On late nights at the office I have two options. I can leave buccoulic Bryant Park (6th Ave / 40th St) and take a trip down memory lane. The backside of Times Square is the last vestige of pre-Guilianni NYC - adult bookstores, peep shows, et al. It's all 1991 until I hit Port Authority at 8th Avenue. The bus terminal is basically a homeless village.

ASIDE - some guy just tried to sell me a gently used Carhart

Or I can walk north 2-3 blocks and wade through Times Square.

So, basically fourth or fifth ring.

Oh and my vertigo came back this week. Hard. I believe I detailed this on page 1,943 - bad news for BL circa 2007-08, six months of physical therapy. I got some new progressive lenses and it's really ####### me up. Laid out all day Sunday, head sloshing around like a bucket of water. Couldn't sleep worth a ####.

Didn't wear the glasses Monday. Seemed to normalize simewhat. Still had a smidge of vertigo while lying down but slept OK (relatively speaking). Worked 16 hours today / wore my glasses.

ETA - only happens when I go horizontal, seems less pronounced most of the day.

Doc thinks I'm just going through an adjustment but if it persists I might have to start going to PT again, 2-3 times a week, to retrain my balance / equilibrium.

Homogeneous suburban Hell. Other than that its fine. That particular area is filled mostly with chains. The Pappasitos north of there on 290 is passable Mexican, and the Wings & Things across 290 has good wings but is pretty dumpy. You're right around the corner from Karbach brewery. No taproom but they do tours at 3 and 6 every day and you can buy a couple pints there. The Hopadillo is pretty good.
