GM's thread about nothing (31 Viewers)

Except that's not downtown Memphis. 38103 is the downtown zip code, running from Harbor Town through downtown and down through South Bluffs. I don't know where 38126, the one they list, is. It's pretty ####ty that they would perpetuate the myth by calling that "downtown".
OK, looked it up. The northern part of that zip code is not too bad, but the southern part where you get down by McLemore is :scared: . Unfortunately that's also where the best tourist thing to do in Memphis, the Stax Museum, is.

Don't you have some white flight you need to attend to?
:lmao: I'm pretty sure moving to Nicaragua won't count as white flight. ;)

We are actually going to ATL in less than two hours, flying out with two cats and a whole bunch of crap this evening, then back tomorrow morning, then back to Nica again on Wednesday with the other two cats and whole bunch more stuff. I'm terrified of the next few days. :(

I work on McLemore.

i stepped on a giant bolt sticking out of the concrete in downtown Chicago yesterday. Currently have a marble sized blood blister right on my heel. Let me know if you want pics.

Ordered up an $18 bottle of beer last night. Felt like John Travolta in Pulp Fiction, aghast that a milkshake could cost $5. I just had to experience an $18 bottle of beer. And while it was very good and it was the large sized 22OZ variety, it was not something I'd ever seek out in a store or order up using my own money (was drinking and dining on the gift card from my boss).

Is this normal in the beer nerd circles? Seems egregious to me. I'm sure the mark up was huge at the hotel bar, but I'm guessing he sells his bottles for a lot of money at fine retailers too. My Link
 Might be partly due to being at a hotel bar but it could have been a limited seasonal beer?

Yeah, my local beer nerd shop has a ton of these type of things. Most are closer to $10 but they can get pretty steep.

I noticed last week that our head IT guy has the Cheers theme song as his ring tone. Yet the only time he has ever drank was over 30 years ago at his bachelor party.

http://i.imgur.com/lPboqB0.jpg It seems to have subsided a bit. Not as bulbous as it was last night.
My buddy's dog ran into a bolt that was sticking out too far in downtown Seattle and got the city to pay for his dog's vet bills. He's no lawyer neither, but he fought the law and the dog won.

I bought a $30 bottle of beer at the cascade barrel house when I was down in Portland a couple weeks ago. The worst part? It's named "tangerine dream."

I'd just like to awkwardly remind you all that I am indeed straight.
Tangerine Dream did the soundtrack to Ricky Business, if that's gay you can #### my ####.
