Wait, are you a Canuck? Want a $10 iTunes code?Canada tooI would assume that wearing jeans without holes in them would be considered "dressing up" in Seattle.

As a requirement for my career, it was just something that had to be done. The flexibility was a huge asset, and aside from that one event, worked out fairly well.I traveled a 7 state territory in the SE for years when my daughter was between 3 and 10. Overall, it was no big deal. I would be on the road 2-3 days per week, rarely 4. Since I was in sales, I made my own schedule, so i could (for the most part) make sure that I was home for important things on the schedule. The only time that there was a major issue was when her dog got out and was hit by a car.Don't read further unless you want to risk being dissuaded, but I want to be honest with your question. Are there dads in here who travel a lot for work or otherwise have obscene hours? Are you still able to "be there" for your wife and kids and feel involved?
I was in a hotel in Charlotte, and I will never be able to forget the pain I could hear when my wife called me, and my daughter was crying in the background. It was the first time that she had experienced that kind of loss, and if you could hear the sound of a broken heart, that was it. The sorrow she was feeling was like it was coming from her soul, and I could hear every bit of it. I'll never forget that, and I do carry guilt that I wasn't there for her.
Sup.Spent the day putting in applications for bartending jobs today. :homerhifive:
Where are you? Is it Gig Harbor?I am happy to make plans. They just never actually happen (except for Cos, who showed up at my house). I keep trying to get people this direction...we have a great newish microbrewery (>tre--did you try the beer yet??).If you moved closer I could finally give you the blue coat you left here about five years ago. We should get together sometime and make some questionable decisions.I'll ask on Monday. The owner offered it to me a few weeks ago, but I can't really move from my suburban existence.Would love to have the info if so. One of our top neighborhood choices.I may know a nice house for rent in Queen Anne..krista4 said:Sounds like what I'd imagined. Definitely a few good places but we really want the selection of Ballard, Fremont, Capitol Hill, etc., not just for our own variety but because it would give Mr. krista a broader range of potential work opportunities close to home.Aaron Rudnicki said:I lived in Admiral Junction. Could walk to Alki and/or a small number of good bars and restaurants. But, yeah, I think you'd probably prefer to be up North in Ballard or Fremont or something.
By the way, Drifter, if you know/hear of anyone looking to rent a house to a nice, half-quiet, half-extraordinarily tidy and meticulous, couple with cats, let me know!
After spending ten grand on an imported German cat drawbridge for your living room, how pissed would you be when the cat inevitably sits on your counter all day until it takes a moment to shed all its hair on your couch and favorite black sweater?
So true.yep, it's about 45 minutes south of seattle. you drive to tacoma and turn right. stop when you go over the bridge that collapsed in the 50s.Where are you? The Germans are great at a lot of things. Like genocide. This is really cool.
They play both kids of music there.I'm sure it's the same at the Bakersfield symphony. You should go ask them.Like at the Shamu show at Sea World? They were the cheapest seats in the house. $19 apiece. I was stunned. I learned from my wife that the front row is called the "spit row." Apparently they're not actually super desirable. I loved it. Going to shoot for that every show.Definitely got the sense that Seattle was like this, which is part of why I think we'll fit much better there. I like to get dressed up if the occasion calls for it, but there are very few occasions that should call for it IMO.
ETA: Look at me! I was in the front row!![]()
We have an actual symphony. I know the 3rd chair banjoist.
I hereby vow to come cornhole you at the microbrewery, if we make it over the bridge that collapsed.yep, it's about 45 minutes south of seattle. you drive to tacoma and turn right. stop when you go over the bridge that collapsed in the 50s.Where are you? we have a bar that's a historic landmark, a microbrewery and a few cool little restaurants.
it takes about 3 days before you've done everything there is to do here. good for a summer weekend.

The key here is that we're willing to meet fish despite the still-collapsed bridge.
More stuff to sell. Ray Allen's is awesome. Why am I watching an NBA game and more specifically why does it say KING JAMES on the back of Lebron's jersey?

How does it compare to the $13 Barolo?I'm drinking a $14 Barolo from Trader Joe's, which sounds horrifying on paper but is actually not bad. :noice:
What sounds horrible is what I'm doing right now and that's drinking.................I'm drinking a $14 Barolo from Trader Joe's, which sounds horrifying on paper but is actually not bad. :noice:
Note to self. Never tell K4 what kind of wine I'm drinkingI'm drinking a $14 Barolo from Trader Joe's, which sounds horrifying on paper but is actually not bad. :noice:
I should be clear...it's not the price. There are some wines I enjoy a lot at this price or even less. But Barolos are usually fairly expensive, so to have one be $14 is worrisome, but once it opened up a bit it's pretty good! Next time we're trying the $9 Primitivo.Note to self. Same here. Exercised and ate right 4 days in a row. Screw it.Who's drinkin?![]()
About to blow up my good week of eating and exercising by consuming a couple thousand calories of alcohol
Drinking New Belgium Trippel at 7.8% alcohol and over 200 calories per. Will be following up with either Bulleit, Buffalo Trace or Eagle Rare. Have not yet decided.
Ahh hell bob. I just got back to the house about 20 minutes ago. Sorry man. I am tired of dealing with people today. You can really tell how people a in a time of crisis. Too much freak out is never a good thing and my customer was in the land of freaked out today. Anyway, all is better with them. I will make it up. Sucks it had to happen on a freaking Friday.I was about to post that Walnutz is a dick because he had a work emergency, which means I'm still working instead of at the bar.
However...
Dylan asked me, again, to hook his guitar up so he could learn how to play. I told him a few hours ago we would but I really want to get this report done and have hours of work left. I told him that he had my word we would start tomorrow. He just smiled and said, "it's alright Daddy, I know how hard you work".
and the cats in the cradle....
