Good time to target the struggling teams in you league. (1 Viewer)

I think this is a good time to start targeting the players on the struggling teams in your league.

The 0-4 and 1-3 teams that are not mailing it in, may have just faced top scorer each week and feel they have a very good shot, at still making the playoffs. These guys may be a bit more desperate to pull the trigger on a deal.

It's also allowed 3-4 games to be played by each NFL team.

You can pretty much see what Defense is for real, and which are not, in determining your playoff matchups.

I think this is a vital week, as if a fantasy team is 0-5 or 1-4, they may either give up and not bother to trade, or in DYNASTY cases, they may begin playing for next year, which could also allow for them to move their aging veterans.

Good luck

Here is a good rule of thumb. If you have a lot of bench scoring week in and week out, and you're winning games or maybe 2-2 on the season...you need to package some of that bench material up with maybe a WR2, WR3, or RB2 that you are playing right not and upgrade. SO you trade a 2 for 1...those are the trades I try and accomplish. You trade 13 pts from the RB2, 10 pts from the WR on your bench...that's 26 pts a week, and send that to the guy that is scoring 18 pts form his RB2 but has no WR2 or WR3 to speak of. You are puttting morepoints in his line up and your and you will be stronger moving forward.

That's a bland outline but you get the idea.

No -they are MORE LIKELY to think their team is fine, but they have had bad luck. You target teams with first round BUSTS who are not putting up points in more than one AREA - and you look to steal the buy-low candidates of Carnell or Lamont or maybe Edge or Ronnie.Or, you look for losing teams with one stud. You offer to put two good players in their starting lineup for their one stud. Offers that team more overall starter scoring - not one player scoring well. Those are the teams that are good to target in trades this week.

Why would any 0-4 team give up on their stuggling studs at this point?
Why WOULDN'T they? What is your question? Why wouldn't the Moss owner ditch him for a better starter?

Good point Marc. I also think when you start putting trade options together...if you have the mindsight that you are trying to screw over the other owner with a lowball offer and such...not gonna work. You need to try and ahve both teams coming out ahead. And offering 2 solid players for 1 stud is a good way to improve your line up if you have the depth to deal away...after the bye weeks what are you gaining form all that bench scoring anyways...not much.

:goodposting: I shouldn't have only used example that may have caused them to be 0-4 or 1-3.These teams, more than likely are just bad, in most cases.Where, as you mentioned, you can offer what you suggested. My main theory boils down to the thought that, teams at this point in the road, are deciding if their season will be a wash or if they are gonna make some changes to better the team, or simply change things for the sake of changing things.Desperation....Find the desperate owner, and you can usually find a good deal.

:thumbup:The times I am most satisfied with a trade are the times both teams have benefited.

Speaking from the position of a struggling team (1-3) that has been underperforming I am neither panicking nor desperate to make a trade.

I believe in my player evaluation and am willing to wait a couple more week to see if things turn around.
