Statistically speaking, RB is the most popular position in fantasy football. They are the most versatile and consistent players in terms of production and flex options. RBs has a higher chance of scoring multiple TDs than WRs or TEs, RBs also catches easy passes for those "cheap" PPR bonuses many count on. Most important of all, RBs are more independent and doesn't require a symbiont relationship with the QB. However, for 2011 after 4 weeks or 25% in to the season we yet to find that Wavier Wire gem such as Slaton, Hillis, Charles, Foster and McFadden. We been spoiled for years with those WW wonders of the yesteryear, but this year we are left with a void of the WWRB black-hole and blues. Currently the demand for RBs are at a all time high, most teams are suffering from the absences of those always reliable Chris Johnson, Maurice Jones-Drew, Steven Jackson, Jamal Charles, Adrian Peterson, frank Gore and left with too many RBBCs. We had our setup and chances with players like Tate, the season ending injury to Charles and others, but all we have so far that comes close of filling that void is a resurgence of a 30 year old injury prone RB named Willis. I guess beggars can't be choosers at this point or can they? From the knee deep cesspool of this year's WW for RBs comes players like Hunter, Hardesty, Scott, MckKnight and we get overly excited with players that had a good week from RBBC teams that no one should touch with a ten foot people, player such as Belichick's Ridley and Shanahan's Torain. We have set the bar so low that we are hyping up the Bismarck of RBs in KC's Jakie Battle! Really?!? after just 5 touches for 22 yards in week 4?!? The 5 pages of hyping might prove me wrong, that's one touch per page, but I'm not holding my breath in that putrid RBBC. Maybe it's time to take a break from polishing turds and accept the fact that right now it's a ghost town, a black hole for WW RBs and sing some blues with me....

I still think Helu will emerge for Washington at some point and one of these weeks will be a great pickup. THT is not doing a good job and Shanny don't seem pleased with him at all and I wonder how long Torain can stay healthy.

I'm actually getting made fun of in my 16 team league for hoarding guys like Taiwan Jones, Powell, and Scott just hoping for an injury, but hey you have to be proactive.

Da'Rel Scott changes everything soon...the last rookie RB that had an explosive preseason like his was Chris Johnson, stuck in a RBBC. Scott has been stuck behind an RBBC and yearly favorite do nothing Danny Ware but with Jacobs dinged up, he might be getting some burn. And he's a burner...two 65+ yard TDs in the preseason, including a 97 yarder in the pivotal week 3 pre-season game. I almost dropped my 6th receiver for Torain BEFORE last weeks game to get the jump on the WW, not making that mistake again if Scott is active today.

I'm a Scott owner in dynasty and have 0 expectations for him this year. he's a project and more than likley a year away before he sees actionIf you want to talk about preseason- look up Quincy Wilson, Justin Fargas (a few years before he ever became valuable), Cedric Peerman, etc... A lot of times the preseason stud never amounts to much

That was my thought coming into 2011, dynasty only, no redraft but then Jacobs sprains his MCL, Bradshaw may or may not be able to handle 300 touches again, Danny Ware has been given umpteen chances to prove that he's not the guy, Scott probably gets a look this week and possibly going forward if Jacobs misses extended time. Opportunity + Talent is all you can hope for when looking for WW gold, this might be the opportunity and the talent is legit. Sure, he's not gonna sniff the field in pass blocking situations but he defines home run hitting speed.

Can't argue with that, shouldn't even have referenced it. But I saw what I needed to see, that his one step to top speed gear he displayed in college translated to the pro game. Just my opinion, Caveat emptor.

Just last year, I iognored a RB who was like 4th on the depth chart, had been around for years and never seemed to surpass eveen mediocre talent ahead of him on the depth chart. This guy also played for a team that most would coinsider good talent evaluators. This same guy went 5 carries for 22 yards (coincidence?) too. He got 10 carries the next week and did little. I kept ignoring the signs and somebody else snagged him. That guy ended up getting 1000 yards and 10 TDs.

Frankly I'm glad to see that RBs aren't as important as they used to be. In PPR you can win with stud WRs and TEs and mediocre RBs. I like that.

Ok, one, who was this? Two, since Battle was more than worth it, whose on tap this week?

In what universe have Foster and McFadden ever been waiver wire heroes? They were both drafted in every league last year, unless perhaps you were drafting in June.

If you go back a couple years more, maybe you'll get your answer: in 2007, we saw Ryan Grant and Earnest Graham crush it over the back half of the season. Pierre Thomas was another good second-half guy in 2008.

Battle might be that guy now, but somebody else in a backup role--Hardesty, Demarco Murray, who knows--will probably benefit from another starting RB getting injured before the year is done.
