I'm so done with magic football. I'd ordinarily have done this but I'm completely burned out. I just don't have the energy or interest in it anymore.

Yeah, her mom lives 5 minutes from me. My daughter was in Maine for 2.5 weeks with both sets of grandparents, then I met up with my parents and her in DC for 4 days. Brought her home for one week of camp and then it was off with her mom for a week in Maine again.

A long stretch for sure, but hopefully one of those summers she remembers for a long time. Next year we might start letting her take a friend to Maine with her when she visits the grandparents to give her someone within 60 years of herself to hang out with

Kind of in the same boat, honestly. I don't think there is any skill left since info is so readily available and every argument is easy to make for or against a player. I literally can make a valid case for any player at most any point in the draft.

But it would be fun with Jim tan so I'm game.

I've mentioned here before I am doing contract work for my old company for 12 weeks (four weeks to go), but that while they are paying me for a minimum of 25 hours per week, they haven't been sending me enough work to get close to that in any week.

Last week, based on the amount of work I actually did and what they paid, I calculated that if I were working a 50-hour week I'd be making $8.4 million a year. This week they've sent me exactly zero hours of work to do, so I guess I'm making the equivalent of infinity dollars per year.

I used to be in 3-4 leagues a year, but these days I'm down to one league that I run for a group of friends from college. I get a lot more excitement out of betting on the games than these leagues. To be honest, I couldn't care less if Brady throws for 15 TDs in a game unless I bet on the Pats, Brady or some of his receivers

I'll go with its mostly luck

Now I would say its 90% luck. I once said that magic football and poker are similar in that there is more luck than good players want to admit and more skill than bad players want to admit.

But there are so few "bad" teams in a league because draft cheat sheets are all pretty good. Unless someone isn't paying attention at all they aren't likely to get stuck with Andre Roberts as their wr1. Some teams will be better because they get some added oomph from somewhere (like peterson as a second rounder last year) but that wasn't skill taking him 20th, it was the "risk vs reward" that had been discussed to death. Skill would be a guy taking him 4th overall because he didn't want to miss him. Alas, it comes down to injuries and who has a big game at the right time.

For 'Mericas birthday, this is what we had, and I didn't start drinking until everybody else was good and buzzed so I actually ate. Of course I think every person at the party asked why I wasn't drinking.

grilled shrimp, scallops and crab cream cheese wrapped in bacon

jalapeno poppers stuffed with little sausages and chedder cheese of course wrapped in bacon

9 racks of ribs

I know there was more but I was kind drunk by the time the ribs got done. My God was it good.

Then that night they had fireworks at night. Good night they had fireworks. Half the houses in the neighborhood had to be lighting them off. It sounded like a warzone. I sat and bull####ed/got wasted with this guy since his daughter took a shine to Dylan. I'm telling you this kid has the kavorka. It was about the cutest damn thing. They sat on the driveway native American style, holding hands, watching the show. My smile was bigger than my sons. I was pretty proud.

Then there this morning my cousin is knocking on my hotel room door...at 7 am. WTF. It seems sombody had issues with cars in the parking lot and decided to bust the driver side window out of my car, my cousins car and 3 others. ####### ##########s didn't even steal anything and my gold clubs were in there. I'm sure there is some crime scene investigation going on, reviewing tapes, dusting for prints etc.

Man....I gotta get out of the uranium biz and into the office supply game.

All that says is that they've dropped the foreclosure judgment (which is or would be recorded with the county recorder) and the lis pendens (which is recorded as part of the property title). That's good news - you're house is apparently no longer in judicial foreclosure - apparently because I have no idea how valid those documents are. You should confirm with the county recorder's office (or whatever the equivalent is in your jurisdiction) that those documents have been properly recorded, so that your title is clear and your house can be sold.

The "without prejudice" part means that they have the right to re-commence the same foreclosure proceedings in the future.

This would seem to be good news, however you'll definitely want to find out why they abandoned foreclosure proceedings that they'd already taken to judgment. You should also consult with a foreclosure attorney (which I am not).

Now, the disclaimer: You're a complete fool if you rely upon my advice or the advice of any other faceless person on the innerwebs who claims they're an attorney.

The cop asks me if anything was stolen and when I replied the Van Goghs I bought yesterday he gave me a look. Which is a shame because I was going to follow up with "my collection of Faberge Eggs." He then tells me that not much was stolen and they even missed $200 in cash in one of the cars. I replied "oh yeah, (turning around) which, uh car was that one?" He at least laughed at that. Mrs. SLB comes out after that and he asked me for my license but my clip was in the room. My cousin says "whichever one of you two has a better record, give him you license". That got an entirely different look.

I just spent 40 minutes on the phone with Delta booking the following:

August 12 - krista, Mr. krista and two cats and a bunch of luggage go from Atlanta to Managua, arriving 8:30 p.m.

August 13 - krista returns from Managua to Atlanta on a 7 a.m. flight with a bunch of empty luggage

August 14 - krista mom and krista stepfather fly from Louisville to Atlanta, with seven-hour layover (during which they will come to Atlanta hotel to help krista with cats and luggage), and then flight from Atlanta to Managua with krista and two more cats

Should be a really fun three days.

Congrats and condolences to those whose wives are having babies. Babies suck. My brother and his wife brought their 9 month old up to the cabin where we were all going to stay from Wed-Sat. Wednesday night the kid cried all night to the point where, at 130am in the middle of nowhere, my brother drove him around in the car for an hour and a half just so he would sleep. The ended up going home Thursday morning.

My freezer produces ice...but it's usually not enough ice to fill an ice chest, and if you empty that ice, you don't have other ice to put in your drinks. Bags of ice are typically $2-3 at the store, plus you have to go there...sometimes it's your only purchase.

Boom - $17 for 100 ice bags shipped. Now I'll always have multiple bags of ice on hand
