.
Good luck GB!
I second that motion

Not looking for any sympathy considering the dirtbag I have been financially, but my parents gave me general admission pit tickets for My birthday for The Killers tomorrow night and they are now on Craigslist. Aside from my wife not being in the mood to go have a good time, I literally don't have enough money to pay for parking (much less any drinks). So yeah, things could be worse for you - you could be me. :(
I feel you. My house is in foreclosure right now. I have been working with them for a couple months now for a Loan Mod. The woman always tells me everything is going good, but they keep asking over and over for the same info.

Just found out we're in foreclosure, but it can be reversed if the accept me for a loan mod.

Not telling the wife yet as she will totally freak out.

Yea, this sucks
I went through that during my divorce. Tried loan mod to avoid foreclosure; they said they couldn't do it because I wasn't 90 days delinquent. Went 90 days delinquent, they said the rules changed and I couldn't do it unless I was current. Got current, and they rejected the loan mod.

Gave up and went for a short sale; they put me in foreclosure simultaneously, and recommended a loan mod.

Then they lost the short sale paperwork and had to start the process over, so now the short sale wouldn't close until after the foreclosure date.

During that period the loan mod was rejected again.

Delayed the foreclosure date to allow escrow to close on the short sale; at the last minute the holder of the second wouldn't agree to close unless they were paid first. Negotiated a deal with them at 20 cents on the dollar. They would only accept a cashier's check. Holder of the first said that if the money necessary to pay the second went through my acccount, they would reject the short sale since I had assets.

Ended up signing a promissory note to a friend, having him pay the holder of the second, closed the short sale, and then paid back my friend from a deferred bonus.

Took a year and a half.

Sorry to hear man, but you need to be honest with the Wife. Will she freak out more now or if the loan mod gets rejected and she finds out you knew about it but didn't tell her?

Right now, I use it as soon as I'm done mowing the yard, so at least once a week. Sometimes I'll run it again midweek if it's a high pollen day. Spring is really the only time I struggle, but if I mow and the yard is a bit on the dry side, I will use the Neti Pot out of habit. It does a phenomenal job cleaning out your passages. The stuff I blow out after a heavy day of yard work is pretty nasty. Like, coal miner nasty. :oldunsure:

Other than that, I can go weeks or even months without needing it. In the winter, I'll hit it if I'm feeling heavy in the sinus area. The warm water helps with the swelling and loosens up any material that can be blown out. Really has been a godsend for me. I do not like taking medication for allergies. It makes me sluggish, even in non-drowsy format.

Neti Pot might have changed my life.
Can't wait to get home to mine. Don't know if I was the one that recommended it to you but congratulations.
Explain this to me please. I have terrible allergies, watery itchy eyes, sinus problems etc. they only last 4-6 weeks through the spring but they're bad enough I want to kill someone. I spend most days feeling like I have sand in my eyes.
I'll do a Neti Pot Shot Video later.

Her husband met with my boss today and told him that the venture our firm brought to his many moons ago (seems like forever) is now - finally - about to take flight. Our cut isn't going to make anybody rich (not immediately) but it secures a nice revenue stream for us in perpetuity. After 3 straight years of kicks to the #####, redemptions, poor performance, no bonuses, it's nice to notch a win for Meelosh's team. Copper, zinc, palladium, gold...all these metals have an etf. But not uranium. Well, Not. Yet.
:excited: Wait, what about URA?
That's just an ETF of U Miners. As of today, there is not an ETF for physical material, like a GLD or SLV. That's what we've been working on since 2009. I might have to delete this, but I don't care. It's been a long hard journey and we're pretty excited over here.

Are you going to be using water you scooped up out of a bayou in cajun country? No? You'll be using treated water from a first world state? Should be fine.

From what I understand, this Loan Mod program is one of the shadiest things going on in America. The reported hell people go through in this is absolutely astounding. "We lost your file" is thrown around like cheap pick-up lines at Homer's bar. My sister and her STBX (it's been 18 months, no filing for divorce :hot: ) have been doing a Loan Mod for over 2 years. Something ain't right with that. No payments made while this goes on on either the first or the second. How? One more horror story I heard is that in places like Portland, where houses have rebounded 15% in the last few months (no inventory, cheap borrowing terms, houses are being sold within hours of being listed in good neighborhoods), banks that were working with people on Loan Mods are seeing actual equity return in the dwellings and so "Lost Your File" really means we're going to kick you out, sell the house, reclaim all the money you were going to cost and maybe even turn a little profit in the process.

Anyhow, be careful with it Pack. Get out in front of it as much as possible. If you have a friend in the mortgage business, talk to them or talk to somebody asap about what can potentially happen to you. And yes, tell your wife. I'm sorry you're dealing with this, but if you hope that things just 'work out' it would be very wise to prepare for the opposite just in case.

The weekend is here. The semester is done. I gots me a growler of Ithaca IPA. Here's to things looking up. :banned:
I bought a growler last summer, thinking it would be a lot of beer. It's like 3 pints. There's nothing growl about that.
I think 64oz is 4 pints, but yeah. I drank one with dinner last weekend.
I bet I drink a growler before Family Fun Night at our sons' elementary school. :bag:
