It's not the first time an Ohio kindergarten graduation ceremony has erupted into trouble. Last year, Cleveland police said eight people were arrested after a fight broke out between two teenage girls at Michael R. White Elementary and families joined in. The school went into lockdown and patrol cars flocked to the scene. Police said at the time the melee was set off by spilled punch.

The way 2014 has gone, probably best for me not to wade into the stupidity of the internet. I don't have the patience to tolerate it and immediately dive down into it myself. Ugh.

I mean, just once it would be awesome to have a nice political discussion without people jumping to conclusions and telling each other they must really just hate this person or that person or have am ulterior motive or blah blah blah. But no, talking politics on the internet is like shooting yourself in the head while drunkenly bragging that your dad can beat up everyone else's dad.

BTW, don't sweat it. Political fights and Tim can combine to make anyone lose their #### a little bit.

 
While it was a classy thing to do, I don't think GD should have apologized/excused his behavior in there.

I'm unfamiliar with his work, but is BigSteelThrill fishing or just plain horrible?

AFAIK the latter. But I tend to mash up all the FFA politico folks/aliases. There's like a sensor that goes off, "Known ####head, do not engage."

 
No, I definitely needed to apologize. Just because I think someone else is being unfair or making things personal doesn't give me the right to lose it and get personal too. That's the worst part about politics and disagreements in general in our culture today. I have to be better than that.

And frankly, if I'm going to profess or claim certain religious or moral beliefs, it certainly makes me look like a foolish ### and a hypochrite to act like that instead of showing grace or humility. I'd like to be more on the positive side of making things more civil here rather than contributing to the garbage.

I actually tried sending Tim a more detailed apology via PM but apparently he's quite a popular guy and has a full box.

So I went to orientation for summer school. I'll be teaching econ/govt to juniors and seniors at my alma mater...which happens to be a Catholic school.

Part of the orientation was about 20 minutes of a "safe schools" program. I consisted of 4 pages of "dos and don'ts"" from the diocese. There must have been about 30 things listed like "don't comment on a student's body" "never discuss your sex life with a student" "never provide a student with tobacco, alcohol, or drugs" "never invite a student to your house"...etc

Hey how about "DON'T TOUCH THE F-ING KIDS...EVER!"
