Good. The turkey was delicious, my wife and sister in law drank almost 3 bottles of wine between the two of them and both passed out, and me and my brother in law ended up playing Tecmo Super Bowl.

hey guys. I've been battling a ton of #### lately and not had much time to hang out much.

We had a big flood here last week and I found out today that the lady that cleans rooms here lost everything. She's probably about 35, married with a 2 & 5 year old. They had an apartment in the flood plain on Onion Creek and a wall of water rushed through it, four foot deep. They lost everything they had: clothes, furniture, etc., and both their cars were found destroyed about half a mile away.

They are now living with their in-laws - nine people in a 2/1 apartment.

I have a friend who owns a car lot and and he has a crappy old ####box van he just took in on a trade that he is going to sell me for the $600 he gave on trade-in. That will at least allow her husband to get to work Wednesday and maybe keep his job. We will pick her up/take her home to keep working here (with a $2/hr raise). We are also going to Kohl's tomorrow to buy them some clothes. I can probably hustle and find what furniture I cannot provide them, but they are going to need $3K to get another apartment. I'm broke and doing all I can but I cannot come close to helping the out on that.

So if any of you are feeling particularly benevolent, maybe you could send some donations this way to help out. I'll send out boxes of crap with at least one failed venture article of clothing included (WineBat and UHEM fans take note) for each donation of $100 or more.

Most of you have my phone and/or address to contact me, otherwise you can PM me here. I can even run credit cards if you want to do it that way. My phone is 5 one dozen 444 54hundred.

The only time I ever quit for any substantial period of time since i was 15 years old was a three year period in 2001 where I went from a pack and a half a day to zero, cold turkey. I am trying to remember what that was like and how I did that because at the time it seemed like no big deal and this time is making me want to go nuts. I spent all day Sunday working in the yard, sipping on beers and that usually would call for a couple during the day. It's worst when I get home after work and crack a beer and usually subsides once I eat dinner. Problem is that I usually am not hungry until 7 or 8. :gnashing teeth:

Best thing you can do. Keep at it. When my old man quit, he popped a piece of chewing gum every time he got that urge. Not nicotine gum, just regular gum. It gave him something else on which he could focus the habitual tendencies and seemed to work quite well. He went cold after about 40 years and 3+ packs daily.

I have a kid and another on the way and I want to see her grow up. I also went to a wedding last weekend with my closest friends from college. 2 of the guys used to always be outside with me smoking....this time their wives were giving me hell about not quitting yet like the other grownups.
