GM's thread about nothing (37 Viewers)

Did a little voiceover work for United Way Austin today. They told me that I was the best of the seven volunteers they brought in to record that day. So you can add that to the list of things that I'm good at but not good enough at to get someone to pay me to do it along with conference emcee.

Also found out that I really need to be working on an MBA (not necessarily finish, but work on it) if I want this VP job when the current guy retires. The thing is that I REALLY don't want to make the effort to pursue an MBA.
I'd like to do voice over work too. Teach me?
1. Read your script out loud several times before you record.2. Don't #### up your lines.

3. Don't sound like an #######.

That will be $19.95. We accept PayPal and Best Buy coupons.
How much for you to do my voice mail greeting? You've reached the voice mailbox of <guster>

This isn't actually <guster>, it's his friend from the Internet Bentley

Well, we did meet face to face this one weekend when a bunch of people from a magic football message board... never mind, that's not important.

<guster> isn't answering your call right now, probably out of apathy but possibly out of spite. Feel free to leave a message so he can ignore that too

"It was bromance at first sight. But enough about us, leave a message or not. He won't listen to it but he might call you back if he recognizes the number."

I'm not nearly so stressed about the move back as I was about the move here (a lot less work), but at T-30 hours I am getting a bit upset. Totally good with the decision to move back, but the stress of trying to pack up all this ####, three flights back and forth in 48 hours, and dealing with Nicaraguan and US customs with these cats has me pretty down. Seems petty in light of Imp's news, but good wishes are appreciated.
I probably missed it, but what city did you choose?

Announce - I put $2.50 in the gas tank this morning. My intention was to put in $10 but I forgot I used the $10 bill I had the other day on the way back from a business trip. Present Fuel Level: "Low"

I'm also 1-5 in my 3 fantasy leagues combined. In my 24 team dynasty league (where I have heretofor been dominant) I lost to a team without a starting Quarterback. Down is up, up is down.

Everyone go out there and have a great day!

Credit card down?

we probably should have drafted more RBs. wish trading wasn't so tedious.

I dont have a credit card at the moment, although I did just apply for one to use for gas and business trips only. It should be here in a week or so.

Miss had tests that show she is pregnant but her ultrasounds showed nothing. It seems it's the same thing that happened last time where she miscarried very early on but her body still reacts like she's pregnant.

Thanks to those for the positive thoughts.
Sorry to hear, that is the suck. My ex and I went thru 4 miscarriages before our son was born.

If you're serious, I can help you.
IN!
I'll put together a post that would make Guster proud.

Haven't yet. Going to Atlanta initially because it's easiest (nonstop flight from Managua) and will stay in a hotel there about six weeks while deciding where to go from there.

Damn. Things must have been pretty bad if you just want out without a destination instead of staying in the house for 6 more weeks while figuring things out.

 No, we really can't figure it out from here. I don't know a lot about Atlanta and want to check it out more--see some real neighborhoods and such. Same with New Orleans, Austin or other spots in consideration.

I also wanted to get back more quickly as one of my jobs would like me to travel to NY some, which is a bit of a pain from here.

There is a great local restaurant/bar in the buckhead section -- Atkins Park -- owned/managed by my aunt. Lemme know if you will be in the neighborhood, and I'll give her a heads-up that you are coming.

Sorry to hear. I went through that sort of thing when the ex was going through fertility treatments. Lots of false alarms, including one after we'd told both families and gotten them all excited.
The worst one for us was when after we'd shelled out 30 grand for treatments to have JR, Angrywife got pregnant the old fashioned way. We waited until it was "safe" and told everyone and then she had a miscarriage. On the bright side, Yuke was $10K cheaper than his brother.
Sweet baby Santa Jebus. :jawdrop:
The only thing I have going for me is that I'm going to blow these kids' minds when we talk about how babies are made.

"You see, mommy's in stirrups in a sterile room with a bunch of medical professionals while daddy's in the bathroom with a plastic cup watching a video of a naughty real estate agent who is showing her father's best friend the bedroom in his new house..."

Then I'm going to show them the baby photos of themselves when they were an eight-cell mass. Should be a good time.
There's nothing quite like being in a small room smack in the middle of a busy (and noisy) fertility clinic looking at someone else's porn while you jerk off knowing 1) that everyone knows what you're doing in there and 2) you have to bring them your still warm prize afterwards. I'm amazed that I performed actually.

That would make it even better.

I have been on level 65 of Candy Crush for about 3 weeks. I figured I just wasn't applying myself so I did a little research. It would appear level 65 stumps some people for MUCH MUCH longer than 3 weeks.

What is Candy Crush?

I think I only really started playing 3 weeks ago and I am on level 97. Don't think any level has really stumped me so far. And what kind of research can you do on a game that is based on a random ordering of pieces.

One thing I have noticed though, is that you can play 5 lives on FB, and then still have 5 lives on your phone. There were some levels that I got stuck on playing on the phone, and then when I switched to FB they were really easy, like the board had an extra row in it.

That's impressive. There was one other level (32?) thatI was stuck on for about 10 days.

the levels get much harder. 65 is nothing.

I'm on 266 after playing the game for a couple months. getting sick of the really hard boards though so haven't played at all the past week.

We're staying in Buckhead! That would be awesome.

That seems like Krista's personal business.

Yeah, that's where I saw that link. Chase is a doofus. Barnwell's not always right about everything (his insistence on "NO SAFETY" bets in the Super Bowl = lolz), but he has a point about Richardson lacking big-play ability.

Oh, I don't care. I actually secured a place to live before I moved out. We stayed together while we negotiated the divorce. Took 3 months to complete and the day after it was finalized, I moved into my new spot. Hardest thing I've ever had to do. Brutal. And we hated each other.

But that ABC after school special.... :lmao:

I learned everything I need to know about being a grownup from After-School Specials.

Oh and not sure if you paid attention to the story about my friend Jim and his upcoming divorce but he was stuck in his house for at least two weeks after his wife "kicked him out". I put him in touch with my brother who had a room to rent.

Jim couldn't thank me enough. You would have thought I'd given Jim both and my kidneys and a tug-job.

When my ex and I were doing in-vitro, the attractive nurse at the clinic let me into the room and pointed at the pile of magazines. She said, "Let me know if that doesn't do it for you...we've got some more hardcore stuff that we don't leave out, and there are a couple DVDs--mostly lesbian, I think."

I could have finished right then.

Pretty brutal. By the end of things for us, we were both basically revenge dating other people. If I had to do it all over again, I'd live under a bridge.

Man, I've always wanted to live in a hotel. That's what Rick Majerus did. Seemed to work out well for him.
Didn't that almost happen to you a few years back?
:lmao:

WHY ARE YOU SO MEAN TO ME!
:lmao: Oh come on. I always wait a couple of years before I start to jab.

Plus that was too easy.

"Well, frankly Joey, I didn't really live there. That's just where the ho's stopped by."

Lucky *******. I had Col. Klebb showing me in with all the warmth and sex appeal of Dolf Lundgren.
