Staining pro tip (from a buddy of mine that owns a deck building business). Buy a weed sprayer and use it as a stain sprayer .

Funny you mentioned about the umbrellas. I brought about 4-5 of them with us and have never used one; have noticed no one else ever does either. It's weird.

Although this year has been a bit of an anomaly in March and April, it's because it really doesn't pour rain that much. Most of the winter it's just a cold gray drizzle or mist. Atlanta actually gets more annual rainfall than Seattle does.

It is a woodland mite found in dry climate like Arkansas, Texas, or krista's wake. The only way to get them off of your balls is to suffocate them by applying clear fingernail polish to the affected region. Preferably not when you are in third grade, coming home from camp, and your mother is the only person who can help.

Used to get them every summer growing up from peeing in the woods behind our house. I have nightmares about the finger polish being applied by my mother.

Bob, taking Zach to a Cub Scout camp tomorrow. I was talking to a buddy recently who has his boys in Indian Guides. Says all the dads bring beer to the campouts. Talked to my dad about this tonight, because I was in Indian Guides when I was young. He said they all drank and played poker all night when the boys went to bed.

I'm thinking we chose wrongly for our sons.

I had poison ivy on my schvantz once. I think I was like 8 years old. I'd rather not remember my mom putting calamine lotion on it

We've also been talking about hiring help, someone who can watch the kids some days and do some light housework, just to take the stress off around here. I have been hesitant, not because of the money, but it just seems my wife would automatically spend the day in bed.

She may need more than just therapy to get her going. If someone is that deeply depressed and is practically bedridden, going on meds may help. A lot of times when it's bad you do need both at least to start and get over the hump.

Oh, she's been on just about everything.

That's awesome. I have a couple of the other dads that are on board but I don't have a lot of influence in the Scout area. Most of the other guys are 15 years younger than me and really don't feel like hanging with an old dude. Very cool though.

Bob, congrats on the chiggershvantz (I'm assuming that's better than pretty much every other possible diagnosis you could have recieved).

shuke, sorry for your issues. You can't fix your wife or make her want to take control of her situation. But you can fix how you deal with/internalize the other stuff. I know the running kids from place to place and whatnot all on your own makes things hectic. Every time my wife travels for work, I'm reminded how much respect I should have for single parents. But none of that stuff or the house stuff is life or death. Which means you can't place so much importance on it that you let it impact your health (mental or physical).

I'm sure it's a lot to take on, and I'm sure the pressure is overwhelming sometimes. But while you're in the middle of it, just stop and take a deep breath every now and then and remind yourself that it's not worth allowing it all to build up inside. Dishes are going to get done and eventually the house will get painted. They're just things. Bumps on the road. And venting to us is better than internalizing. You haven't met Bob IRL, have you?

Good points Bob. I do try not to focus on it too much and make sure that the kids are a priority. It still bothers me though, everything I want to do around here.

I've felt on the verge of a heart attack for about 3 weeks.

Wife had a pretty bad case of bronchitis for a few weeks, and going right out of that into her bad part of her menstrual cycle that makes her headaches worse, and I have been doing everything around here. I am sure there are single parents out there who have to deal with this day in day out, but on top of my job and travel, and all the stress around the house when my wife is not feeling good, I am just having trouble coping.

Plus she is missing a lot, and things just seem to be getting worse, and it is breaking my heart. I am doing everything I can to help her emotionally, but she is at a point that it seems she doesn't want to help herself.

Sorry Shuke. When we decided we were done with kids, my wife had a procedure done that essentially burned out the lining of her uterus. In addition to purposely making her infertile it also cut down her menstrual pains (which were bad) by about 90%. Just food for thought.

She just started a new birth control that is supposed to make her only have one period every three months. We'll see how it goes.

Em, JohnJohn, DSP and Geezil are all part of a group from another board who are organizing their own jihad over here to fish, cause trouble and report members of the FFA. If you think Joe Bryant's reemergence into the FFA is a coincidence, I have land to sell you on Mars. I'd also call the retirement of MOP highly suspect.

Sure, comb through this thread and you'll see more than one effort by Geezil, DSP and others trying to hijack and derail it. I don't think they just dropped out of the sky, do you? Even MOP gave it a go before starting his own thread and then ultimately 'retiring', but not before creating a narrative about his life so far fetched that even he couldn't keep it up for long. A teacher? Really? Good leaping lord, folks.

Next, Joe Bryant was virtually a non-entity on the FFA for well over a year, perhaps even more. And now he's back? You can probably shed more insight into it, but I would bet dollars to donuts that the report button was being abused like SLBs chigger covered cank at a block party. If something else lured him back (Boredom? A need to really dig into the reasons for faith of the FFA after a looooooooooooooooooong sabbatical?) perhaps you can shed some insight, but I think he's back because something was afoot.

Lastly, check out the oth:e:r board. Whole lot of activity picking up related to the aforementioned posters with a couple of them regist:e:ring and posting back. That to me is more than enough evidence that they are part of another board that is deliberately trying to fish and rock the boat over here. FFT perhaps? Not the first time they have attempted to make some noise over here.

Em is a troll, plain and simple. You guys state quite clearly that fishing over here is against board policy and subject to losing your rights to post. I'd expect a more careful analysis into what Em is doing here and were it me, I'd revoke his account yesterday based on his activity.

Small warning: my wife went on that for awhile, and the first three or four periods she had were ten times worse from a hormonal perspective. It did get significantly better after that though (I realize that's almost a year of weird, but it's only every three months)
