GM's thread about nothing (28 Viewers)

Yup. Complete and utter insanity. At some point, we'll get some roosting. And god help us when we do.
Why spend all that time setting up market expectations that you were going to do this and THEN decide against it? This was your best opportunity to initiate. Does he somehow think it's going to become less painful? Is this simply about legacy protection? WTF?

I think he's kicking the can down the road. Human nature, IMO. I'll say this...our next president has to be literally insane to want the job. What if nobody runs?

But whether he starts unwinding it now or leaves it to Yellen to do so, he's going to be judged on what the QE itself brings. This is going to change nothing.

So, Hillary it is.

He was like a bizarro Mark McGwire when they asked if it was his idea to step down or if Obama told him to step down and if he would consider staying on for another term: "I'm not gonna talk about my future plans, I'm just here to talk about policy"

Hey GMTAN - I’m basically a lurker but I am online acquaintances with several of you in some way.

I have what I believe to be a lawyer type question.

If the GMTAN lawyers don't have the time or the inclination or enough facts to answer me that’s cool.

My question:

My ex-wife has horrible credit, is trying to lease an apartment and asked me to cosign with her.

The leasing agent at the apartment tells me I will be on the lease.

Could someone give me an idea of my risk/liability if the ex breaks the lease, gets evicted, moves out in the dark of the night, etc? - Historically there is a possibility something like that will happen.

I have custody of our kid and she lives with me so that is not a factor. My ex has a child from another relationship, I do feel for that kid and that's the only reason I've gone this far in the process.

This is in Indiana if that matters.

Is there a simple answer worth the price I am willing to pay ($0)?

TIA

If you co-sign the lease you are ultimately responsible for anything she ####s up or does not pay for pertaining to that lease.

Just offer her some cash to help her out and it will be much cheaper in the long run, considering her history.

I am not a lawyer, but I once dated a girl that's more attractive than Tara's mouthpiece on Sons of Anarchy

:goodposting:

Don't allow your signature anywhere near that lease given her apparent history. If you want to informally promise to help her out, then you can do that verbally if and when she needs it and on your own terms without worrying about a landlord suing for past due rent or your credit score getting hurt.

Just cut a nut off instead

So at the wedding I ran into one of my wife's cousins, who is in culinary school, and I asked him how to make my favorite dish, veal picatta. It's actually a lot easier than I thought. This works for both veal and chicken:

You take the veal or chicken and pound it until it's thin, then you put flour on it. Put some butter in a pan and fry the veal until it's lightly browned on both sides. Then you stick the veal in the oven and bake it at 400. In the pan that has butter and flour left in it, you add a generous amount of white wine, lemon juice, and capers, and simmer at a low heat. The more butter, the thicker the sauce. (You can use olive oil instead of butter if you want.) Once the veal or chicken is fully cooked, you pull it out of the oven, and pour the sauce over it. Simple!

Tried it the other night, with a green salad. Delicious.

GM will be here any minute to ask you why you had to drive your wife and daughter to get their hair did. ;)

Asked and answered.

Remember that guy who responded to craigslist ads for stuff and got the sellers to engage in ludicrous email question-answer series of exchanges? I can't find that compilation and I need a link. Thanks.

It looks like I'm a liar.

Miss had tests that show she is pregnant but her ultrasounds showed nothing. It seems it's the same thing that happened last time where she miscarried very early on but her body still reacts like she's pregnant.

Thanks to those for the positive thoughts.
Stupid human body and all it's weirdness.

:lmao:

I chased him all over the innernets until he told me. The answer made no sense, but at least I have some sort of closure.

And I like Tim. Sue me.

Sucks, dude. Hope it works out for y'all.

Not to be a Doosh but tomorrow we go for the 3d to see Hattie John for the first time. It's my wife's birthday too. I'm marginally excited.
