Just caught my 2 year old "drawing" on our minivan with a rock :wall:
Caught mine after a four foot line was drawn. At least it was the old car
2 nice sized squiggles on the lift gate and a line along the entire passenger side and down the front fascia

Just leased it in January...hopefully it can be buffed out but if not I'll just deal with it when we turn it in in 2 years
kind of a side note....i have a 2003 Honda with 125k miles on it. No problems with it at all, mechanic said i can probably get to 200k with no problems (and I literally only drive 10 miles round trip every day), it should last another 10 years....

Anyway, I think i want to get a paint job for it as it's got normal wear and tear that you would expect out of a 10 year old car....any idea how much this would run?
Kind of hippling here. In case no one answered, you can get a cheap, inferior, but good enough paint job for 4-500. A pretty good one for 2K and a top end one for 3-4K.

Agree on the slacker comment from Drifter. I wonder sometimes of what I could have done if I really tried. Then I remember that would take effort.
So now that I'm back at my alma mater I really have to fight the urge to wonder what the hell would have happened if I had actually given two farks when I was younger.

I'm teaching a senior level class to a bunch of kid that aren't seniors yet. Most of them are taking the class in summer school to open up a period next year to be able to take some AP level math/science class (there might be a 2-3 kids who want the open period next year to take Art or Grabassery 101 as well). The lowest grade anyone earned was 83% and that was from this kid from one of the public schools who slept 50% of the time.

If I had to guess at least half of them will be accepted to some amazing university. One of my female students already has an unpaid internship lined up for next summer at Johns Hopkins.

All that being said...I can't regret all of the stupid crap I did when I was their age. I'm almost positive that none of them have been in a street fight (or gotten their asses kicked or learned when to stand down or having some total jerkwad slink away from you after you landed a couple of good ones) or learned the lesson about mixing booze or drunk smack-talking to or about the wrong person.

I don't think any of them will understand what it is like to grab about 4 inches worth of napkins at McDonald's because you know you have no toilet paper or taking a lightbulb from the covered parking because the one in your bathroom went out.

Or having some amazing yet totally foolish sex after getting drunk on a Tuesday night when you should have been studying for a Bio midterm.

...hey, I've come to the realization that I'm too prunk to dost.

Going house shopping tomorrow.
Do they actually give it in the stomach like we believed when we were kids?

Well said my brother. Well said.

Colin - Bentley - Kevzilla - we definitely need to get together while Binky is here. Maybe if we did it on a weekend we could get a couple of other out of city Texans to join us. We are going to do 60 session in the next two weeks, but we have lots of flexibility and we definitely want to show them a good time.
I'll be in town week after next.
Cool. I imagine he'll be here until the 10th or so, so we should be able to make it work. Let me know if you want to stay here some or all of the time for this trip. I have availability. In fact, you should bring your wife and let me start eeging that migraine

Damn, I've had a lot of rum.

To whoever said I was an overachiever in this thread - I'm pretty sure I pale in comparison to Krista and Drifter along with several others whom I'm too drunk to recall. This thread is pretty big time.
I'm here to balance things out

And I'm sure I've posted this before but for any of you nerds that like to read do yourself a favor and find "Replay" by Ken Grimwood

Novel about a guy that has a chance to go back and do it all over again....

Very thought provoking without being all entellectual and stuph.

ETA: I think I have it some sort of ebook form that I can send. PM me with an email addy. Then again.

Used to do the church youth group thing in my tweener years. Guy who ran it was very cool. Would show us Road Warrior, MASH, Alien all on his state of the art VHS.
Best thing I ever got culturally from a church youth group was a youth choir trip where I was introduced to Jethro Tull and his Benefit album in the basement of the First Baptist Church of Boulder. The next day in downtown Boulder I bought a leather jacket from a drug addled hippie for $9.
Knew about the Colorado connection (still regret turning you down for meeting you at Red & Jerry's around 12 years ago) but never knew you grew up in Boulder.
I didn't. It was a church choir tour whereby I delivered the good news of Jesus Christ throughout a singing roadtrip to the believers.

Stryker, how does your wife feel about carrying other people's luggage?
Huh?
I was thinking how funny it would be if I asked her to carry my bags. I might be a little high. :bag:

Mrs. SLB had three glasses of wine tonight so she was wasted. She says "you never checked me for ticks". So I did. In the kitchen. When I finished with my inspection she pulls her shorts up and says "thank you. Pervert." Then went to bed. <_<
:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: what
I'm an idiot. :lmao:

I read it the first time you posted it.

And then again the second time and it took me over a hundred pages to realize I's already read it six months ago. Good news is that it engaged me enough to read it twice (which I do VERY seldom), bad news is its kind of forgettable to have to read a hundred pages to remember it. Somehow its all mixed up with Kings Nov. 22 or whatever novel (his best work in the last two decades).

They should make a movie about you. You could die at the end.

LolShe'll be at home with the kid where she belongs (dont tell her I said that) on Friday afternoon
Misogynistic shtick is one of my favorites. Mrs. SLB usually tells me to go #### myself.

I'm taking my daughter to a "bumblees are our friends" class tomorrow at 9am. I think we're supposed to capture the bees at some point. 73% chance I get stung because of shaking hands. Stupid hangovers.

We have an airshow at the lakefront featuring the Blue Angels. Pretty sure he'll want to leave after an hour and we'll only get to see 3 dudes throwing paper airplanes

Although daughter had a fever today. Not sure yet if I'm goin gwith the "she's been sick we shouldn't do this" angle or "it's fun we need to do this" angle. Stay tuned.

Heading to Patchouli town (aka Boulder) this morning. I wonder how weedy it will be. :oldunsure:

ETA: hiking was out of the question due to snow the other day outside of Laramie. http://img.ly/zeWR

Son woke up puking this morning. Really glad I read the first few pages of Hams thread when he first posted. Totally on the edge of panic rugby now. This must be what it's like to be a woman.

:coffee:

Happy Saturn's Day, my friends.

I looked into Amtrak from DC to Milwaukee in case attending beerhole comes into play. I couldn't find a trip that didn't take 24 hours. WTF? Hell, Abe & I could drive that in much less time - even stopping for gas every 20 miles.

I think they used to. The first three shots (all in the same visit) were in the upper thigh. The other three times that we went just involved one shot in the arm.

Awesome night in here yesterday. Wish I had been around, but i had "fancy" date night with the girl without a nickname. Dressed nice and went to a wine tasting/star gazing at the observatory (oldest telescope in the US) and then drinks and dancing before going back to her place.

At this point I've essentially cut off all communication with any other girls that were in the rotation :oldunsure:

Oh and when I showed up to get her, I brought flowers. I honestly don't remember the last time I bought a girl flowers... Not really my thing usually, but it was a big hit.
