One thing I notice in the video (and I have recreated the effect) is that even after you sort on the "RANDOM" column, the values in that column are not in order.

I found in Excel help.that the RAND() function re-generates the random numbers every time the sheet recalculates, which includes doing a SORT on that column.

I don't know if this had any influence on people getting both sides of the same number pairs or not. In order to actually get the column in order, I had to do a Copy/Paste Special (Values) - which again re-generates the random numbers. I could then sort on the "values" column and the numbers didn't change.

If you only want the random numbers to generate once, copy the column to a text editor, then past the numbers back into the spreadsheet.

Again, I have no idea if/how this might be related to the "both sides" issue.

FYI, I am in no way asking for a do-over. Honestly, I'd likely get worse numbers than I have now (6-4).
