GM's thread about nothing (40 Viewers)

Can I get some backstory on the TRE-flysack rivalry please?
No.
Just to counter him, I'll give it to you.

The guy likes to mock me for whatever reason. He's like my own personal Statler & Waldorf rolled into one (and if you've seen the size of him, there's room for at least ten more angry muppets). Our "rivalry" waxes and wanes with seriousness, but mostly I see it as grumpy love. There's people in the GMTAN I seriously do not like at all, but I don't count Tre among them. We're FB friends and I actually like the big lug under all the curmudgeonly posts. As I said before, I'd gladly grab a beer with him sometime. It ain't his fault he was born a six foot 300lbs walking-talking mutant ****, just like it ain't my fault I was born a wiry half-crazy little pr!ck.

To counter the counter:

I give #### to everyone, including myself and even the untouchable K4 on occasion. Fly either takes it personally more often or says dumb stuff more often. It's all in good fun...for me. Only one of us is ever taking it seriously.

Update on last 15 pages?

Promotion has been an interesting challenge. Manageable, but consuming.

Bigger issue - custody fight over my 4 y.o. Daughter. Handful of you know on FB so no explanation required what she means to me.

Prayers ( ha!) OK good thoughts appreciated. Uphill fight for any single dad but know I am well equipped and resources are available/actively working the issue.

Thoughts/anecdotes/advice offered would be gratefully received. Not here much but value the collective wisdom of GMTAN.
Best of luck buddy.
Yup. Hope it works out for you.
I don't have any kids and I don't practice in the child custody area so I don't have a lot of insight. But if it makes you feel any better at all I can tell you that I have two good buddies who both have won custody battles recently. Traditionally, as many people on this board can attest, it's an area that has been an uphill battle for fathers. If nothing else, just keep reminding yourself that these are winnable.
Yup, it's a different game from 20 years ago. Dads at least ostensibly have equal rights and the gash between her legs doesn't give her special rights. There are some jurisdictions that are still tough on dads, Texas being on I've heard about, but otherwise just participate in their lives, including in "administrative" stuff like registering your kids for school, sports leagues, etc., and of course foot your share of the bills for raising them, and you should get a fair shake as a dad.

Just got an e-mail from Cal's para. He was mad about something inconsequential and told her to F off. I can see my parenting techniques are really paying dividends.

Just.

Kill.

Me.

Now.
There's a very good chance she had it coming. I'm just saying.
:lmao:

She's very sweet and good looking and I would like to make her.......I mean she's very sweet, intelligent and has helped us a lot. :bag:
"Daddy says you'd probably take it in the ###."

At the beginning of every school year I like to go through all of my student information files (electronic) individually. I do this so that I will know ahead of time if the kid has any sort of an issue.

It might be medical, psychological, etc. If there is an issue a little icon will pop up. There's a caduceus for medial issues. There's also a yellow triangle for something learning-wise. My favorite is that if there is any sort of a custody issue ('Timmy's father may only see him on the weekend!' etc) the icon is a black silhouette of a man. It looks like a target to me.

It seems like every third kid has some sort of medical alert. 80-90% are for asthma. There are also alerts for various allergies bee stings, nuts etc. There are also usually a bunch for migraines or just headaches in general. Of course there alerts for more serious things like diabeatus or hemophilia.

Today I came across one I'd never seen before.

"Kailey wears a retainer".

I've got to keep a close on eye on this kid.

You know, if those teeth ever get loose, watch out!

Oh yeah...another great parenting tip.

If your child is leaving a particular school/district over the summer because you're moving or homeschooling your kid (like a weirdo) then do the right thing and notify that said school/district.

Me: Jacob Jones? Jacob Jones? Jacob's not here? He's on my class list but he hasn't been here for the the first 3 days of school. Anybody know him?

Kid: "Yeah. Jacob was here last year and he used to live next door to me.

Me: "used to"?

Kid: Yeah, he moved to Texas back in July.

I'll send it through FB. Oh yeah, never mind.

Forgive my ignorance, but what is a para?
Paraprofessional (teacher's aide, instructional aide, special needs aide etc etc)
Shouldn't Bob have one of those at all times too?
You met her at Coshole.
Yeah, but YRS was Para to us all.
I would welcome her as my new Para because she doesn't have the extreme hate for me that only 25 years of exposure can help build.

I heard he was at the strip club with Uni & Stu.

Ok, I kinda hate stepping in to help, but....Sometimes FB gets a bit funny based on how your settings are

There's a chance that Thorn sent the quest, but Shuke never saw it.

Shuke, check on FB under "messages" on the left. When that opens look in the upper left and select "other"

If that doesn't work, go to friend requests > see all

If that doesn't work, check "settings" under friend requests
