GM's thread about nothing (13 Viewers)

OMFG I don't know if I can type in this thread. A friend from Memphis hooked us up with a ton of Oregon wineries (he's a bon vivant who visits these several times a year) and they not only bring out the owner's daughter or Eddie from the back every time we show up, but they're pouring us ALL their wines and then giving us the industry discount (30%) when we buy. I have no money left and am day-drunk, again. ####### glorious. Good night.
I would like to hear more about the owner's daughter and less about Eddie.
Yeah, #### a bunch of Eddie
BINKY!
What up? Sounds like things are swingin' for you! Wish real estate was moving that fast here (for my wife's benefit - real estate agent).
Closing on the buying and selling on the 7th. Packing up already. We are way excited.

Very rich, very nice, very not pretty.

We're willing to trade looks for a certain morally casual attitude.

You can tell just by looking, Krista. Just by looking.

That plane that got shot down today is a common flight that folks from my extended team take. There are a few folks that are really worried that they know people that were on there.

:oldunsure:

My father's memorial service is today. Well, it's not really a "service" as there's no program or anything formal. It's basically "come have a drink and eat some food and say 'hi'".

We're having it at my aunt's - she's got a gorgeous outdoor entertaining area that can handle a large group of people (spill-over area can be the rest of her 600 acres). Good thing, because we've had about 100 people that said they are coming and I'm sure there will be more that just show up.

Of course, now my mother is worried that there won't be enough food. I asked her last night "Mom, have you ever seen someone leave your sister's house hungry?". Won't matter - she'll still worry. Talked to my aunt later on and she's got it covered, as I knew she would.

We've got friends of my father's coming who I haven't seen since I was a kid. And people I went to school with I haven't seen since HS graduation who didn't really know my dad but are coming for me. Or for my brother. Or for the booze and eats.

It's gonna be an emotional day, but also cathartic. I'm not a fan of the word "closure", but I also think that comes into play here - especially for my mother. Because there was no funeral or viewing, I think things have been in kind of a weird limbo the last two weeks and today will, hopefully, bring this period to a gentle close.

Thops UH!!

Life is a mother ####er sometimes. I'm sitting here crying because I just watched Stuart Scott's espy speech. I ####### CAN NOT stand Stuart Scott. But now, #### me. I can't not like the guy.

How can any dad not lose their #### listening to that. My daughter turned 8 on Sunday. He was diagnosed right now in my timeline. I can't even imagine having to tell my daughter that I have cancer and no one thinks I'm going to live. I had a crushing totally debilitating headache the other day, and my daughter hugged and loved on me and brought her bear to me cause he'd make me feel better.

Appreciate what you/we/I have gmtaners. Love you ####ers.

And hey, it's Friday, I've been married for 10 years!!!!

Oh yea....

I fell for the oldest one in the book. My normally totally sane wife who doesn't give a #### about flowers, bdays, Mother's Day, anniversaries, etc apparently cares about this one.

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=nNl-lD10BZw

I've rectified the no plans, I was working, we have no sitter, into dinner at her favorite joint and I'll be working on transportation and getting our rare hard to find champagne tomorrow.

I'm actually quite stoked she wanted to do something. Should be fun!

Thanks, my friend.

I don't even have kids and I don't think I can watch the Scott clip right now. I'm shaky enough today as it is.

Happy anniversary! Nice improvising.

WTF is a "team take"?
TF has a team at work. He also has an "extended team." People on that extended team will often take that flight over Ukraine and there's concern that some may have been on the flight that got shot down.

She's the rich daughter of a vineyard owner. Drink her pretty.

Do any of you have any advice on getting stuff framed? I bought a bunch of cool prints online and I'm not sure where to take the around here. I prefer a local guy but don't want to pa through the nose. It looks like places like Michaels does it too but I'm worried it might suck.
Go local. Framing is expensive no matter where you go.
That's what I figured. It has been awhile since I had a bunch of stuff framed.
Does it have to be custom? Michaels has some great deals on standard sized stuff.
I want everything to look right for Zooks.

####, I just remembered I forgot to bring SLB his cat painting that we won him at the silent auction.
You dumb mother ####er. That was a great moment in FrosTre history.
Thanks for reminding me before we left. Oh wait, you didn't even come.
:lmao:

Are you sure you aren't going to send me a box full of AIDS?

TPW's GB.

Had my work performance review today: Meets Expectations!!
Congrats?

On the same topic, I can tell my stress level is off the rails because I've seen about half a dozen really hot women around my neighborhood all happy and stuff this morning and afternoon. All I could think was how much I hated them for doing nothing but banging their rich husbands.
I ended up taking a Xanax around 2pm yesterday. Around 5:30 I thought it would be a good idea to take a walk. This was NOT a good idea. I don't have a lot of experience with this drug and didn't realize it made you feel like you were wasted off your ###. I felt like I was at Beerhole® trying to walk again. I got home around 6:30 I guess and passed out around 7:30. :bag:

Chinese buffet for dinner last night. I don't even want to know me anymore.
Were there Godzilla jokes?
<_<

Vag full of wontons?
:oldunsure:

I went to the doctor yesterday and got a talking-to because I had lost three pounds since my last visit. Baby measures fine, but I guess because I've only gained 5 pounds total (LAM), they think I'm starving him or something.

For the first time in my life, I've been given a "just try to eat more calories" directive. :pickle:

I'll be thinking about you today, GB. These things are exhausting, so be sure to keep a good control on your buzz (my body can totally act out against me when stressed/tired and affect how I process alcohol).

I think it's really cool that you'll have so many people coming, regardless of why they are doing so. It says a lot about your dad and your family.

Good luck to you, and go take care of your momma. ;)

Okay, so I've been trying to get rid of my potbelly - I haven't lost any actual weight according to my old-school scale, but I bought a new (smaller) belt and went through every notch and have to buy a new belt again.

My scale's obviously broken, right? I mean, you can't lose five inches off your waist, gain zero visible muscle, and not lose any weight.

This doesn't make any sense. Are you sure someone didn't edit the post before you replied? That would probably explain it.

You wouldn't have this problem with Tanner's Build-A-Belt kit.

I appreciate it GB. If it's ok with you, I like to keep a large print of your vag head framed above the fireplace.
