GM's thread about nothing (32 Viewers)

Found out last night that my wife and kids are going camping with the Scouts on Father's Day. I've ####### had it with cults a long, long, time ago. This has pushed me over the edge.

Got to work at 6:55 for no GD reason at all.

Today is the biggest jerkoff day of the year. Kids are here from 8-11. Then we have graduation at 3:30. We tell the 8th graders they don't even need to show up for school today. We will do our state mandated attendance at graduation. Of course every year about 1/2 of them show up any way. The ones that come to my classes I put to work hauling stuff to the trash, counting books, taking turns punching each other in the balls etc.

It's almost like I have a real job.

Speaking of dogs (and also Tanner's Houdini reference above)...

The whole family was going to be out of the house for the whole day on Wednesday this week, so rather than keeping our 2 dachshunds in their crate all day, I moved the crate into the kitchen (tile floors) and put up a gate to keep them from getting out of the room. Gives them a little room to walk around, and makes any cleanup easier than dealing with carpets.

I was the first one home, about 10 hours later, and I walked in to find one dog relaxing in the crate and the other wagging his tail happily ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE GATE :loco:

Now, these dogs have 3-inch legs, and the gate is a couple of feet high, so there's no way he jumped it without knocking it over. Best guess is that the little #### jumped onto the crate, from there to the countertop, and then down on the other side. Which then completely ####ed him in terms of getting back.

Oh, and he #### on the carpet while he was out.

Going in to work late and staying late tonight. Apparently, there's no one else who can ensure all the claims go out at month-end. Last month $477K worth of surgeries were stuck in the system on the last day of the month, because they were entered after I left work for the day. Since physician reimbursement is being determined from these numbers, it has become a screaming emergency that we don't have a repeat of April.

This software goes away in a month, replaced by something much more powerful and flexible (we promise!), It also requires 40 hours online and 16 hours in a classroom to learn. On the other side is a new position and more money, assuming i don't go on a killing spree first.
An error occurredYou have reached your quota of positive votes for the day

Here's a picture I apparently took of myself in or around junior high.

Guess I wanted to show the world what a pioneer I was -- a teenager with interests in sports, music, and Christina Applegate.

Except there was of course no innernet back then, so I'm not quite sure who the intended audience would have been.
You sure did like balls.
Lot of warning bells going off in that photo.

I was planning on heading back to Y-town tomorrow morning, but I'm thinking I might just hit the road now. Had an epic nap earlier, I'm pretty much 100% packed, and frankly, I have nothing better to do for the next 8 hours...might as well drive 600 miles.
Godspeed on your journey.

Well kids, I'm outta here.

Alright alright alright.
Drive safe GB! And welcome back to the great state of Ohio

Now when the hell are you getting down to Cincinnati?
I'm sure I'll be down for a long weekend for some Bengal love. Gotta check the schedule.

As an Astros fan, the George springer outburst is both fun and confusing.
He's looking like a 20/20 player this season. Pretty awesome
On pace for 29/2...my roto teams would sure love it if he'd start stealing some bases, but when every hit seems to leave the park I guess that's kind if tough

Dylan was retrieving a foul ball at his game tonight and didn't notice his teammate taking practice swings. So he caught a full swing right to the gut. Sure he dropped like he was shot and cried but he shook it off after a couple of minutes and went out and played catcher next inning. Thank the good dude it wasn't a few inches higher or lower or we would be in the ER right now. Looks like all of those situps he does paid off too.
Be careful. Remember what happened to Houdini.
Well, we know YOU do.

zing!

I wish somebody would punch your face in the stomach.

So far I've had 3 students show up today. All three were girls and all three were the only kids to show up for that period.

I had to inform them that if they were the only ones that they couldn't stay. :homer:

Mr. krista's buddy Brandon is second in chips at the final table of the WSOP pot limit Omaha event. Mr krista was with him when he (Brandon) played his first hand of live poker and thought he'd just end up taking a lot of the guy's money. Didn't really turn out that way. Anyway, go Brandon!

Hoping this post is Oktoberfest because it's not a hold 'em event.

I'm curious why you thought you needed 4 basketballs
I can't figure out what probably impressed the ladies more, the four basketballs or the two guitars.
Should done cycling. I had the poosay crawling all over me.

My Grandfather (Mom's side) used to do a lot of work for the DNC. As a result, he was given this bust of JFK by the DNC I'm told. As God as my witness, I saw the same one on CNBC back in the 90's and JFK had the exact same one on his desk. That one sold for a cool million at auction.

Tecumseh tried to find out about it a while back but came up empty. Thanks again GB. I recently heard about reverse image search and thought I could finally find out about this thing.

Reverse image search results

If anybody has a suggestion on how to find out more about it, I'll take a PM. TIA
Can you post a pic of the underside?
Bottom (hehe) is smooth. This is the only thing that may be a mark I can find.
Hippling. Nice dead roach and is that where the bullet went in?

It's my daughter's first day of summer vacation but I have to go in to work for a little, so trying to make things as fun as possible for her...

Starting off with a couple donuts from the awesome donut shop near my work

Then letting her run around my work playing with exercise balls, arts and crafts stuff, a Darth Vader helmet and light saber and our library full of books and movies while I get some stuff done.

Lunch at the place with awesome fancy hot dogs and French fries before hitting the spray ground for some fun in the heat and sun
Sounds like a great day!

Might have wanted to keep one of those activities in your pocket. Much like sleeping with a woman for the first time, you don't want to use every trick in the bag the first time. ;)

It does. Except for that part about spending it with a kid.

Guster - Had a chance to sample any of the box of crap? Specifically, the sweet pepper spread?
This week has been a super busy week for me between extra time in my role of Dad and dates on all the nights I was free that went way past my bedtime.

I'll sample the goods tonight and report back. I assume that pepper's sweet spread would taste good on my pulled pork?
I'll try it on its own. I'm not interested in any with your pulled pork.
