Not to put too fine a point on it

Say I'm the only bee in your bonnet

Make a little birdhouse in your soul
I've got a few TMBG on my spotify playlist for the classroom. The kids aren't sure what to make of them.
I'm not sure what to make of them either. There's some awful stuff in there, but then you have this, Instanbul (not Constantinople), and my all-time favorite, Don't Let's Start, and...well, then I don't know what to think.

Really, Don't Let's Start is a top-xxxx song for me. The whole damn catalog is just so odd it's hard to figure.

Dylan had a baseball game tonight and we went despite the lightening. I was surprised (####### wasn't) that the umps never got a call from the cocksucking mother####er running the show to call the game. Again. I waited for half an inning thinking someone would call or come to their senses but no. So I told Dylan to grab his stuff, it wasn't safe. Told the coach, my GB, and a couple other parents sitting by us. GB tells the umps nobody on his team is playing. Other team's coaches are furious because they couldn't see what the big deal was.

Guess I'll be calling City Hall tomorrow. I hate people.
Over here, if there is even a lightning flash on the horizon, everything stops until 30 minutes after the last flash, regardless. Usually they cancel the whole game rather than even wait it out. Thought that was SOP everywhere.

Pretty sure the entire STL area has demonstrated their apathy toward life.

That CD with Birdhouse and Instanbul and Particle Man and the rest is transcendent. The rest is meh.

Charity trivia night was good. Taking off with all the leftover beer (since I provided the coolers) was even better.

After killing Jason off and countless screaming Argonauts?

Flood. Everybody wants a rock to wind a piece of string around imo.

Everybody wants prosthetic foreheads on their real heads.

There's only one thing that I know how to do well, and I've often been told that you only can do what you know how to do well, and that's be you.

Be what you're like.

Be like yourself.

And so I'm having a wonderful time but I'd rather be whistling in the dark.

Met George Brett tonight. Whole lotta man love live right there. Great guy, very funny. Told story after story, talked a lotta ####. Man love.

Finally gave notice at current job (think I was supposed to do it around 18 pages ago) after a lengthy background check at new job. It went much better than I initially expected. I know people aren't happy I am leaving, but they understand. Not a real confrontation guy so this is something I have been dreading. So expect the worst, but hope for the best. 15-20 commute plus a couple days working from home and a significant raise with promotion was really too much to pass up.

My brother retired this week after 26 years as a suburban Texas cop. The stereotype dancing in you head right now is largely accurate. He's extremely fat, has a mustache Mike Ditka would envy, and loves guns and Jesus real hard. OTOH, he's the straightest arrow you'll ever meet, and when a tornado destroyed an Albertson's in 1997, he calmly made a lap around the block to dodge it, and was the first person on the scene. He didn't make a big scene about leaving, but the city certainly did, as dozens of cops rotated through the ceremony on Tuesday to pay their respects.

Not you specifically, but most people tend to make far too much out or their leaving a job.
Agreed, but I have only been here a very short time. Figured they would have preferred I leave immediately, but they let me stay to do some things. Couldn't be happier about that believe it or not

Can someone explain to me how getting a pool put in works? The paying for it part - do people write a big check (they start at about 35k here) or finance it? And if the latter, doesn't that accrue interest meaning that the pool ends up costing 2-3x when it's all said and done? Seems expensive.

Acl is this weekend here in Austin and the scene is starting to be pretty cool. I work downtown and it have passed half a dozen tour buses this morning that are either rolling in to town or parked in some random place waiting for whatever. Have fun stu and Uni.

How come every time I win any amount of money,

my wife finds a need for that money?

Even when she doesn't know I won somethig, or knows I did, but not how much, a conversation pops up about her needing just about that exact amount.

It's uncanny.

I don't think shuke and I even have anything to talk about other than this place and maybe our love of pizza sandwiches and soap fusion, but I would bend over backwards to cornhole the guy were he ever in town and so inclined.
Wrong direction?

Congratulations on marrying a human woman.
