GM's thread about nothing (38 Viewers)

Daytime Summer Target is pretty awesome. Placed was full of hot moms and women who feel it's appropriate to wear Michigan football jerseys in public. I also found $20 someone left in the ATM machine machine.

Also since when is dry cleaning so expensive. $40+ for a suit, 4 shirts and 2 ties.

We(I) got rid of the tree in record time this year. It generally sits under our deck until the summer months because we miss the one chance for the garbage man to take it. Not so, this year.

However, we still have a gigantic wreath up on the wall. My wife orders it from some crazy lady at her work that insists on delivering it in person with her creepy kid. The thing is massive and somehow involves a metal skeleton and wiring to keep it all together. Last year it stayed up until summer and I finally got to take and disassemble it with a pliers. Each year my wife (hi honey) says she'll take care of it, so I'm waiting to see how that goes.
I took this down today. It was time.

I bet the crazy lady would pick it up and re-use the wires/framing for next year.

It's my daughter's first day of summer vacation but I have to go in to work for a little, so trying to make things as fun as possible for her...

Starting off with a couple donuts from the awesome donut shop near my work

Then letting her run around my work playing with exercise balls, arts and crafts stuff, a Darth Vader helmet and light saber and our library full of books and movies while I get some stuff done.

Lunch at the place with awesome fancy hot dogs and French fries before hitting the spray ground for some fun in the heat and sun
Sounds like a great day!

Might have wanted to keep one of those activities in your pocket. Much like sleeping with a woman for the first time, you don't want to use every trick in the bag the first time. ;)
Just trying to overcompensate for a little bit of parental guilt for dragging my kid in to work on the first day of summer vacation.

We spent a couple hours at the park and spray ground this afternoon and came back to my work to change and dry off, but I can't get her to leave now. She's watching Netflix on her ipad and eating some popcorn. Guess I can't blame her

dammit. my hearing got set for June 13, which is the day I'm leaving to go camping with my daughter. It's at 10 am, 3 hours in the opposite direction of the camp.

Given your most recent "camping experience".....maybe this is the Universe's way of telling you to avoid the outdoors for a while.

Or at least "the outdoors that also has balconies."

Mr. krista's buddy Brandon is second in chips at the final table of the WSOP pot limit Omaha event. Mr krista was with him when he (Brandon) played his first hand of live poker and thought he'd just end up taking a lot of the guy's money. Didn't really turn out that way. Anyway, go Brandon!

Hoping this post is Oktoberfest because it's not a hold 'em event.
Because I know you all care deeply...I was just looking this up and didn't realize that there are only six people left and that Brandon had been dominating the final table until one of the last hands, when Steve Billirakis rivered a back-door flush (not a euphemism). Looking good...

I'll be in a tent this time--ok with you camping snobs?

these are the cabins, dammit

It's a big campground. Tent spots, RV spots and these cabins--with elevated porch/balcony things.
We decided on a last-minute trip to the Olympics early tomorrow morning. Turns out that last-minute accommodations in Port Townsend in summer aren't exactly plentiful, and we don't have our tent yet, so if anyone needs me, I'll be at the Aladdin Motor Inn. TPW appreciated.

If you ever want to come further south, my friends own this place.

It's doesn't have a motor, but it's an inn.

No, we got this. Not ultralight, which we might regret if backpacking, but it had fantastic reviews.

It took some time, but will all the werewolf guys back me up on the fact that this thread has basically devolved into a neverending werewolf thread?

Right shuke?

nobody has to assign DnD roleplaying identities and come up with some stupid background story in order to have a conversation. I also can't remember the last secret ballot where we voted who would be killed off in the make believe world either.

Maybe you weren't asked to vote.

So my daughter needs to find transportation from the George Washington Bridge area to Saddlebrook NJ.

The only thing she can find is a bus that takes 2 hours?

Anyone live near those areas that can help us out?

Down to three people and Brandon with more than three times the chips of the guys in second place. Getting pretty excited. This would be a >$200K payday for him. I don't really know him but word on Mr. krista's FB page is that he's the nicest kid in the world.

From GWB? No good mass transit nearby, call Carmel 212-666-6666).

If she can get an A train down to Port Authority, 160 bus takes 30-35 minutes.

Google maps select mass transit option.
