GM's thread about nothing (60 Viewers)

You ever get so drunk at work event and flirty with a young co workEr that you just want to bang the girl and tape it and text that video to gmtan guys and maybe write about poem about the young girl and her boobs and maybe a random monkey just because? Me too. Frigging monkeys.

So Miss and I were asked to leave the train for being a little too drunk...and handsy. Seems the cameras actually work on public transit because we thought we were alone.

Fair to say that happens to all of us on a pretty regular basis.

I has a sad.
Ugly loss but FSU looks legit.
All shtick aside, I'm impressed. Winston is the real deal. Helps that he has a WR core of just pure beasts, but he still put it exactly where it needed to go. Were I not pulling for Clemson, I would have had a great night watching him. He really is spectacular. FSU is way more talented than we are and tonight we were even out coached. There is a part of me that is a little glad because we would have no business skipping Oregon, but I think this legit FSU team deserves to do so.

Spent the afternoon at a Pappy Van Winkle tasting, meeting many members of the family and getting way more pours of Pappy 20 that I was allotted. They also had an awesome cheese table. Yay
Please tell me they had a case of Mexican. Coke iced down next to the cheese. Anyone who cant understand pappy and coke is better than pappy and cheese has sensor6 malfunction

Visiting my dad yesterday was both good and odd. My mother, her sister, and I went together. When we got into his wing, they had a Jim Carrey movie on in the lobby. Dad, who I doubt knew who Carrey was when he was lucid, was sitting right up front watching. We had brought some things for his room (folding chairs, big wall clock), so mom rousted him away from the movie and we went back to his room for a bit. "The Alamo" was on TV and I was a little surprised that he was content to watch it. Before he left home, TV just confused him - he couldn't follow and wasn't sure whether the actor's voices were in the house or not. Now, he can keep up even if he doesn't know the plot.

Anyway, one of the nurses (attendants? technicians? what are they called?) came by and said the Oktober Fest party was on. It took place outside of his (secure) wing amongst the general population. There was a really old guy playing keyboards of stuff like "In The Mood" and "Danke Shein". They had a full bar set up and the ladies working there brought around trays of different snacks. My aunt & I pounded some beer and dad ate every damned thing they offered. I went to the bar one time to get another round - shocking, I know - and one resident shook my hand, offered his name, and said "this is the first Scotch I've had in 25 years". I have no idea if it was true or not but that dude, next time I saw him, was dancing with several of the ladies.

My aunt had to leave, and we took dad back to his room. He had eaten a metric tonne of food, but he was chattering for about an hour. His sentences start out understandable but degenerate into nonsense (reminds me in a strange way of Eddie Murphy doing James Brown without the blackness or rhythm). I could see my mom watching him, waiting for him to drift off in his recliner. I think she was worried that I was antsy to leave but it was kind of nice. He would point at the ceiling and say "they made this a really nice place" or "those pictures (pics that he took) are really nice" or "that chap just bit the dust" (the Western on TV). He also complimented me on my shoes (that I spent $20 on at Peebles) - I think he was sizing them up for theft

Eventually he went to sleep and mom gave me the signal that we should leave. When we got back to her house, she said with tears in her eyes "I feel like a coward leaving when he goes to sleep but I hate lying to him".

So, at mom's, we ate crab cakes for dinner and watched some CFB. Also drank a little bit (heard a shocking bit of news about a friend of the family who has passed). I'm home now, after dodging deer for 2.5 hours this morning on the way back.

I guess I should've hidden this in spoiler tags, but don't know how. Posting things like this help me organize this stuff in my own mind. Sorry for the length.

Oh, and sorry I missed a certain GMTAN call yesterday. Was tied up with the above and I hope all is ok.

Glad the visit was okay for you bill. It is a hard transition I know, but being able to have some good memories with your dad even now is better than the alternative.

It's funny - he's not really my father anymore, but he still has the same mannersisms sometimes. Hard to explain.

My aunt - who has worked with disabled people her entire adult life - put it in a way that made sense to me: "It's like layers of Swiss Cheese where the holes sometimes line up and the information drops to where it should; most times it doesn't make it all the way".

:( Love you man.

Man, my facebook wall is littered with Red Sox fans/cocksuckers. I'm glad we're all behind STL in here.
What happened to the filter? I have to keep going in and #### my own stuff.
Who are you, the cops?
lol - no, just an observation.
You're an observation?
You're a towel.

When my son showers with me, he gets out of the shower behind me, gets in a ball on the floor wrapped in his towel, and says, "I'm a talking towel."

Cracks me up every time.

You'll all be happy to know that I just showered, so the garbage fire has NOT been upgraded to manure fire.

That is all.
I was trying to figure out how the hell you were up at this hour, but then realized that you probably were just going to bed.
Yeah, I decided to just stay up as long as I can and try to get beck to a normal human sleep pattern.

Might have to start drinking though. :banned:

I'm sure there's a grunge band doing Silver Chair covers up in Everett for you to check out, Ace.
