We got free chair massages, hearing tests, cholesterol checks and other assorted health-related things today at work. If we added meditation and drinking it would probably be a typical day at the office for Guster.

The massage was given by a guy with a creepy mustache. He had me get on the chair and I said "hey I have a meeting in 25 minutes so no happy ending today" He didn't laugh or smile, just replied "ok". When I walked out my boss was standing there and he asked me "hey, did it move?" I said "not only did it not move, it retracted like turtle putting his head in his shell"

I had a great day today. Played in the local restaurant association's golf tournament which featured coolers full of beer at every tee box and Texas based distillers at every third tee box. The distillers all had obligatory hot sales chicks in their tents slinging free shots. The client that we played with is part owner of all the Krispy Kreme stores in central and south Texas so I also got coupons for a bunch of free donuts. My actual golf game is still terrible, but who cares.

So I was in the waiting room yesterday at the hospital and two very nice old women were sitting there chatting. One was telling the other how she had just received a new heart, that she was on the list for over a year and how great she feels. There was some more small talk and then the one woman asked the one with the new heart, " so did you get one of those donated hearts?"

I burst out laughing, and couldn't look at them.

The woman answers, "well that's the only way to get one", the other replied " well ya, I guess that's true"

I've thought about that. We'll see how it goes. His teacher said there are assignments that should take 25 minutes and he's done in 3. She was showing us his work and was literally like " I mean look at this! Three minutes! Some of the kids didn't even finish!".

We talked tonight about giving him extra math to do keep him busy because he likes it so much. He whistles and sings doing his homework and just knocks it out. He makes it easy being a dad.

BTW, on a totally unrelated note, the golf tournament ran about 90 minutes longer that I thought it would. Mostly because everyone was drunk by the back nine and most of the guys spent several minutes hitting on the liquor girls instead of teeing off. That made Angrywife 90 minutes late for her monthly happy hour with a bunch of women that she used to work with. So, she's not exceptionally happy with me right now.
