GM's thread about nothing (39 Viewers)

My wife's school is so unbelievably dumb. Robo-call this morning that they were having an early dismissal due to the storm. So they sent the kids home and I got there 15 minutes later to pick my wife up and head home. Only they then made an announcement that teachers couldn't leave until they made another announcement. No prior notice. No timeframe or reason given at all. So :hot:

Ha. It's not even snowing in that clip.

You did the right thing.
Thanks GB. This means more to me than you know.

Bob had a company?

No idea what went into it, but considering the mental anguish I go through over deciding between two good jobs, making that decision to close up shop would've Damn near killed me.

The hard part sounds done- Gl and congrats Bob!

Any idea what's next?
Who knows? Beekeeping? Boxing? Bocce ball?

The company we merged with really just bought the account list and employees. None of the assets or receivables were included. So I'll be working for them and I won't have to worry about anybody else but myself. I can't tell you what a relied that will be eventually after all of this sinks in. I've been supporting so many people for so many years. It's stressful to say the least. Plus it really is a good company with highly qualified specialists in areas like MPS (managed print solutions) that I can't currently offer. Plus a really nice furniture showroom, designers on staff and more. It will be good.

GL Bob. You need to blow off a little steam. Say, the first weekend in April?
I really miss Vegas but I'm not exactly making any long term plans right now.

The boys just got home from school so I told them about our place. Dylan really didn't care, Cal cried his eyes out. :(

ETA

After I finally got Cal calmed down he says "what am I going to do now? I wanted to work with you and PaPa."

Then "so you're going to be fired now right?!" I tell him no, I'm not going to be fired. He replies "yes you will! That's what big companies do! They buy little companies then fire everybody!!"

I don't know where he got that last one from even though in general, he's pretty spot on.

sounds like a great deal for you... but must've been a bear to get to that decision. not having to worry about staff is golden though- nice.
