There are a crap ton of cedar trees on capital of Texas highway in Austin. About 8-15 feet tall. Hundreds of them. Well, it's become a tradition for "people" to decorate them like Christmas trees this time of year. Actually looks pretty cool driving through miles and miles of decorated Christmas trees.
Who takes the decorations down?
"People."Duh.
:goodposting: "People" are always doing stuff.

At one point on Sunday, my magic football team had a 0.4% chance of winning. Ended up winning by 4 points. I give all credit to football talk here in the thread.

Slightly related news: Resse's Power snuck out a close win as well. But I'm sure that they will be destroyed this week.
Infidel!

Have these people getting carried away with elves on shelves been addressed yet? Do they not realize the #### they do has consequences for the rest of us?

"Little Johnny's elf made elf doughnuts for him and his sister because they were so good. And Chartreuse's elf undecorated her tree last night. Julia's elf brought her a note. How come my elf hasn't done any of that?"

"Based on the recycle bin, it seems like your elf got into a bottle of Pritchard Hill last night. She was probably sleeping it off. "

I hate you people. :finger:
Is this the little bendable elf that my stupid sister-in-law keeps putting up pictures of on her Facebook? What the #### is that all about?
Some chicks are trying too make a bunch of money off of Christmas by getting kids to get their parents to buy them stuffed elves. Parents have to be parents and take it to the next level. At this point, for way too many of them, it's more about the parents than the kids.I'm easily annoyed, so this bothers me.

Well, that and my daughter being a social butterfly who feels like she's missing out on something because, "She's THE ONLY ONE in her class without an elf. "

Yeah, I'm sure the Weinsteins have an elf.
Oh, OK. Sounds awful. My SIL has some elf-thing that she keeps putting in different made-up situations and posting a picture of it on Facebook every day. Like, in the wine bottles deciding between red and white. It's horrible. She's pretty horrible, too, yet somehow a bit better than my brother.
Yeah, that's the one.
 So it's a thing? Not just her being particularly dumb?

I weep.
All over Facebook. Google search took me here: http://www.pinterest.com/jhudziak/crazy-elf-on-the-shelf-pics/
Oh yes, that's it! Luckily she seems to be the only person on my Facebook that I've seen do it. I've been (mostly) spared, I guess.

I hate those pictures she posts more than I hate genocide, kitten-killers, mosquitoes, people who make spelling and/or grammatical errors in their thread titles, and that GMTANner I don't like, combined. :(
I don't actually have a problem with the Elf on the Shelf. I mentioned in the thread about it that my sister does it for her stepdaughter and she gets really creative. She has a lot of fun with it and my niece is beside herself with giddiness every morning. In my experience, the people on my FB who post pictures of their elf are the people whose posts typically drive me crazy anyway.

I don't have a creative bone in my body and that whole Pinterest thing overwhelms me, so our house will likely be elfless.
I bet there would be a long line of men here willing to put a creative bone in your body.

I thought he meant autographed by frosty. :lmao:
Explaining this assumption... I autographed a Robert Parish basketball card for Zooks. Think it said "Love you, Chief".
Wait a second......that wasn't really from Parish? Does this mean he doesn't really love me?

Reverse jinx activated. It's the best I can do at this point for the team.

We start Chad Henne these days. I spit on your reverse jinx attempt after you got 14 TDs from Jamal Charles last week

:lmao:

Speaking of that...when did it become de rigueur for football players to hold hands? I mean like the 4 captains walking out for the coin toss or the entire team taking the field. I started to notice high school teams do it in the mid-90s. They had my kids do it when they played youth ball. Now pro teams do it in the shower? Whiskey Tango Fagtrot?

Back when I played in HS we never would have dreamed of holding hands in or out of the shower. Coach Stagg would have kicked out ### if we had done that.

I've been out delivering gifts to all of my clients the last 4-5 days. Some of them are at a hospital in the same buildings. So I'm not walking back and forth from car, I brought one gift in and set it outside the door, and then delivered the other one. Chatted for a bit, and she let me out a side door. I go to retrieve the gift, wrapped in brown paper, and there are people walking towards me. I pick it up and keep walking all in one motion. This younger gal coming the other way saw this and looked at me like "um, yeah WTF was that all about?!!". lol
You should have started running.
:lmao:

Her eyes widedned a bit and she had a half smile on her face. I just kept walking without making eye contact like I was up to something.

Yes, yes, and yes.

Don't think I'll be invited back to Microsoft for any future speaking engagements. I think I sufficiently pisssed off the other presenter by not talking about Microsoft at all and instead talking about sales and marketing. He has talked about that too but his presentation was boring and mine was awesome (channeling my inner Bentley). All 18 attendees asked for a business card from me though, which is awesome.

Zooks, did you ever send checks for your HR pool?
I was trying to hold off to avoid paying you since you might die soon since you've been having chest pains and stuff and 3 out of every 4 people you know seem to die......but apparently NOTHING CAN KILL YOU!!!!!

But funny you mention the checks, I did successfully create a PayPal account after giving up on PayPal a couple years ago when I kept screwing up the signup process with different email addresses. Not sure why, but for some reason it was like PayPal was NetFlix and I was slightly tanned GM. Anyhoos..... you, Frosty, Gusty and COS pm me your emails and I will utilize the magical PayPal. (thats how it works, right? I put in your email and money magically goes to your bank account?)

I just wish I had thought up that Elf on a Shelf thing. Actually I just wish I could come up with some bull#### product that people think they need and make millions.

Somewhere there's a guy out there sleeping on a bed of money thanks to the Pool Noodle.
