Not sure what the big deal is. After drinking all afternoon yesterday I played xbox online with another FBG for about an hour last night.

you're like 26 and single or something, aren't you?I think most of these dudes are about 40 and married with kids.

don't get me wrong, I'm sure they are fun. I just can't believe people have the time to play that much (and then post about the games on a message board? wtf?).

EDIT: Also, I wasn't making fun of them. I just find it surprising I guess. I'd like to sit around and play too I guess so maybe I'm just jealous.

I guess the family aspect of it may be a little strange, but for many older guys with kids it was more of a late night hobby after kids were asleep. Kinda similar to GMTAN in some ways, bunch of guys shooting the #### and getting drunk.

My experience is limited to one particular game that happened to have a lot of FBG beerguys playing it though. No idea what that skyrim and other stuff is like. They may be weirdos who take that stuff way too seriously.

when sportsbooks refuse to take your action and cut your limits as low as $1 per prop, that's a pretty clear sign that you are beating them.

betting sides and totals and winning money consistently is really hard. beating props is not. that's why most books don't offer a lot of props, and when they do they are quick to cut you after you start winning.

it's important to find what you are good at and stick to that...and tail others who are good at what they do. that's why the wagering thread here rules. lots of really sharp people who have been making money on sports wagering for years in there.

Well, as a guy who was very involved with the early iterations of the wagering thread, I can tell you with all the veracity in my body that I talked about my losses as much or even more than I talked about my wins. I'm not disciplined enough to stick to prop bets, nor do I particularly enjoy blindly following others who are better at this than me...I like coming up with my own leans, good or bad...many times bad. I took an extended break from sports wagering because I wasn't doing very well and money got very tight very quick for us. Thankfully, things have loosened up for the Malaises and I have a little extra $$$ to play with. I don't spend money on clothes, video games, big boy toys, golf or really anything else, so with a little disposable money, I like to put some coin down on things I can watch and enjoy.

But, I did throw $50 on Germany at 5:1 to win it all before the games began. I also threw $15 on Rory to win it all on Wed night. Truck has the keys to my account. He can log in and verify it.

I own a Wii that hasn't been touched in probably 2 years. Maybe my games just suck so I don't get it. I'm sure the games out these days are pretty kickass.
