The sauce is very addicting. The food is pretty good, but really on the salty side. I'm always a bit thrown off that there isn't any variety. Chicken strips, fries, cole slaw, toast. That's it. Not sure why I would want anything else, but I would at least like the option. Not that it matters. I dump the sauce on everything.
I LIKE CHICKEN! I LIKE CHICKEN!

Clark: "Lewis, where is cockforsaken ####-damned ocean?"

Lewis: "I'll be cockblasted if I know, Clark."
Clark: I hope you get male blue waffle for banging all them buf'lo.

Ethics complaint? For a low settlement offer?

If that was the case I'd have been disbarred years ago.
He probably meant because he openly said he was on our side and upset with the company he is representing.
That's window dressing. He's buttering you up. I've said stuff like that before too to build rapport or to placate someone who's pissed.
My thought as well.

Oh and head lice. There's a 50-50 chance your kid(s) is going to come home with head lice. Doesn't matter how clean you keep your kids or your house. When it happens PM me and I'll tell you my sure-fire method of getting rid of them.
####### lice. My daughter's school had a constant battle with these things, and we got an email about twice a week about checks, kids all being sent to the nurse, etc. Finally after about two months my daughter got the damn things. Paid $300 to some place that specializes in getting rid of them.

Makes my skin crawl just thinking about it.
When this happens in the Sweet J household, two things happen:

1. The clippers come out for the boys (me and the boy), and the scissors for the girls. You HAVE to hold firm on this. No objections.

2. We nuke the f^ck out of or hair. Whatever I can buy at the CVS that comes closest to Agent Orange, we are using. Multiple applications, and if the label says "wait two weeks between applications" that meens apply once now, once in a week, and again in another week.

The kids' mom talks about using vasoline, or olive oil or whatever, and a nit-picking comb. Bah. Heavy chemicals.
 my method gets rid of them without paraquat or whatever.
By all means, don't tell us the method.
Listerine.
Close. 20% alcohol mouthwash and white vinegar are the main components.

I jump in the shower thinking desperately what it could be... I drink way too damn much but I dont FEEL anything... My God I need to change my lifestyle.. I'm too old for this... what am I doing to myself...etc etc etc...

The GF comes into the bathroom and it hits me...

Was just contacted by the Venetian in Vegas. It seems someone with my name left two credit cards from my same bank behind last weekend. I have never been there. Was afraid I had been rudnicki'd until I realized I have no money and anyone trying to pay with cards stolen from me woulld find the joke is on them.

Bob, there's a lot more to it than this. If I understand you correctly you're negotiating with the business guy directly, with no attorneys directly involved, right?

If so don't just give him a number. Keep him talking about the fact that this premature cancellation of the contract is going to be a hit for your business too. I would also emphasize to him - gently at this point - that even that 30% number isn't going to make you whole (if indeed that's that case - if that's a great number for you then skip that).

Also, it may be that he wants to settle this before the New Year for tax purposes, so you might want to follow up before Monday, maybe tomorrow? Just a thought. The midweek Christmas and New Years holidays are going to make doing business the last 10 days kinda tough.
No this is attorney on attorney action and we certainly have made clear how this has affected our business and contracts with our suppliers.

You have a good point with the Holidays. I'll tomorrow. Thanks GB.

Hello parents!

I just want to give you a heads up that we've been watching a Lewis and Clark video in class the past few days so that we can follow the Corps of Discovery across the country on their expedition. It has been a great experience, and we have learned so much by watching this video and through classroom discussions and journaling. There are 2 short parts of this video that would be considered inappropriate for the elementary classroom, so I skip over them. However, today, I accidentally misread the time on the video and didn't skip the 30 seconds where 2 inappropriate words are used. The class reacted as I expected them to, and I openly apologized for my mistake. We had a classroom discussion about how to move forward, and how to respond to this situation appropriately. I sincerely apologize for this mistake, and I can assure you that it won't happen again.
I just replied LOL
:lmao: There's a video I used called "Lewis and Clark: Explorers of the New Frontier. " There are a couple of segments I have to skip over. The first mentions how a lot of the Corps traded trinkets (and stuff of actual value) for sexual favors from Indian broads.

The other is a segment about York (Clark's slave). Most of the Native Americans L&C came across had never seen a black guy. And many of the tribes believed that the darker a person's skin was the tougher/stronger/more virile you were. Obviously the took one look at York and figured he must be one bad-axe mother fletcher. In the video some historian talks about these Indian dudes were throwing their wives at York so they could have a free, dark-skinned baby.

Yeah, not showing that to a bunch of 8th graders.

Women are filthy pigs.
When I was a junior in college, I snuck into the freshman dorm with my GF. Late at night, we decided it would be fun and risque to make love in the shower of the women's room on her floor, shared by a number of girls. In the midst of our tryst, not one but two females entered the bathroom and proceeded to grunge poop like animals, replete with noises I've never quite heard before and hope to never hear again. Now, we were hidden in our furtive love making by a curtain, but I couldn't continue with all the grunts and smells. Completely blindsided me.

The rest of the semester, I'd see girls enter and leave their rooms on that floor and would ask myself every time, "I wonder if that was one of the doo-doo bandits".

IND has been testing new security protocols where you don't have to take your shoes off or take laptops out of bags. They have a security expert standing with the person checking boarding passes who is supposedly trained to recognize suspicious behavior.

In high school we watched Schindler's List, I think parts of it but not the whole thing. There's a sex scene in the beginning, and our teacher forgot about it (imagine the principal from Beavis and Butthead, but really awesome and an amazing teacher) and jumped up quickly to fast-forward through it. I yelled out something to the effect of "C'mon, they're just wrestling!" and got a massive laugh.

Bob, I really don't think any of us can give a reasonable suggestion. Your lawyer should have calculated out all your probabilities and done an EV for you--if he/she hasn't, ask why not. Nothing is an absolute "slam dunk", and litigation is usually to be avoided (sorry to the litigators here); you might find that your EV based on multiplying out all the factors is lower than you think. Also it is unlikely you'd get attorneys' fees unless there is a prevailing party fees provision in your contract, which none of us can tell you not having seen it.

It's evident that you should counter with something, but without that calculation in hand, you really can't make an educated decision as to what.

Huge fan of the airport you got here Guster, only had to take my cellphone out of my pocket to get through security. Not sure why, but no complaints

Affirmative, interesting. Was actually right across from the giant Amazon distribution center for awhile.

Thanks GB. There is nothing about attorney's fees in the contract and we absolutely want to avoid litigation. These people have a lot of money, we don't. I appreciate your input.

This is the first time since that building opened in 2010 that you would have been able to get on Litton without a multi hour backup this time of year.

Here's a portrait of York upon his return to civilization.

This is the Israeli method, and it's a lot more effective.

Also, it's profiling, so we're not supposed to be in favor of it.

Ethics complaint? For a low settlement offer?

If that was the case I'd have been disbarred years ago.
For revealing what his client would be willing to pay.
I'm beginning to suspect T Bell didn't actually read Bob's post.
I read it.

It's well within the lawyer's judgment to negotiate this way. I've in fact said what my client has been willing to pay to close a deal, but I've either lied (in my client's favor) by using a number that's either above or below (whatever applies) their bottom line number, or else it's truly a drop-dead number couched as, "I think I can get them to accept this if you demand it", as if I'm working with them on my client.

It might or might not work. It's a poker game full of bluffing, and sometimes bluffs work and sometimes they don't.

The only way you're going to get yourself in trouble is if you offer something you can't deliver, but even then if there's no signed deal your client isn't bound. All you'll have lost is your credibility with whoever you're bargaining with.

Huge fan of the airport you got here Guster, only had to take my cellphone out of my pocket to get through security. Not sure why, but no complaints
CVG?

IND has been testing new security protocols where you don't have to take your shoes off or take laptops out of bags. They have a security expert standing with the person checking boarding passes who is supposedly trained to recognize suspicious behavior.
This is the Israeli method, and it's a lot more effective.

Also, it's profiling, so we're not supposed to be in favor of it.
Valid. Luckily my middle-eastern* last name was countered by GMesque whiteness.

*I am not in favor of profiling middle-easterners, instead merely pointing out in the current climate that would likely be the outcome.

I was merely referring to the fact that you originally did not think lawyers were even involved and that it was just a businessman-to-businessman conversation, and then when that was clarified again, you didn't realize what the lawyer had said and thought Thorn was reacting to a low settlement offer.

I'd live blog this workers comp focus group I'm watching right now if there was any possibility of it being interesting.

Right now I'm just waiting for the kung pao chicken to arrive and making up backstories about each of the participants.

Thanks GB.

Easy, Bob. I tried to "like" it immediately but I was on my phone.
