GM's thread about nothing (32 Viewers)

Funny you two would bring this up as Mrs. SLB is going to have this done. She is getting a needle to the spine first though to see how that works. I've had it done twice on my spine in the neck and it's really painful and freaky. I feel for you GBCos.

What happened to you Ford?

Spinal nerve cauterization is one of the more insane procedures I've had described to me.
Thank you. That's was I was going for
I've never even heard of it. I'll stop whining about my achilles separting from my heel problems.

Ah, I remember the Achilles injuries of my youth. To the golden days!

"If we don't put several injections of anaesthetic into your ####ing spine, this is really going to hurt by comparison" should scare the hell out of anyone.

I'm 83% sure the first "R" rated movie I saw in its entirety was the original "The Longest Yard".

Back in the day we had HBO and on thee other side of town what was called The Star Channel. HBO showed a bunch of different movies all day long...with a lot of weird filler in between. HBO would show a movie and then for 27 minutes they would show some goofy crap like a guy with a camera's POV of an art sale in Central Park.

The Star Channel would show the same movie ALL G-DAMN day long.

"The Longest Yard" w/ Burt Reynolds, Ed Lauter, Michael Conrad, Harry Caesar, and Ray "Total Gaybait" Nitschke..on at 9am, 11am, 1pm, 3pm, 5pm, 7pm...
We finally shot the lock off the wallet and got HBO my second year of college. Dead Poet's Society was on constantly. So much so that I used to cheer when he killed himself. Should probably have used a spoiler there.
I still can't believe O. Captain Mycaptain snuffed himself.
Professor Copernicus should have included the lesson Toughen it up you little pricks.

Used to do the church youth group thing in my tweener years. Guy who ran it was very cool. Would show us Road Warrior, MASH, Alien all on his state of the art VHS.
Best thing I ever got culturally from a church youth group was a youth choir trip where I was introduced to Jethro Tull and his Benefit album in the basement of the First Baptist Church of Boulder. The next day in downtown Boulder I bought a leather jacket from a drug addled hippie for $9.

IT wasn't so bad. I drove myself there and 10 minutes after the last needle was withdrawn I was hightailing to happy hour.

I do feel kind of like someone beat me with baseball bats while I was asleep last night. But the knee-buckling spasming I usually have is not around (so far)/

You guys are ####### old
I've been ####ed up in so many ways. Usually a doctor will say "you're going to feel a little sting" or "there's going to be a little pinch now". When the doctor says "now this is going to hurt...." then jams a needle into the base of your neck. Good times.

Knew about the Colorado connection (still regret turning you down for meeting you at Red & Jerry's around 12 years ago) but never knew you grew up in Boulder.

Cos is so old....his parents were boulders!! Thank you! I'll be here all week!

Damn, I've had a lot of rum.

To whoever said I was an overachiever in this thread - I'm pretty sure I pale in comparison to Krista and Drifter along with several others whom I'm too drunk to recall. This thread is pretty big time.

I am so not over achiever. I am slacker personified. Luckily I was blessed with good genes.

Mrs. SLB had three glasses of wine tonight so she was wasted. She says "you never checked me for ticks". So I did. In the kitchen. When I finished with my inspection she pulls her shorts up and says "thank you. Pervert." Then went to bed. <_<

PS - the only reason I do well is because I get in put in a position where real over achievers constantly try to kick me in the face and I have a giant chip on my shoulder. I need the adversity.

Bob knows.

2 episodes in of True Detective. Really enjoying it so far. Also enjoying the thread. I almost want to burn through the episodes just so I can read more.

So, let's just go with "achiever." You've still accomplished more than the vast majority of people. I'm pretty sure that I've spent the last 20 years not living up to my potential.

This thread really shines late on a weekend evening when everyone is wasted and there are like 9 different conversations going on with plenty of just random drop in posts. Big fan.

I might be done soon too. Chip isn't as big as it used to be.

Cal earned a "sports" badge at Scouts for playing nine hole of Frisbee golf. I don't know.

ETA

Sorry, "earned" not "won". <_<

Here's to those of us that will never live up to their own expectations.

I'm pretty sure a little more rum won't hurt.

It occasionally occurs to me that I likely don't post enough and no one here really knows me well enough to know that I'm almost always a sarcastic bastage.

Love you.

Colin - Bentley - Kevzilla - we definitely need to get together while Binky is here. Maybe if we did it on a weekend we could get a couple of other out of city Texans to join us. We are going to do 60 session in the next two weeks, but we have lots of flexibility and we definitely want to show them a good time.
I'll be in town week after next.
