GM's thread about nothing (26 Viewers)

Gustergate reminds me of an idea I had for a squares pool, auction style. Beginning of the season, every square is available for $5, except, you know what you are getting. You want 0-0? Bid on it, but know that someone could outbid you tomorrow. By the time the superbowl arrives, hopefully the good squares are high enough that it makes sense to throw $10 on 5-8 or whatever.
too tedious to finish the paragraph

I did 4 miles on the treadmill this evening. Bentley and Annoying would laugh at my time.
4 miles is no joke. Good work. Get up over 5 and your golden, Ponyboy
 5 is when you get your official designation as a runner, regardless of pace. You're almost there.

At that point you may have to start buying fancy wicking shirts and pairs of socks that have a left and right and shoes from some specialty shop, but it's totally worth it.

After two days of the couch to 5k program I mentioned to my wife I needed new shoes. She started talking about taking me to "The Running Room" where they'd watch me walk and take a billion measurements and make me custom shoes. I was like, "yeah no I'm going to get some 30 dollar shoes from Target."

I jogged 2 miles with Kellen last week. 3 miles tomorrow. The pace was....well, let's just say we got lapped by a squirrel.

However, tonight we saw his report card. All A's with a B in science. In the SUMA program. I am so proud. He can run whatever pace he wants. My kid....almost straight A's. Wow. Maybe I do need that Maury Povich show invite.

I hate to say it, but shoes matter

Not yet they don't. I'm still just a fat slob trying to get in shape. If I become a runner if I don't kill myself I'll think about fancy shoes.

I could see you pointing at the father / son side by side pictures

Look at the pigment in his skin, does that look like someone that could be a child of mine?

(Insert boos here)

And dont get me started on the grades

I had no idea your ex-wife was so smart

HS dropout but I always suspected latent genius genes....I mean she DID marry me, so brilliant on some level.

Osaurus, any interest in going to Red Rock Canyon on Sunday? Obviously not as great as Zion, but a whole lot less driving, and it looks like there are some not super but OK hikes there.

Sounds like the perfect way to work off that White Castle you'll have on Saturday night

Think I have to save the White Castle for a time when I'm not going to see any other humans.

O, check out Turtlehead Peak, for instance.

To be clear, she knows the house cleaner is coming. And she is still vacuuming
Bought my wife a maid service for her birthday one time.

What was she doing the day before the service came to clean? Yep, cleaning.

Most favorable odds of winning per square according to this probabilities study:

1 - Argonaut

2 - guster gf

3 - Annyong

4 - roverfish

5 - guster friend

6 - St Louis Bob

7 - guster

Seems legit.
Looks good to me
I guess we should be happy he didn't "randomly" get the top three slots.
I assumed that "video proof" would be 20 minutes long minimum.

Loved that it was 1:05.

I meant because WC makes your hands smell really bad. It occurred to me it might sound like I meant farts or diarrhea. As a lady, obviously those don't occur. But your hands get imbued with that onion smell. :(

In better news, I tried making bacon in the oven for the first time.

In an unrelated matter, GUESS WHO JUST ATE A POUND OF BACON! :porked:
Bigtime oven bacon guy here,
yeah, rinse the bacon well before putting in the oven and you get the same effect as the frying in water also. We buy the 3 lb. thick slice pkgs and do them all at once in the oven on baking sheets (with rims ...large jelly roll pans).
