GM's thread about nothing (33 Viewers)

I'm pretty dumb about these kinds of things, but is Oregon's wine well-known?
Yes. Willamette Valley Pinot Noir, in particular.

I like California wine. It's most of what I drink, largely because I'm an ignorant American who is scared of what he doesn't already know.

Regardless, if I'm going to drink a pinot noir, I generally prefer OR to CA.

Do any of you have any advice on getting stuff framed? I bought a bunch of cool prints online and I'm not sure where to take the around here. I prefer a local guy but don't want to pa through the nose. It looks like places like Michaels does it too but I'm worried it might suck.

Using peppers current frames isn't an option?

Go local. Framing is expensive no matter where you go.

This is true. Custom framing is expensive. I've had decent results by buying the matte and frame separately, though. Go to hobby lobby or michaels and see if they have the right size matte. Talk to the old lady behind the counter and see what she suggests

That's what I figured. It has been awhile since I had a bunch of stuff framed.

Does it have to be custom? Michaels has some great deals on standard sized stuff.

Drinking some Deschute's Inversion IPA and listening to spotify (started out with some Bowie, now the Breeders, next up...Metric).

Strike my hand vertically in an urban fashion?

OMFG I don't know if I can type in this thread. A friend from Memphis hooked us up with a ton of Oregon wineries (he's a bon vivant who visits these several times a year) and they not only bring out the owner's daughter or Eddie from the back every time we show up, but they're pouring us ALL their wines and then giving us the industry discount (30%) when we buy. I have no money left and am day-drunk, again. ####### glorious. Good night.
I would like to hear more about the owner's daughter and less about Eddie.

Still watching Masters of Sex. Still enough nudity to make up for the plot. Sometimes it seems like a lesser version of Mad Men. Luckily it doesn't share quite the same Bataan Death March pace of Mad Men.

Also sitting on the back porch, drinking a giant tequila sunrise and watching it rain.

I would totally watch that.

My board meeting today was pretty cool. It was a bunch of business and community leaders I've followed and admired for years and me.

What up? Sounds like things are swingin' for you! Wish real estate was moving that fast here (for my wife's benefit - real estate agent).
