UT is a dry campus.Seriously???I can't believe you didn't think about red wine.We have our monthly birthday lunch at work tomorrow and the theme is "red" - that is, bring red foods.![]()
I love to cook but took about 8 months off from bringing anything to these potlucks due to pregnancy and then having a newborn. But I might like to participate this month. Problem is, I've got nothing in the way of ideas. I've scrapped tomato pie (didn't get to the farmers' market this weekend for good homegrowns) and red velvet anything (already being brought). Am considering a gazpacho but I've never made one.
Any ideas?

Seems improbable, honestly.Dominated 2 drafts last night. Thanks Rud!

Happy Birthday BL!! You get more awesome every day. I know really ugly people get more awesome every day too but this is different somehow. You get awesome like wine gets better or Swiss cheese gets holier. What's with Switzerland anyway? I could go a whole year without even thinking of that country. They should merge with Italy or one of them African countries like Tasmania to be more relevant to the world like you. If Switzerland were overrun with zombies, how long would it take the rest of the world to find out? I think Eskimos need to invade Switzerland because they'd appreciate the different seasons. Unfortunately, we'd then risk all our Eskimos turning into zombies. To tell you the truth, I don't even believe in Eskimos. I do believe in you though! I believe in you and your birthday today!
Believe me, I agree. I work with a bunch of women. You lost me here.We have our monthly birthday lunch at work tomorrow and the theme

QB: Tony Romo, Matt Ryan
RB: Doug Martin, Shane Vereen, Daryl Richardson, Danny Woodhead, Jacquizz Rodgers
WR: Victor Cruz, Cecil Shorts, Torrey Smith, Vincent Brown, Michael Floyd
TE: Jimmy Graham, Jason Witten
PK: Randy Bullock
TD: Seattle Seahawks
Overview:
Congratulations! You seem to have grabbed quality players at every turn of this draft. It's rare indeed to be better than the average team at the three core positions (quarterback, running back and receiver), but we think this team is. Tight end, of course, is also a big plus for this team.
You must be among the favorites in this league and have positioned yourself to grab one of the playoff spots. But before you start engraving the trophy, realize that the draft is not the end of the story. Things can and do go wrong, so you need to remain diligent throughout the year to ensure you remain strong until the playoffs.
Players we particularly like on this team include Jason Witten, Danny Woodhead, Vincent Brown, Michael Floyd, Jacquizz Rodgers, Daryl Richardson, and Randy Bullock. We have all these guys ranked ahead of where they are typically being drafted.
Bottom line: This team is a virtual lock to go to the playoffs.![]()
In any event, we wish you the best of luck. Here's hoping all your weeks are like week 10 of 2012:
Jimmy Graham vs. ATL: 146 receiving yards, 2 TDMatt Ryan vs. NO: 411 passing yards, 3 TD
Torrey Smith vs. OAK: 67 receiving yards, 2 TD
Danny Woodhead vs. BUF: 61 combined yards, 2 TD
Cecil Shorts vs. IND: 105 receiving yards, 1 TD
QB Summary:
We expect Tony Romo to be a solid starter. According to our projections, he's the #6 QB, so you should be better off than most teams in the starting quarterback slot.
Matt Ryan, who we have rated as the #7 QB, is a nice backup and could conceivably emerge as either a starter for your team or, if Romo plays as expected, some tempting trade bait for teams with quarterback troubles.
Incidentally, Ryan has what we project as a good matchup (TB) during Romo's bye.
A quick note about the Romo/Jason Witten hookup you've got here: while we think the effect of the quarterback/receiver hookup has largely been exaggerated in fantasy football circles, it does have a tendency to make your team somewhat more inconsistent than comparable scoring duos from different NFL teams. But if you like the players at both ends of the connection, we do not see any need to make a change because of it.
RB Summary:
Obviously, Doug Martin is a great way to anchor any RB group. We've got him ranked #3 at the position, and by our reckoning he gives you about a 1.2 point advantage over an average team in the first RB slot.
We see Shane Vereen as an average second running back. Daryl Richardson is an excellent RB3. Danny Woodhead looks great as a fourth running back. Jacquizz Rodgers is also a very nice RB5.
Note that the above "thoughts" were generated by David Dodds's projections. Others have different takes:
Some members of our staff have Shane Vereen ranked as high as 16th, which would make him an above average second running back. Matt Waldman defends his high ranking as follows: "Vereen has promise as a good flex-play, but the backfield is so crowded in New England that it has been hard to vouch for him other than potential. Now that Hernandez is in jail and Woodhead is gone, I think Vereen becomes that versatile go-to guy in New England. This makes him both a compelling yardage and PPR player. My projected touchdown totals have Vereen in the upper echelon of RB2s. This is his upside so if you're drafting Vereen, you're probably waiting on him as a low-end RB2, high-end RB3 but this is where I value his production."
WR Summary:
We have Victor Cruz ranked #10 at the position. So while he's passable as a first receiver, he doesn't look particularly thrilling. But we do like your depth at WR, so we're not concerned about it.
Cecil Shorts should be a good second receiver; he's a likely flex starter. Torrey Smith is also a very nice WR3. Tough to do better than Vincent Brown at WR4. Michael Floyd is also a very nice WR5.
Note that the above "thoughts" were generated by David Dodds's projections. Others have different takes:
Victor Cruz is ranked #8 by some of our writers, which would make him a fine first receiver. Jeff Pasquino reasons, "The New York Giants have two strong wide receivers who can stretch the field in Cruz and Nicks, but Cruz is more versatile out of the slot. Cruz is pushing for a new contract and his play this season could have a lot to do with it. Eli Manning is a solid quarterback without too many options behind both of these two, which makes both receivers solid candidates for WR1 fantasy numbers."
Some members of our staff have Cecil Shorts ranked as high as 16th, which would make him an above average second receiver. Matt Waldman defends his high ranking as follows: "If Shorts was on a mid-tier team like Miami, Indianapolis, Washington, or San Diego, he'd be a top-12 fantasy threat. Until the quarterback situation improves, he's a nice big-play option but still an untapped talent. I think he'll improve his production for a third consecutive year, but he still remains outside the WR1 tier. "
TE Summary:
As you are well aware, Jimmy Graham is an elite tight end. We have him ranked first overall at the position. He's about 4.6 points per game better than an average starting TE in this league. Jason Witten is another viable starting tight end in this league, and he'll likely play a big role as a flex starter.
Kicker Summary:
With Randy Bullock, you should be above average at the position.
Defense Summary:
The Seahawks are our #1 ranked defense, so you're in good shape here.

OK, if you watched the first season of Hannibal, you know that Mads Mikkelson playing Lecter is ominous and creepy as ####. Well now there's a Tumblr that asks the all-important question, "What if Hannibal told lame jokes instead of implying cannibalism?"
I don't know if it's just me or what, but I was absolutely rolling at these...the reactions are priceless.
Here you go.
