GM's thread about nothing (13 Viewers)

Does anyone in here actively post on twitter? I think I follow a few of you and the GMTN twitter.
I post somewhat frequently, but mostly boring tweets about the Red Sox and retweets of other people's stuff

I do. Mostly about Liverpool FC, the Texas Rangers, how much Mack Brown sucks and philanthrophy in Austin. And retweeting the stuff that I find funny. @jbentley813

Morning update - JR tried to push Yuke into the cactii in the flower department. Then we went to ##### sporting goods and tried to smack each other with baseball bats. Now in Petco. Yuke seemed committed to tapping on the glass of every pet cage in here.

Might want to avoid the Snake Farm, GB.

Lots of Halloween costume contests at bars tonight. One of my favorite nights of the year, when slutty outfits are not only encouraged but rewarded. And its ok to randomly walk up to a girl in a slutty outfit and say "hey can I take your picture?" And they always happily agree. Merry Christmas everybody!!!!!

Two weeks ago when I was leaving the office, I had the feeling I was being watched. I looked all around me and up in the air. Didn't see anybody/anything and thought I was really being paranoid. Then I get an e-mail from my Dad this morning that a drone was spotted above our building last week. It hovered there for a couple of minutes then took off. :oldunsure:
Before my company moved to VA, our office in MD was less than a mile from NSA. Talking on mobile phones was always interesting as conversations were interrupted by clicks every few seconds.
Better than Hellfire missiles I guess.

Question for the lawyers...

Do lawyers usually have each others back?

I ask because (and Thorn has helped me here) when my house went into foreclosure I hired a lawyer to help out. To make a long story short (Sort of), I met with her on July 3rd), while I was there she looked up my case and found that on the 2nd, my case was processed and that she would have to petition the court to reopen it. She charged me $775.

On July 6th, I received a letter stating that the bank had petition to stop the Liz Pendens, and let me proceed with a Loan Mod.

On Monday July 8th, I called my lawyer and told her about the letter and she was surprised but said it was good news and to email it to her. She also stated she stopped by the judges chambers that morning but found that he was on vacation the whole month of July. I emailed her the letter and asked her to advise.

She never replied and I had no contact with her after that.

In early August I was notified by the bank that my Loan Mod was approved after a lot of communication by me and the bank.

After consulting with Thorn he said I could send her a letter asking to close my case and return any unused funds with a detailed bill.

I did that and received a check for $15. All the bill states is that it was a Foreclosure case and that she charged me $10 for office supplies.

I want to consult a lawyer for his opinion on getting my money back because she did absolutely nothing for me, but I am worried if I do, that lawyer will let her know and she will get me a modified bill.

I realize for this amount it would be small claims, but that money would come in handy.

How can she justify this? The folder she sent back has no record of her doing anything and there was only two days of communication with me.

tl:dr, sorry

Listen, here's the thing. If you can't spot the person being watched by the NSA in the first half hour at the office, then you ARE the person being watched by the NSA.

You don't need to consult with a lawyer. Write her a letter demanding return of your fees and stating the reasons why. Indicate that you expect them returned to you within 10 days or you will write a complaint to the state bar (or county bar, whichever is the enforcement arm in your jurisdiction) and you will seek recovery in small claims court.

As far as your original question goes, most lawyers wouldn't tell her you'd consulted with them about her, the only possible exception being someone who happened to be a close friend of hers. If I was the lawyer in that situation and was close enough to her to be tempted to tell her, I'd simply advise you up front that I couldn't take your case and I'd keep my mouth shut. A complaint about $775 isn't exactly a calamity waiting to happen.

Really dumb crock pot question. I've only ever used for meatballs. Anything i need to know about cooking chicken breast in it? Put in honey bbq sauce, pile in the chicken breast, set and forget. Right? Does the chicken need to be moved around during the slow cooking process?

Never cooked a chicken breast in a slow cooker, but would imagine it's the same process for everything else. Low and slow, leave the lid on. Also big believer in lightly wadding up some tin foil at the bottom of the pot. Does something with the heat bouncing around a bumpy surface or some such. You think I suck at spelling, you should see my deficiencey in physics/science.

Brown it first. Shred and mix with teh juice when done.

Getting ready to head out and drink with whorrish looking women. Building a base by eating some cold pizza and drinking a bud light.

Was gonna stay in and drink, but got convinced to head out earlier this afternoon. Having no costume, I hit the local liquor store and spent $1.79 on a glow-in-the-dark necklace with a shot glass attached. I'll be wearing that with an all black outfit... "a shot in the dark." I'm punny

Is the shredding your personal preference, or will not be as good if I put the breasts in whole?

I find this brilliant. Then again I'm pretty sure I'm dumber than GM so don't get excited about my compliments.

OMG that's genius.

Austin/TX people - is Hopdoddy any good?
Widely considered the best burger in town by burger snobs. I've never had it because there's always been a pretty big line when I've tried and I'm not waiting a half hour in line for a hamburger. I feel the way about Home Slice pizza, although I've had that one a few times from their "to go" stand next door.

Agreed. Although with the "x2" above I was hoping for both a slut and a pumpkin.

chicken breast will dry out quick. Recommend 6 hours max if you're using frozen breasts - 4 hours max if thawed. You can always check and cook longer if necessary

Thanks TB

I thought maybe a letter from a lawyer would do the trick, but maybe i'll try my own first.

I just can't believe she is trying to screw me over like this

My opinion is that with chicken you need to shred just before eating and let the meat get in those juices. Sitting in the crock all day can dry chicken out
